Toolbox Tour by Garageking, a red seal mechanic who produces KZbin videos. This is the tour of the top box, and there are many tools you need. I try to save money and buy off brand when the tool is not used much, or I have to modify the tool to make it work.

Well, the electric tools are really tempting, I mean really tempting. I just could not pull the trigger, and the air tools really do last pretty much forever. The only electric tool I do have that wasn't shown was the 1/2" drive Seesii impact gun, I use it for tires etc. I saw it on the torque test channel and it did well so I bought one. Thanks for the comments !! Bottom box should be out in a week or two : )

@@drew5992 You may be onto something. I do really like my 1/2" impact (that's really my only electric tool) and its an off brand Seesii

@@drew5992 I love my cordless ratchets but I'm starting to prefer my air 1/2 impacts again. The 1/2 electric weighs nearly twice as much as my air impact and isn't as strong. I would get electric ratchets, 1/2 air impact, and 3/8 stubby Milwaukee if I was starting out.

I like how you used a sheet of aluminum to rivet those rails in place. That’s way more space efficient than what’s available.
@GarageKing
@GarageKing 2 ай бұрын
Thank you, plus the other bonus is you can arrange your rails exactly how you want them as we know that each tool box is a little different : ) Appreciate the comment : )

You have an awesome set of tools. I wrenched on VW/Porsche since the early 1970’s. I opened a Porsche Shop in Glendale, California in 1980. I closed the shop in 1990 because the shop kept getting burglarized. The last time they used an 18 wheeler to clean out my shop. However I kept my large snap on tool box in the compressor room. I removed the wheels on the bottom box, & I mig welded square tubing & in the door to the room, making the doorway smaller than my tool box. They tried getting my box out of the room, but they were not able to get the box out of the room.
@GarageKing
@GarageKing 3 ай бұрын
Wow, that is a wild story, pretty crazy and unfortunate. You were creative with the doorway, and good for you with that. It is a bit sad you were only able to operate from 80-90. I hate how thief's can really mess things up for small business owners. hopefully karma gets them. Appreciate you sharing your story, thank you.

Hey There, appreciate the comment !! I just checked and you know I still have the bill..... I bought it November 28 1997 so it will have its 27th birthday next month. Drum roll for how much I paid...... The top box (KRL791) was 2395 and the bottom (KRL761) was 3295 (remember that's Canadian) so US would be about 1800 and 2500. I have to say I love the tool box and it has served me well. Still rolls really well. I remember I had a small Snap On set so the tool truck guy gave me exactly what I paid (including tax) to trade up to these. It was well worth it.

@@scottaddison8071 The 54" Master's series is pretty close to mine, I think yours is just the newer version of it. The 66" Macsimizer is a sweet ride. Both very high end, and can hold a ton of weight in them. You got some nice boxes there !!!
@scottaddison8071
@scottaddison8071 3 ай бұрын
@@GarageKingthe Snap-on is 30” deep vs the Macsimizer is 27” deep and I’m surprised of how much that little difference means in tool storage, especially plastic case storage, which I prefer to leave all my specialty tools in the plastic cases. I bought the Macsimizer 47 x 25 Roll cart & the matching Snap-on Roll Cart and I will probably add another Roll cart in lieu of toolboxes in the future. I do plan to add top boxes to both toolboxes soon. Everything is Orange with Chrome Trim

Couldn't help but notice the Shelby. I've been a car guy from birth because of my dad. Of all the cars I've owned, my biggest regret is selling my 13 GT500. I bought my wife the 19 GT350 as soon as they hit show rooms. I wanted to sell my 500 and get ready for the new 20-21 GT500 at the time. My wife kept saying, just keep the 13 and we will make room for it. I was so disappointed in the new 500 not having a standard option that I never even bought one. I made the mistake of buying one sports car in my life that was automatic and traded it immediately. I bought the 04 M3 with paddle shifters and traded right back in for the six speed. No car has ever felt as dangerous right off the showroom floor, stock, as the 13-14 GT500. Best car I've ever owned.
@GarageKing
@GarageKing 3 ай бұрын
Yup I'm with you, the one car I miss the most is my 14 GT500, I thought about getting a newer one, but like you no manual = no buy for me. I went through a few others and I really wish I never sold that car. I purchased it new and dam I wish I never sold it and you know the feeling with that solid rear axle. Your comment brings back memories for me. You are not alone my friend.

I love how you showed the intake manifold for that GM at 24:54min when you were describing the tap tool where did you get that?
@GarageKing
@GarageKing 3 ай бұрын
Hey There, when I was working at the dealership I received a new crate engine to install under warranty. The old engines were not sent back unless GM asked, and they had a time frame. I waited and they never asked for the engine back so I took the intake and the rest of the engine went to the scrapper. Sadly as you can see I never used it for anything, but it was a good prop for this video !!
