For all the comments that keep asking what the meaning or Biblical principle behind this game is. I think you forget that the best way to teach and earn the trust of a child is to have fun. A saying that my children pastor used during vbs for his volunteers was "if you play with the kids you will be able to pray with the kids." This is so true once the child learns that they can have fun and trust you they will have confidence that they can talk to you openly. And at that time they will ask you to pray with them and help them understand the Bible as it would relate to their situation. On a side note Paul I loved this game. My kids on Wednesday night love it. I did change it up a little bit. I call the game Bible. On left side of the line it is "Old" on the right side of the line it is "New", then I had a twist when I say "Bible" the children put on foot on each side of the line. Thanks again for the idea of a great game

Thanks for the idea played this today with my youth group and they thought it was funny , everyone had fun, i made it a bit difficult later on but telling them to hop only on one foot when switching to a side, it made it more funnier 😆 !

We play a similar game. It's called Father, Son, Holy Spirit. Father is to the left of the tape, Son to the right and Holy Spirit is straddling both lines.

For those looking for a "reason" to play this game, I plan to use it with my sunday school class this week as we talk about John baptizing Jesus in the Jordan river. My class is K-2 and I am always looking for a movement game for them. Thanks!

I play a similar game called “On your stomach, on your back” if they flinch at all when you call out 1 of the 2 command (1 - on your stomach or 2 -on your back) they are eliminated. Remind them to be honest... Play indoors or on grass Good for all ages.

Seems FUN!!!! But what exactly is the meaning for this game? What is the lesson behind it?
@discipleprojectoutreach4 жыл бұрын
Marcus Gore Why do we eat? Why do we go on walks? Sometimes we do things for pure fun and joy. God made us for, among other things, to have fun and experience the joy of play. What you see here is a snapshot of fun during a whole weekend where there was preaching, praying and loving one another. Fun is what we had on our way to and during our most spiritual moments.

There are actually people who think you shouldn’t play games at youth group? Might as well not have a youth group then.
@discipleprojectoutreach3 жыл бұрын
Well, I think you can have youth group without games, occasionally; but youth group should have some fun in it.

I must have missed the part in the video where you're preaching the Gospel to the kids. With all these gospel games, it's no wonder kids don't take church seriously.
@discipleprojectoutreach4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for chiming in SG33. Games are not the end all be all and are not only for evangelism but for fellowship as well. This particular video was filmed at a retreat, kids were already there and the gospel was communicated and many students relationship with the Lord was strengthened.
@linza23453 жыл бұрын
I totally agree with John Jones. I don't want to say you don't teach them the bible at all (you mention the devotional book at the beginning which proofs that you don't neglect teaching) But I want to be honest I am shocked if this is what youth groups do in America. I think these are not kids but almost grown up adults and they only behave like kids because our culture treats them this way. I was actually searching for a video from Voodie Baucham where he explains why youth groups in general are not biblical and this is how I found this video and also many other videos of "what to do in youth groups." all with playing games and "having fun" and "connecting" I don't want to offend you but the title of the video is "youth group game" not "Retreat vacation game" as you say it in your comment below, so it was intended to play in youth groups and I just don't thing that's what church is for- entertaining people but as John Jones said teaching Gods word. These games take all the seriousness out of the youth group. I know in my teen group we only studied the bible and it was great. We also had a good time and joy. I remember we talked about if we would be willing to die for Gods Glory- I just don't thing games fit in this very well. Again this was not to offend you as I believe your intention is good and that you really have a heart for reaching out to the youth otherwise you wouldn't do all these videos I just think this I not the right way. God Bless from Germany.
@justinrodgers99283 жыл бұрын
Why would he record that part? The point of the video is to show us the game. Obviously they don’t just play games at their youth group

Teach the kids the Scriptures. Games and other nonsense won't help them grow spiritually or know God intimately. Get rid of the games and teach them God's Word.
@discipleprojectoutreach5 жыл бұрын
You watch one video and assume I am saying we should only play games with kids and not scripture? Do your homework.
@coachburnett47075 жыл бұрын
You would have youth group at your church that kids would probably not want to go to if all you do is teach the Word. Children have a short attention span and need stimulation to keep it. You can teach God's Word through games and activities. Great job Mr. Turner!
