YouTube LIVE: What's It Really Like being a Youtube English Teacher?

----------It’s my first KZbin LIVE video in years! I’m sitting down with my business and life partner, Shah, to talk about life, KZbin and teaching English.
It’s been a crazy five years since I started the channel in my kitchen in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
I didn’t think that five years later, I would have 4 million of you around. It’s been such a cool journey and I wanted to share some of it with you, and the day in the life of being a KZbin English teacher.
You can submit your questions in the chat section and I’ll try to answer as many of them as possible. You’ll also get to learn English live - if Shah and I mention any idioms, adjectives, or phrases that I’ve covered in one of my recent lessons, then I’ll talk a little more about it in the live video too.
This is going to be lots of fun and I hope to do more of these in the future. If you have any suggestions for live videos or anything that you want to see, then let me know in the comments.

I agree with you that non-verbal communication helps to understand the meaning and connect with the interlocutor faster. But, alas, here in Spain, unlike in Australia, we are yet immersed in the pandemic and we can't talk with our mates without a mask. Which significantly reduces the nuances of non-verbal communication. In the meanwhile, I've found a telephonic English speaker mate and I'm doing my best to practise at least once a week. When there's a will, there's a way. Stay healthy and thank you ever so much for your awe-inspiring videos!

I just discovered you channel yesterday after Googling to find out how difference countries pronounce “pergola”. I hadn’t heard it pronounced differently to how we say it in Australia until I started watching the KZbin channel “The Chateau Diaries” with Stephanie Jarvis. An Australian visitor to Chateau La Lande built the pergola over the patio, & my brain went into a spasm when I heard her pronounce pergola so differently, I though it may have been a French influence, but just this week I was watching a repeat episode of “Grand Designs New Zealand” the presenter used the same English pronunciation as Stephanie. One Google result said that Americans use the same pronunciation as we do in Australia, but then another site contradicted that Anyhow, one Google result put me into an a video you did several years ago where you compared American & Australian pronunciation’s of a few words (pergola was not one if them! 🥴😄) I since been playing various video’s & absolutely love them. I’m so glad I’m not the only one who struggles when using the words ‘effect’ & ‘affect’ at times & I have to run my use through my head before typing it👍😄 I live you channel, & love this live video explaining how it came into being. Well hey there, dear Emma and your today's mate! Firstly, I thought he's your husband I've never seen him though. Then I realized I was mistaken. A lot of thanks for this incredible real live conversation to both of you! Considering the fact I'm a new fan of mmmEnglish, I did know so much new about your life for me, I was suprised! Did you use to live in Vietnam? I've been there a one day only but I remember how high humidity and stuffiness was there well enough. Here in Khabarovsk town where I live it was 10PM as you started the lesson but I joined you with a little late. I'd like to rewatch it one more time only later so that to listen to you both repeatedly. You have a fairly gorgeous accent, soft and calming voice and I do love watching every Thursday ... oops! or a Tuesday now actually, that's really doesn't matter at all. I'm a Russian man but your personal opinion as a native English speaker, is just so excessively important for me! Can you put a score to me? Perhaps you could try with your brother's help to answer some of our questions. You could try telling us some anecdotes from your daily life.
