It's not just about conspiracy videos, they're also surpressing "controversial videos" which is very vague. What qualifies as controversial? Who gets to decide? Some topics might be "controversial" but still very important to discuss. What if some news is released that turns out to be false (which has happened many times) and videos critical of the narrative presented are labeled as "controversial" or "conspiratorial" and suppressed when they might actually turn out to be true. I've seen this happen before. There are issues with these new rules that I think should be discussed and addressed if they can be.

The issue is that we don't know the limit as to what kind of content KZbin would consider liable to this process, or how the process would be implemented. It's probable that if the process for detecting these videos is flawed as they tend to be, we might have many cases of videos that _debunk_ Flat Earth theorists, to use your example, becoming hidden because of the titles or tags they use, effectively worsening the problem in an attempt to solve it.

The problem here is that KZbin themselves would have no idea what is or isn't a proven scientific fact. What is the difference between a working theory and a conspiracy theory? Is LENR a conspiracy theory despite being as pointless and shitty as Flat Earth theory? What about people who claim that 9/11 is a prophecy from God? Are religious claims considered conspiracy theories? Is misinformation a conspiracy theory? Censorship comes with a whole host of questions. That's why laws are so strict and meticulously written out. KZbin is essentially announcing that they're firing a shotgun at bad guys somewhere and you're okay with it because they said "bad guys".

Here's the problem Philip, by KZbin's standards THIS video could now be labeled a conspiracy video. They don't make any determination on if you are supporting or refuting the conspiracy theory, if you're simply discussing it there's a very good chance it will get demonetized and dropped from suggested vids. I have dozens of examples of this on my channel, with them even demonetizing missing person profiles that have no conspiracy angle mentioned whatsoever (and my content provides all sources in real-time as the info is shared and reviewed). There is also a gross oversimplification of thought here, that because you are reviewing videos about flat earth, that you actually believe or support those views (or WORSE, that simply reviewing that type of information will lead you to support or believe those views). If there's anything we can truly understand about KZbin from the comment sections, it's that many people do not agree with the information presented and are not only thinking for themselves, but being open about why they believe what they do. This is actually helpful to all of us in terms of being open minded and learning from others. Why do we not want to support fostering those types of conversations on a supposed "free speech" platform? KZbin is once again confusing itself with television. It's not a tool for one way conversation like TV is. Why don't they play to their strengths instead of constantly rolling back to policies that come from old media mindsets? The most infuriating thing about anti-vaxxers are that there are so many rich people who're publicly pushing it. They're in a position where if their kids ever do get sick as a result of their conspiracy theory, they're in a position where they can easily get the best medical care possible for their child. It has never shown unbiased recommendations when it comes to research topics; if you are searching for pro-something, it's not going to give you a 50/50 split of pro and against arguments. And it could be argued that when it comes to dangerous ideas, such as the "alternative medicine" use of black salve, it could be argued that to portray the weight of the arguments for and against it, the "truth" or scientific agreement is closer to 99/1. I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you, I just feel that it's important to recognize that it has never been unbiased. The problem with KZbin's rules is someone has to make a value judgement. I won't defend the idiots that upload videos with crackpot conspiracy theories but where is the line between crackpot and simply a different opinion? Who makes the judgement that something gets suppressed? What and where are the criteria? As usual, it's a black box. Stuff goes in, stuff comes out but no one is privy to the process save a select few. It's KZbin's platform and they can do what they want but creators are their partners and deserve an open and transparent process. Unfortunately, KZbin refers to us as "partners" but treats us like content cattle.

Just want to bring something to light about algorithms in general. My brother is a systems engineer (programmer) who has experience in artificial intelligence (KZbin’s recommendation algorithms). It is NOT EASY to just flag hundreds of thousands of videos (new ones are uploaded each day) that reference anti-scientific conspiracy theories. Recommendation algorithms take some inputs and practice and practice until they get good enough to get rolled out to the public and then they continue to get more practice. Do not ever expect that an update to a recommendation algorithm will automatically remove certain videos from a recommended list immediately .

I've lived here my whole life and will drive everywhere if I'm by myself after dark. It's not safe here, and I think that's pretty obvious by the level of violence in this city. Some things to remember... ALWAYS be aware of your surroundings. Your head should be on a swivel. Keep your phone in your pocket. Wear only one earbud (better yet, don't at all) so you can hear your surroundings. Walk with a purpose and act like you know where you're going. If you do find yourself out late at night/early hours of the morning, have a friend on speaker phone. This applies to even the "good parts" of downtown. Your life is worth enough to take care of yourself in these situations, so don't be complacent and assume it won't happen to you. If you get lazy, it will. Every single one of my friends could tell you their own personal nightmare when they were oblivious to the warning signs. It's disgustingly common here.

The line isn't clear but it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. The largest conspiracy movements like the anti-vaxers, climate denialists, 911 truthers and holocaust deniers are very easily proven wrong and will likely be a target of this. We don't need to mention flat-earthers, no one takes them seriously, and they will obviously also fall into this category. As for any of the countless "the government, elites and deep state bogeymen are out to get you" sort of theories like pizzagate and chem trails, I'm not sure. I imagine they will be hit too because again, too out there, too extreme. As for something that won't be hit, I imgaine something like anti-GMO stuff. It's all baseless stupidity that is easily debunked, but it isn't harmful, it just makes people change their diet a little, nothing serious.

If KZbin wants to implement a fact-check system on subjective content, I would hope it is a user-reported ticket system, with the requirement to supply evidence(s) for proof of false claims within a video and place an annotation with corrected information on the video. Allowing youtube to determine what is correct or not, even when substantial evidence is obvious/given, is giving too much credit that youtube will uphold this responsibility justly. We have all seen plenty of cases in which KZbin failed to acknowledge their shortcomings.

Explain building 7. Explain why news which was being fed what to say that whole day(and everyday) reported building 7 had just collapsed long before it had. Why police were telling people to get back they were going to blow it. Buildings don't just fall like that. 100s of fire fighters and even more civilians heard many explosions long before 1&2 fell. They heard it in the basement, but the plains struck very high on the buildings... Nothing should be exploding below ground. They also don't fall perfectly on each other in any event ever. Controlled demolitions take a ton of planning and execution to get falls like that yet those all just happened to fall perfectly in on themselves? PERFECTLY! Pilots don't think this was possible. Fire fighters don't believe this was possible. Family members of people killed don't believe it. Also look at the buildings as they fall you see charges going off one after another just like a controlled demolition. In videos they show buildings falling on their own, and show buildings fall from demolition. One does not look like the other, and 9/11 looks controlled. They even show how the smoke reacts as it would for a demolition explosion and not "pancaking" if it was pancaking it would not got boom boom boom boom etc down in seconds. It would be a fall a long wait some groaning another fall. Things would tip due to weight being heavier in the side with the most damage. It would of destroyed buildings surrounding it but nope it didn't even cross the street. Just straight down... Then building 7 fell the same even though you know nothing touched it

I want the people of Venezuela to be safe and to have a true democracy but I fear that just like in so many other countries the US has intervened in for "humanitarian" purposes, that this is just a means to an end to uphold US imperialism and to gain control of a country that has large amounts of oil.

Eugenia has been lead to water but it's her choice to drink it. You have to understand that with these disorders, oftentimes you need to hit rock bottom and want to change your life. Some make it and some die. No celeb signs up to be a role model and they don't owe that role to anybody. If some people watch her and develop an eating disorder, they were already on the edge and that is their life and problem to fix. If you know you have an addictive personality, don't go to coked up parties, y'know? Take responsibilities for your own weaknesses. Don't dump the blame on other people and tell them what they should do to prevent you from being like them.

Because he has already addressed her videos a long time ago, and at the time, it was unclear if she was actually suffering from anorexia. She has also addressed those allegations before as well. I haven't looked at her videos since then, so I don't know what she is saying now, but from what I remember, she has never promoted being anorexic or said that her body is ideal. I think she has one of those conditions where it is extremely hard for her to gain weight.

@F That is not what they said at all. I've read what they said and have no problem separating official statements from user interpretation. And bogus conspiracies do pop up with legitimate searches all the time. I've complained about this to KZbin multiple times especially in the last 4-5 years. I have to constantly hit "not interested" on Illuminati, alien visitor, NASA "faked", flat earth, 9-11, etc videos on a daily basis. For you to say that is not a legit problem is ignorant, childish and Bullshit lying on your part.

I'm incredibly concerned about this move by KZbin because I think it's just another excuse to censor even more videos they don't like. The criteria for what falls under their new policy is pretty vague. We've already seen a wave of channel takedowns from people who didn't violate community guidelines at all, and this new change could cause even more.

On the subject of serious bugs. I'm not going to speak to Apple's response, but the proper protocol for reporting them. First things first you DO NOT under any circumstance publish it on a public source or send it via the support channel. The public thing is you don't want people knowing its even possible, the support channels are clogged by stupid reports and basically worthless. You instead use the Bug Bounty program all major developers have (quick google found Apple's). You then send in a very detailed report including steps to reproduce it, and then wait while KEEPING YOUR MOUTH SHUT. If the developer is decent they'll patch it quickly and... here is the fun part, SEND YOU MONEY. That's what the Bug Bounty programs do. You send them in a major issue, they fix it and pay you for bringing it to their attention. The worse the bug, the more money you get. All of this is contingent on keeping your mouth shut and not tweeting to major news organisations. Personally the largest bug bounty I've ever gotten is 2k, but I know people who have reported major issues who have gotten upwards of 50k.

Soon theory videos about KZbin itself will be suppressed... then videos disagreeing with KZbin will be taken down... I honestly think we are on that path at this point. I feel uncomfortable that companies that can, and do, suppress our speech whenever they want have a almost complete monopoly over online communications. Something needs to change, but since we all have put so much time into KZbin, Twitter, and the rest of the platforms, this won’t be happening anytime soon.
