I was in a similar boat actually I had around 200 subs when I started to revive my channel. I've had it for ten years, posting super random stuff, but now I am niching like a queen..haha and it's working well. I've been following strategies that I have learned in some youtube courses I am taking as well and it seems to work. My whole life, I've related more to older people than to peers my age. So I would REALLY appreciate more creators 40+ 😊. I’m 36 and found this so helpful. I accidentally fell into KZbin 7 years ago (I didn’t take it seriously then) bc I talked about changing careers via coding boot camp and that video is still my WORST yet most popular video today date. 😅 the camera quality is horrid. You know something I am facing fitness-wise right now, is I have always been fit and strong. Lifting weights etc. But after turning 45 - I don't know if it's hormones, perimena or what, but it has all become so hard. It's really weird. I get sore after training or stiff when I never used to. It just sort of started all of a sudden. Weirdest thing and a few kilos gained too, that seem to be sticking. But anyway, just wanted to share my thoughts if it helps you think of some ideas for your already way successful youtube channel. :) xoxo

I post one short every day and one long form video every week. It’s hard, but I do to with a smile. The community that I am building is an amazing. It’s full of women and men from all over the world that are inspired by my attitude, words, and goal setting. If I can inspire someone to look at their finances now, find a way to save and be able to retire early to travel the world then I made my dream come through. I want to help others. I really wish KZbin would give our channel a little push just enough to know our content is even worth it. I will be the first to admit that our first videos are a hot mess but we have been constantly getting better and narrowing down our niche but it just seems we are not making it into the algorithm.

Omg your videos are hilarious. I agree I just watched the super power one and you had me laughing at 47 sec. I love that your channel is about marriage, life, adventures as a couple. So nice to see. The one thing I would say, which is being mentioned in all the classes I am taking, is just jump right in with you two at the beginning of the video and place the beautiful intro that you have created later in the intro. You could start right away with "today we are talking about 5 unique date idea" or whatever the topic is and then show the intro video. The reason I say this is because you two are so magnetic, authentic and full of love and energy that I think, seeing you first, telling what the video is about and then jumping to the intro, might help to get viewers engaged in your videos faster. You all make that channel with your energy. So show you first to attract the viewers into your channel at the getgo. Just a thought, you don't have to take my advice, but just want to share what I have been learning. xoxo

You are so correct about KZbin being underrepresented for older people. I started my KZbin channel 10 years ago and everything that was being pushed was geared towards younger audiences but now we are getting content that is relatable to an older audience. I didn’t seem to fit in with what those younger audiences wanted. Now at 54, I am finally finding my tribe here on KZbin. After ten years of working on KZbin, it seems like I am now hitting my stride by just creating content that suits older audiences.

We just started our KZbin channel and we are in our mid-fifties. We are having so much fun, but it is hard work. It's never too late to learn and to help people. I fully agree. I started my channel 4 years ago, i now have 11.2k Subscribers. I'm now 60, and i see myself doing this for many years to come. I'll keep doing this for as long as my body lets me. The money doesn't hurt either. One word of warning though, make sure you set one day a month aside to plan what your going to create for the next month. You can always change the video if you find something else that matches your niche better. You don't have to be overly strict with content for that day. Not having ideas for YT is the fastest way to burn out. Having ideas you want to share, keeps you motivated, and helps you keep moving forward. I burned out last year, but a few weeks ago i decided to sit down and brainstorm some ideas, now i have over a years worth of content available to create. This is motivating me to get back to creating 3 videos a week again. And get yourself enough sleep or you'll burn out even faster.

Yay! Thanks for this video! Very relatable! I started a KZbin channel for fun during the pandemic and this past spring I rebooted it at age 46! I share my hobbies and interests, cooking, camping, vanlife, etc. It’s a fun and creative outlet and helps me feel more productive. It’s given me such a boost. I can’t remember where it came from but I heard something that really resonated with me, a mantra “create not consume.” It was a goal to move from someone who just consumes to someone who creates!

Today I will receive the last part of my small home studio and those are the acoustic panels. I made some video's before but never placed them on YT. I always considered them "practice", but this time I will go full in. Although I disagree with you on one thing, and that is that you consider yourself an ordinary woman with grey hair, (you are more than that, and people see that) I think you are right that I should just get started. Once I found an engaging niche, I quickly realized that this could actually be something. It’s only been a couple months of continuous action.
