It's not just small creators they did it to me today and I have over 84,000+ subscribers and over 85 million channel views they screwed me as well because last year I was diagnosed with kidney cancer so I wasn't able to upload much and after being a partner for a decade they did it to me also!!

I had over 100k watch hrs and 990 subscribers and numerous videos that had over 80k views in the last few years and still got kicked out. It's ridiculous, but unless you have over 100k the partner program is pointless anyway.

You might think this is crazy but I pretty much only watch small channels because they are not relying on making money through their videos. I prefer watching honesty instead of the marketing puppets who receive free products in exchange for PR.

You're not crazy - you're smart. Haha I completely agree with you. There are still a couple of bigger channels I enjoy watching, but I much prefer KZbinrs who are under 100k... so much more genuine (obviously I have a bias though)!
