If he lived streamed on rumble, I'd bet he'd get the same if not more membership conversion rate. I know people like myself who go out of my way not to use YT (I came here to check comments about this episode - hoping people would point out the flaw/lie in Tim's logic) would be much MORE likely to subscribe to a user if they weren't being servants of big tech. This is also a complete cop-out because a lot of the people are on rumble, don't watch YT at all. So really all he's losing is YT ad revenue, which he refuses to come out and say. I understand why because it completely shuts down his spiel about creating an alternative culture & economy - but it's just so obviously the case. Rumble does not generate the same revenue per viewer as YT. Tim says this during the show. Sure, he might get the same number of website member conversions but the ad revenue is not 1 for 1 and he cannot maintain the business model/infrastructure with less ad revenue.

Once unionized, you only need to corrupt one person at the top of the hierarchy to control everyone... and at that point, nobody has any more power or control over their own career. I live near the BMW plant in Greer SC. The line for production is massively run by robotics. However there is a massive fleet of people who are mechanics on site that sit there 12 hours a day 3-4 days a week for regular repairs and maintenance in a designated sector of the line. Shit, I would of stayed at any of the jobs he's left, I'd definitely would be living a much easier life than I do now. Work ethics isnt what holds me back, I love working, I like hard work and the accomplishment that comes with it...there just isnt anything that I can get into locally that would lift me above the sinking line. All these people who've made it make it sound easy, "you just need to apply yourself and take risks", what they seem to forget is they were in a perfect storm where it worked out for them and the effort they put in during that storm got them where they are. If I followed Tim's exact footprint I wouldnt get anywhere near his traffic thanks to saturation of the market. He was in the perfect time, perfect algo and its unreasonable to think that anyone can do the same right now. People who are just starting to get popular where in the shit for years waiting and I definitely dont have the time, money, or resources to cut everything else off to start fresh doing my own thing - maybe if I didnt have children, if I had 100k+ put away as mentioned....but I dont. Drink it in! I was a father early in life. Spent their baby/toddler phase working my butt off to establish a career and keep mama at home. It goes by way too fast. My oldest will be 9 this year.
