Death sentences is given, but commuted to life for foreigners. Then, depending on what arrangements Spain have with Thailand, he would most likely serve a few years before being transferred to Spain for the “rest “ of his sentence….

In a Thailand the police are very good at their job, and when you are busted, you are in most cases better off just telling the truth, cause that is in most cases what the police have arrived at…and when pleading guilty in court you will get a big reduction in sentence, maybe half, and better use that high priced lawyer to bargain a good deal with the judge for you

On 29th Aug 2024 (This past Thursday), the court sentenced him with the Death Penalty for 1st degree murder. Thailand is a country that still have capital punishment, however the country is reluctant to carry out actual execution for many reasons. Pressure from the Developed world, human rights NGO's and also domestic views about capital punishment. But to change this law requires going to parliament which in Thai politics, Criminal conviction amendments are extremely difficult as many conservatives and young people still do believe in capital punishment. To date, 327 convicted inmate with the sentence awaits the actual lethal injection. In the past 10 years, only 7 have been carried out. The last person with lethal injection was 5 years ago. Thailand's laws for capital punishment is for 1st degree murder and narcotics trafficking. The death penalty is carried out once the case has either gone from District court all the way to Supreme Court and the Supreme Court maintains the death penalty with the district court as well as the Appeals court. Or the defendant did not seek an appeal for a duration of time.
