As far as rust under a vehicle, it can be pretty much stopped in in tracks by using a lanolin based undercoat like Fluid Film and Woolwax. Just chip off loose chunks and spray coat the metal. You will have to touch up from time to time. Rubberized undercoat is the worst thing you can use as it traps moisture.
@BassManStrikesКүн бұрын

Hey Scotty. Yeah the transmissions do have an issue. The AB60 transmissions have a problem at higher miles throwing solenoid codes. Replacing the solenoids resolves the issue for a while but then the problem reappears. Supposedly a new valve body and solenoids is a more permanent fix but without guarantee. The only way to get a guaranteed repair is a complete rebuild at $6,500-$7,500 (Sarasota, FL). That’s still less expensive than buying a newer one. 2010 Tundra SR5 2wd 192,000 miles.

I have had seven Toyotas in a row including a Tacoma, FJ40, 4Runner, 2 Tundras, a Highander and now a Grand Highlander and non of them showed any corrosion anywhere after up to 100,000 miles. Before turning in my 2018 Tundra I crawled all around underneath it and found nothing. Can't complain about that.

So, absolute chaos and corporations always do as they wish are fine with you? Break it down by government agency as to what is wrong with each of them that deserves their being shut down. Are you a Russian agent? What you are wanting to do is exactly what every one of our geopolitical enemies want us to do.

Your mpg delta of 4 mpg is accurate, 14 mpg for the V8 vs 18 mpg for the V6. Over 240K miles, that's about a $12K difference or about $1500 a year. I was considering buying a used V8 Tundra and the mpg difference wasn't scaring me off.

You speak like you know what you’re talking about…. Kinda like msm talking points. Do your own research. The nation functioned at a high level before income tax, property taxes, sales taxes, state taxes, local taxes, fuel taxes, etc. This country was run on tariffs. Look it up. Or you can keep showing how misinformed you truly are.

Scotty, mo,ok ark, dosn't get much snow, and if you wash off the salt after a snow storm its not so bad. Its the NE and states like col that are mostly the problem. But the fix is an aluminum frame Sure its going a surface change But it holds up better then steel Or you go to a really high carbon SS metal and it lasts longer. And manufactures should build to fit its destinations not one truck fits all it doesn't. Stuff can be made to last a very long time for the NE part of the county sure its going to cost more. But the extra is worth it and it should be an option.

They don’t rot away in Oregon unless the truck was on the coast most of the time and someone drove it on the beach.

I see these lifted trucks in FL all the time. It's their money, but what a waste. No snow here. Totally flat, no hills, no mountainous terrain. Totally pointless. But hey, it's their money.

California cars are the most desired. Texas, New Mexico, Arizona cars have heat beaten interiors unless they were kept in climate controlled places.
@TheAzmountaineer23 сағат бұрын
I live in AZ. I buy old AZ cars and then head to the junkyard and find similar cars that were traded in or wrecked by snowbirds. Often rusted out, but great interiors because they were kept in a garage in Minnesota or Wisconsin for 15 years.

Never buy a used car or truck from Ohio. They have no inspections, and any old POS can run the roads even if you are falling through the floor due to rust. In Ohio, you can go to a junk yard, buy a whole car or truck, get it running and off you go. Brakes, who cares, safety equipment, who cares, rust, who cares. If it runs you can slap a plate on it, get your insurance, and away you go.
