I remember the first time they got crap for having terrible therapists in like 2014-15? Why did everyone just forget and start sponsoring them again?!? They've been evil for over a decade now!

It absolutely is a scam.... My first appointment the therapist was late by 45 mins then just rescheduled and then next day was again late by one hour

I got ghosted by my therapist, on my first appointment. They didn't reschedule, find another therapist for me, nope, I got ghosted and still had to pay for a month before I could cancel

WTF. Therapists don’t need to be making more than 30k a year if they’re only seeing 20 patients a week.Thats like 3 Patients a day. All they do is just listen. They don’t have a job that requires prescribing medication and actually applying critical thinking skills. It’s almost impossible for a therapist to get their license pulled unlike a nurse, who even blinks wrong can be sued for malpractice, have the BAR scrutinize their medical knowledge, etc. therapists are complete shxt. Most of them don’t do jack shxt, aren’t worth a damn. So yeah, they’re paid fittingly. Only deserve 10k a yr if u ask me

You missed the point. And clearly seemed disconnected with reality when even the youtuber making this videos actually acknowledge that it is quite low when compared to the bills the therapists had to pay and will be even more if they were still paying for their student loan. That amount is of course exorbitant if I apply my country currency here and more than enough to live comfortably as middle class but I am aware that the amount might be just barely liveable for the US.

You’re so disconnected from reality dude. A caseload of 20 patients can be huge - you do realize that therapists don’t just see people who feel a little sad, right? Therapists do life skill training for people with intellectual disabilities, parent training for parents of kids with severe emotional issues, they provide a link to reality for schizophrenics. Lots of patients are seen 2x per week or more. They hold group therapy sessions. Better help is designed for people who feel a little sad, not people with severe mental and emotional issues. Part of my schooling to become a therapist has included the following: what to do if a patient kills themselves, what to do if you have a violent patient who tries to hurt you in a session, how to handle billing and insurance issues, how to handle a patient who is staking you, etc. Do you think you’re equipped to handle that for free? Also being a therapist can be dangerous. It’s also expensive. To be a therapist you need at least a masters degree and you have to do a residency. I’m not even done with my bachelors and I’m over 30k in debt, I pay 700$ a month in loans. You want me to survive on less than a fast food worker makes? Why, because you’re butthurt for some reason? Did you have a bad therapist or something??

If you feel it is such an easy job, why didn’t you become a therapist? Also the just listening part and how a therapist doesn’t need to use any critical thinking skills…. This makes me believe that you either a) have no idea what therapy actually is because you‘ve never been and only think you know from pop culture, or b) have had therapy but it was a bad experience for you so now you just generalize and believe all therapists are like the one you met. Either way, you forget that therapist are humans too and what they discuss with their clients/patients doesn’t leave them untouched.
