The Kid and the Camera was made specifically for the Night Mind channel's annual Halloween Candy Bowl in 2022. The candy bowl is where fans make their own short horror films based on the theme for that year. The theme for 2022 was "Under the Stairs: Memories of Fear".

Hello its your japanese friend here for japanese yokai story time, the yokai may be a Tsurube otoshi or 釣瓶落とし つるべおとし in japanese, the Tsurube otoshi are giant heads of humans, tengu or oni. They sometimes appear surrounded by flames resembling large fireballs with facial features. Spending most of their lives in trees (preferring pine, kaya and other conifers because of their size), they live deep in forest trails or just outside of town, where there are many tourists. Tsurube otoshi range in size from a normal human head to up to two meters in diameter. Hope this helped and Mata ne, soshite oyasumi!

Me too, when I watch an analog horror video it especially helps with the accessional joke or the “what if this is jus not scary?” It also helps with other types of horror when someone is giving a voiceover, or just scary things in general.😅 (Edit) I usually watch scary media close before i go to bed for some stupid reason so something that makes it a bit less scary always helps. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

There's a prequel and a sequel to this video. The first one is a seemingly uninvolved video about soul corp allowing you to talk to the dead through a device, then this, then after this is a video about a clown machine which is seemingly a more completed concept of Tobias. If you want to make a nice video that isn't just reiterating what was clearly displayed in the video I'd suggest talking about all three videos and breaking down what the plot is as not a lot of people have actually done that yet.

I think the second video is suppose to be what it feels like to watch the nighttime TV shows as a kid, like when cartoon network or Nickelodeon ends at night and Adult Swim comes on and you get scared.

To add on to your theory I've interpreted some parts of it the part with the creepy sun was probably a warning that appeared when the adult programming block came on, I think the rope worm ad was actually an animal abuse PSA with the message being pets are not toys I think it featured a snake as the animal because the rope worm looks similar to one, the rainbow face was probably a bumper, and the creepy puppet was probably an adult show.

I understood it as a representation of enabling a bad habit. Although it's not that harmful, staying up late and watching TV for hours can be viewed as a bad habit. We, the watchers, are told to turn off the TV and the longer we keep it on and continue watching, the worse it gets. The more pain the people on the TV are put in. I think the broadcaster has a big part in this. Us continuing to watch is enabling him to continue making the broadcast even though it's obviously hurting him.

One of my favorite creepy animations was this short film called "Smile". I remember seeing it on a Top 15s video years ago and the song in the background always stuck with me. "Bad breath Joe" was one that just unsettled me lol

Tsurube otoshi I believe is what your looking for for Nariomarudarside’s animation. Tsurube otoshi are a gigantic disembodied heads of either a human, a tengu, or an oni. Sometimes they appear wreathed in flames like large fireballs with facial features. Even if they live mostly high in trees it's possible someone before the three victims got attacked and concealed the Tsurube otoshi into the rock.
