I am a UK graduate and was working in Karachi at a multinational company for 5 years at 75k. Although I accomplished all my quarterly and annual targets, I never got promoted. This is mainly due to internal politics and lack of vision and employee empowerment at the top level. Being married and having a child in this economy meant that I had to take desperate measures. So, I moved to Germany on a student visa, this time not to study but in fact to find a fulltime job. Although it is a struggle but I would say there is hope.

44:45 Well Junaid Bhai, only some communities in India do, mostly Gujrati and Telugu community. In North India, its same as you. In 2010, I had received an admit from one of the top 25 universities in US for engineering. I was also in touch with a professor, and he said he interested in offering me position in research lab but he is might not get funding by then. So I had to arrange tuition and living expenses for 1 semester. All my relatives in US discouraged me to come, giving me taunts I would bring poverty to my parents. My father and mother backed me and ignored all relatives. Even after reaching in US, these relatives kept messaging me "You are wasting parents money". Within 3 months, professor received grant and I received 100 % tuition waiver and monthly stipend. All relatives were silenced. In 2 years, instead of giving I saved 15,000 USD. With that money, I called my parents, took graduate walk and showed them around US. None of those relatives said anything, or even wished me for getting a master's. But Gujrati community is supportive to its people. They even sponsor green card for their family members.
@MSthesmart2 жыл бұрын
I agree with you. Americans are more willing to help then people of our own community. I lost many friends and relatives after moving to US because rather they were jealous or taunt me betraying Pakistan and Islam. I promote my cultural and religious values alot in my university. I also study in one of the best engineering school in America. Recently find many Indian master students.
@sanjayarora47692 жыл бұрын
@@MSthesmart That's good, all the best. We should try to cut all toxicity of our life. It has nothing to do with moving to US. After studying in US, I came to India and even then people taunt. First, not easy to get job in India. I had multiple offers within 3 weeks. Then they taunt about not being able to drive, then random things. It's part of the social structure to put someone down to feel happy about it.

For the US spouse visa case, ask your spouse to put the furniture in a rental storage. It costs a little but many people do this and is very helpful. Also, hire a property manager to get you rented out. This way you will be sure that no tenant problem arises later on. With that done, he can move to Pakistan for 2 years. In the long run, 2 years will not matter much. Good luck! Also, hire an immigration lawyer. You can find many Pakistani or Muslim immigration attorneys who understand the situation well.

Guys, allow me to share my story please. I completed my masters (Petroleum Technology) in 2009 from University of Karachi. I literally went to every single company in Karachi and personally handed over my resume. I even requested them to please hire me as an intern, don’t pay me any money, I just need some experience to get my foot in the door. Unfortunately, no luck. Then I moved to Islamabad and started living in a hostel since most of the Oil and Gas company headquarters are located there. Every day I used to visit a company or two so I can meet their HR Representatives or any Engineering manager to hand over my resume. I struggled for almost a year and finally decided to return Karachi to find any job. Then my friend convinced me to move to Australia on a student visa. Back in the days, it was easy to get a student visa even on a Diploma. Total cost was 700K PKR including first semester fee, air fare and some extra cash to survive first few months in Australia. I came here in September 2011 and rest is the history. Alhamdulillah, I am a citizen here, earning a decent salary, getting all the first-class benefits from the Australian Government. Free education and medical for my kids. Safe and secure environment. But I really feel for my friends stuck in Pakistan. I feel for my nephews and nieces. Will they go through the same struggle I did 12 years ago, or things have changed? I really want to know, what are the opportunities for a fresh graduate in Karachi? If any of you need some guidance on how to move to Australia, then don’t hesitate to contact me. May Allah make it easy for everyone.

@goalisticfaz2 жыл бұрын
How do I respond to the question “I want to come to Australia, please help me”? No one can help you. You are your own driving force. You have to do your own homework and then come up with a more meaningful question. Let’s make 3 scenarios 1) You want to come Australia on a Study Visa 2) You want to come on a graduate visa. 3) You want to directly get PR and then migrate to Australia There are other ways too like a spouse visa but that’s not in the scope of my discussion. The very first mandatory step in all the visas, is your English score (IELTS or PTE). Start preparing for it now and aim for minimum 7 each. For Scenario 1) Based on your budget, choose the degree wisely. Diploma, or undergrad or masters. Aim for cities like Perth, Adelaide and Brisbane Visit all the education consultants in your city and see what they can offer you. Look for scholarships online, Australian Endeavour Awards is the one to look for. If you have just completed Intermediate, then see if there is an opportunity to get a student visa for a diploma course. If you have completed a bachelor degree (4 years) and have zero experience then apply for a master’s degree (if you have enough funds), else wait for the scholarship or you can apply for a grad visa by checking the following link immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visa-listing/skilled-recognition-graduate-476#Eligibility Happy to discuss scenario 2 and 3 in detail if you have any specific question.

Recently, I visited Karachi. I was very surprised that the day starts in Pakistan 11:00 am . All the young generation wakes up late and sleep at 1:00 am. Many 20 year old are home and if they have 3-4 months in between exams , these youth dont acquire new skills. India trained their men and women villages after villages few years ago in IT. Also, in many developed countries , volunteers are your assets. Most of the streets and streams are cleaned by volunteers. So if people cannot find jobs or have some free time, they work in their community to make it better. But we rather sleep and go out to eat. I also saw a family on one poor bike -family with 4 children and a wife reason- unless pakistani family has acquired a boy , family is not complete even after 6 daughters. So as a nation we need to stress on quality rather then quantity. Also, if you visit most of the Muslim countries - are very clean. Turkey, Morocco, Saudi Arabia. Some of these countries don’t have that much money. But people keep their cities clean so people come for tourism . Pakistan has become one of the filthiest countries unfortunately. People even steal gutter guards. And then many families become victims of these gutters in the rainy season. How do we teach a nation about cleanliness. Can any govt make a difference, where people have become so numb to its surroundings and environment The only reason why pakistani is able to survive outside pakistan because there they will get up at 5:am and ready to do all kind of jobs till late night.

I am a little surprised at the quick and impulsive suggestions being floated here about immigration. Most of these suggestions are being given to people who are more concerned with "escaping" and "reaching" US/UK/West. But because of this haste and quick-fix approach, they end up in a fifteen-twenty-year struggle and "stuck-up" situation. We have to understand one thing; any time you want something high in life the amount of hard work will be the same and location will not change things much. Regarding the travel aspect, if you work hard in Pakistan and build a reputation, no one is going to reject your visa. Most people who complain are people who haven't spent their time taking the hard road (which in Pakistan, and abroad is the same, but if you work really hard in Pakistan you can still get it). Plus, there are local resources you can capitalize on local resources. But all of this begins after you become successful. Yes, the urban quality of life abroad will be far better but that also comes with certain costs. Yes, some other things are also affordable like free education for kids. So, I agree with that aspect. My problem is not with people wanting to move abroad or saying that it is better abroad (yes, you are right) but the APPROACH is wrong and hasty. If you have the right approach you will have chances in Pakistan and also that your chances of tapping overseas opportunities will be higher and easier sitting from Pakistan if you have the RIGHT APPROACH right here from Pakistan. Without the right approach, you will run in circles in the West, and inside will feel not very successful despite the nice roads and buildings. Yes, go overseas if you need the salary, perks, etc. but not without the right approach after putting in a lot of hard work in Pakistan, do all your homework, save accordingly, and then wait for the right opening with the proper company, visa papers, etc.

My goodness! That's crazy money for a degree man! I'd say, rather spend some time learning a business skill and invest that sum into it. But then if you're really passionate about the degree, you should pursue it. But it's a crazy amount for sure. Here(India) we spend less than quarter of that money.

Hi, I am a student from Rawalpindi and just gave 2nd year exams, I have got 100% scholarship in a 800th ranked university named BAU in North Cyprus( Republic of turkey ) from my college on the basis of academic skills and diff internships summarizing that I had a strong and bulky profile at the age of 19. I am concerned to have opinions on this as I have option to continue my Bs here from Islamabad or move to north Cyprus where I have to pay only 800$ as some funds annually to university. I could continue my freelancing in Video editing and help my expenses there for living etc but, as some people know its a disputed land plus its really close to middle east lands like Lebanon and Israel which are in a great conflict. I am confused in talking a step and I don’t even know my software engineering degree would be valued from that uni or not I will surely move to other developed countries. I am really confused your opinions might help out. Thankyou,

For the person with the US spouse visa issue, I would recommend consulting an immigration lawyer for best approach. One option might be to apply to a university for graduate studies and go on a student visa since those are processed on a priority basis, and then you can apply for adjustment of status once you are in the US.

I would suggest AGAINST applying for a student visa. Not only is that a lengthy process of applying for a school, getting accepted, paying those fees and applying for the visa immigration can see that you have a spousal visa pending and they will see right through it. Spousal visa of a US citizen is given the highest priority and unfortunately it will take the time it takes. My own spousal visa application got delayed due to covid but I was lucky as I could visit my husband and stay with him for 6 months at a time as I am a Canadian citizen and don't require a visa to visit. But every-time I went I was upfront about who I am visiting and that I have a green card application pending. I had to wait almost two years to get my visa and I know its hard having your life on hold but I still would never suggest trying other sneaky methods that desi ppl love to suggest. Its a bad idea and usually ends up prolonging the whole process. Also, I wouldn't agree with Junaid bhai on having the husband move to Pakistan as you do need to show proof of income that is more than the poverty line and they ask about it at the interview. Overall def consult an immigration lawyer before making any moves.

Staying here or abroad is a personal choice I believe. Neither opinion should be shoved down anyone's throat. If you want to move abroad, go and explore. If you are satisfied here, enjoy life. You don't have to keep on struggling for one thing after another. Take a break, relax. This country is not going anywhere, it's here. We're doing alright. If you're earning good, you want to stay? Stay! There's no pear pressure for moving. You want to go? go ahead, give it your best shot.

Here's my opinion, some may think it's controversial. Take ownership of your own life and destiny. The country doesn't owe you anything. Don't be emotionally absorbed into making life decisions just because you think society wants you to. You don't owe anyone anything. Moving abroad will have pros and cons. No one can make that decision but you. You may get a richer life in terms of money and working flexibility. The environment may be nicer and it may be a better place to raise a family. But there will be times when you'll feel alone, you'll miss your family, you might miss the noise, the food, your old neighbourhood. That's completely normal, allow yourself to adjust to a new environment. The only person you need to satisfy is yourself. Your older self will thank you for the decisions you made, the courageous steps you took when you were younger.
