Great timing Vid Micheal! I have the marantz 7703 Question= I've had the same connected cables for years that connect from my sources, is there a way to test the cables to see if they still give the correct signals through them for 4k or non 4k? In other words, test the integrity of the cables

Super cool you explained. My 4800 renamed its sources on its aside from my player i believe. Orginally plugged a roku into the cab/stl and it renamed it based on what i named my roku. I replaced it with a nvidia sheild but i plugged it into the media player input and it auto renamed it shield. I would assume it does it for all the other receivers but definitely worth noting.

Another question, I have an older 7703 and 7701 . Is there a way to connect my 7703 to the 7701 so I can use the additional hdmi outlets for additional sources? If so, where is a good link on how to do it?

So I just got my new processor the Arcam AV41 and I am getting my first experience with eARC connecting it to my Sony A9G. I thought I had everything working last night however today while watching a 4k disc every 10-15 mins the tv said no connection went black for a few seconds and then picked up again. I think you had a similar issue in the past and was wondering how you fixed it. Should I just try and connect my devices to the receiver and then use the non-earc output from the processor into one of the non-earc hdmi inputs. I know I will not get sound from the tv but that is not a big deal.

How can I get the AVR menu to show on screen when streaming from TV?
@Youthman3 ай бұрын
I have to change the input on my TV to HDMI 3 to see the menu.

@@Youthman Thank you. I thought I tried that, and it is connected to input #3 on the TV, but I'll check again to confirm. To confirm, input #3 is on TV (LG), and the output is on AVR - ARC. I'll confirm my setup and get back to you. As a side note.... BE SAFE!!! I have family in Tampa also, so PLEASE take this storm to heart and be ready and SAFE!!!

@@YouthmanCertainly the case in my LG B2 - #3 is the eARC input that allows display of Onkyo receiver’s main or overlay mini OSD mini menus. I occasionally use the AVR’s front Aux HDMI to connect my MacBook when futzing around with miniDSP settings for fine tuning two current subs. Just a quick added note: it seems that some models of AVRs have a limited number of characters available on name edit for OSD- In the case of my TXRZ740, it’s 10.

Hey Youthman... just some video ideas on things which are difficult to search on KZbin I am looking for a cheap amp due to budget for adding 2 more speakers to the avr. No one has tested Fosi, Aiyama and few cheaper options and see how they run. Buzzing sound etc... This may allow for people to save money and buy better stuff. Newbie

Currently I am back feeding audio info from my sony 4k TV with the arc/ears input ... when should I choose to input into the receiver directly??
@Youthman3 ай бұрын
If everything is working, I’d leave it just like it is. The issue I have found with arc and the earc is it doesn’t work all the time. In my living room, set up, I have one HDMI connected from my TV to my AVR and occasionally I get no sound so I have to turn off the unit or disable arc and reenable it to get sound again. It’s a pain and super flaky.

Silly question, maybe, but couldn't you run the HDMI to the TV, and then a single HDMI from the TV to the receiver? 🤔🤔 Does this effect sound quality? 🤔🤔🤔🤔
@Youthman3 ай бұрын
TV’s don’t typically have an HDMI Out since they are displays. Thats the entire purpose of ARC / eARC. To get sound from the TV to your AVR or soundbar.
@chrisgraunke92693 ай бұрын
@@Youthman maybe it's different on older avr, I've got all my components linked to the TV and the TV running to the avr. 🤔🤔🤔

@chrisgraunke9269 my guess is you are using Toslink (fiber optic) or Digital Coax from the TV to your AVR.

@@Youthman no, all HDMI 🤷🏼♂️
@tordms3 ай бұрын
@@chrisgraunke9269 All sources connected to your tv, and a single hdmi from tv to avr for arc. This means no need to switch sources with the avr remote, so you only use tv remote for source selection and volume. For many setups today, the AVR would only need ONE eARC hdmi input.
