Hello KZbin Creators, I really respect that you guys lowered the requirements to 500 subscribers and 3000 watch hours but i feel like its very hard to accomplish this without including music that hooks viewers in. I think that you guys should allow creators that have copyrighted content to have their channels monetized with the exception of the copyrighted content.

It is NOT easy at all to earn money if you deal with socially important to topics or cultural ones. And then if you are spreading art it is not possible to cover even a part of the costs. That's why practically all channels dedicated, as mine, to the art of flamenco, do not maintain active for a long periods...

There is no easy way to contact KZbin as a creator. The help link within studio says that there is a live chat and an email option, but there never is. I am forced to come here and post a commend, and hope someone responds.

Keep on checking everyday for the live chat option on those help sites. They are real, but they are only available during certain times. It’d be nice if they let us know when their chat service was down/going through maintenance. As for the email service, yeah I have never seen that anywhere despite them listing it as a way to contact them.

@@monroemann I don’t have any insight on that. Sounds like a very bizarre bug. In their video they say the watch hours need to be “valid public”. There might be some sort of system in place that detects watch hours as being invalid, although whatever criteria KZbin has for that is probably not specified on any of their help sites, but I could be wrong.

@@WryHarpy But that makes no sense. In the very same KZbin Studio app it says that I have more than 190 hours of watch time per month. Not on private videos. Public videos. Yet the earn tab says I have just 147 watch hours over the last 12 months? Who can I talk to about this?

@@monroemann I’m not trying to justify KZbin’s weirdness, just guessing more or less. Your best bet is to keep checking the KZbin support pages to see if the live chat option shows up. Even if it seems like it’s never there just check back every day until it is. That’s what I had to do to even get the smallest bit of help.

i have created a youtube channel and have been posting videos ans shorts for sometime, my question is that i have used youtube promote video option to promote some of my videos, i have not been enabled monetisation as of yet because have to complete 1000 subscribers,Does the watch time of my promoted videos count for the 4000 watch time i must get? ive read some articles saying promoted videos watch time is not calculated for the watch time 4000. ? please clarify me this question please?

A message appeared on the screen (wish I screen captured) that said something along the lines of my channel not being eligible for monetization due to my location - I live in the U.S. Are there states where you can't get monetized? Super important to know before I spend countless hours & resources trying to build the channel. Since I don't yet qualify for the YPP, I can't reach out directly to KZbin. PLEASE HELP. Thank you.

Hey there! Great questions! 🌟 For the first one, I totally get the frustration with the thumbnails for Shorts. As far as I know, KZbin is working on more customization features, but they haven't given a specific timeline yet. Fingers crossed it happens soon! 🤞 For the second one, clickable links in Shorts comments have been a bit tricky lately. The eligibility algorithm is incorrect. My channel has over 188 public watch hours just this month, and at least 800 over the last 12 months, yet on the 'earn' tab in creator studio, it's been stuck at 148 public watch hours for months (for the last 365 days) when in reality, I have considerably more than that. Same thing for the short views---the number there does not in any way match up with what it says elsewhere in the Creator Studio app. It's very frustrating--when will you fix this?

@youtubecreators hi, when posting a new video with shorter length than the previous video, you get a message that CTR is good, but people are not choosing to watch as long as other videos. Then, the video is not pushed on the platform. This is impossible to happen if you are posting a video 25 mins vs 8 mins. This must be treated in a different way to give each video on the channel what is deserved and should not be connected in the algorithm. Thanks you

Thank you! Well I have a reaction Channel. I post 3 videos per day and at least 1 short, I like and reply to every comment having individual conversations with each commenter. I try to be positive and respectful in every video. Also I spend a lot of time on the thumbnails because each video has it's own thumbnail photo that I take immediately after recording the video. I feel like consistency is key and don't worry about the ups and downs of the roller coaster, think about it as a business for long term success. @@SR_10

I am part of several FB groups where content creators discuss the process and the NUMBER ONE reason people get rejected is that they are re-using other people's content, usually shorts, tik tok videos, and Instagram reels. So if you do that, don't be surprised if you get rejected. Or at LEAST be very "transformative" if you do commentary/reaction videos.
