Very cool journey to watch. Keep in mind, and I think in Australia, you will be eligible for the 3000 hour count. Just hitting the thousand subscribers won’t do it. You’ll have to hit that 3000 hours watched. That’s the hard part 😅. Oh. You literally just mentioned that as I was typing this hahaha

500 subscribers and 3000 watch hours gets you fan based monetisation like members areas but to be eligible for adsense you need 1000 subscribers and 4000 watch hours.

I started a long form only channel and it seems to be getting nearly as much Public Watch Time Hours as my main channel. It has 8 subs after a month. The main channel has 715 subs after ten months and is just slightly ahead, in hours, for the same time period. I just learned from other KZbinrs that one way to get more hours is to place a link to a playlist of similar videos at the end of each video. That way the playlist shows in the suggestions next to you video rather than other KZbinrs, random videos. And, if you do that with all videos it gives viewers a chance to binge watch your channel. Going to try that myself.

@@rachelleardle_thanks for asking!!! it has been an unbelievable week on KZbin. We put out a video last Thursday and it shot up to 1 out of 10 subscribers are coming in every day where it was one every two or three days. Working on the next video now. I did the 3 thumbnails also thank you for all the time you spent giving advice to us. We can all learn from each other. The subscribers also looked at some of my videos, and gave some advice on that as well.

@@rachelleardle_ I keep going over the analytics to see if I could see anything. It could be the title and the 3 thumbnails . I know KZbin are pushing small channels. At the end of the day if they doesn’t click to watch it does not matter how much KZbin pushes out your video. Have a wonderful day !

I’m finding it extremely difficult to get subscribers! But I’ve found that Shorts gain subscribers, while the long format get a lot more watch time.

I actually love your background! It looks like you could seriously be a newborn photographer with so many blankets and baskets! As a newborn photographer, I love it! LOL. Yes, I know. YAY for green arrows and not grey ones! SOOO proud of you! That's awesome! :) I'm playing around with KZbin shorts. They don't count as watch hours, as you already know... but I'm not trying to monetize necessarily right now so it doesn't matter to me. I have a (very small and currently cold) FB group of what used to be hot, interested clients (totally my fault I lost them 2 years ago). Anyway... I'm using KZbin shorts to give as free content within the group and public page. They don't take me super long to create, they build the channel, and I can share them into the group and/or public page so that I'm showing up. Right now, I don't have any customers that are following me closely enough to notice I'm sharing the exact same thing over and over again. As I continue growing, I may stop KZbin shorts all together, or I may use them for something else as I learn more about them. I don't know. But for now, KZbin keeps all my video content together and it lets me make content for kids, say 10 and younger, that doesn't take long to piece together. I also don't put my brand on them. Maybe I should. IDK. Right now though, it's not branded as most shorts I see anywhere else are also not branded?

haha thanks. I am actually staying with my In Laws near the snowy mountains so far this borrowed my MIL's sowing room to film for two weeks. That is such a great idea to repurpose content for your Facebook group. Did you know you can schedule posts in your groups as well? Might be worth looking into bulk creating some posts. Branded in what way?

@@rachelleardle_ I have started batching things, but in order to keep up with my new course creations, it's coming in waves. I can't batch all my projects at once because if I make say 5 courses of one class all at once, I forget to make 1 of the other and run out of time. So, it's a process as a one man show... but I'm trying! : ) I'm SURE over the course of the next, say, 6 months.... I'll be batching a LOT more often!
