If you don’t mind me answering for you, let me give you my two cents on that. Grasp Kat is very iffy. Champs that go grasp are two of the following: tanks that deal dmg strictly through tank items to synergize with grasp (e.g. sunfire, titanic, heartsteel, etc.) or extremely high dps nukers with a low survivability in the early lane phase but are able to proc grasp quite often (e.g. kayle, teemo, gp, etc.). Former is self-explanatory but the latter is where people are using as a potential breakthrough on some of the champs. We see on worlds with Smolder and Aurora with grasp because they bring mid-late game potential in return. Kassadin used to go grasp against melee back in 2019 (was it? Can’t remember exactly). But Kat? Believe it or not, she is heavily dependent on runes. She loses a lot of her dmg without going her usual builds. If you wanna use her with grasp, then I recommend you to understand this: your team needs a main dealer elsewhere cause Kat can’t. Grasp build is preferred to just go hybrid tank with heartsteel, or just use her at top against champs she can proc grasp more often with. (E.g. sunfire-heartsteel-wits end-terminus-jaksho-sorc boots. Notice all the on-hits are magic dmg oriented except heartsteel (hence sorc), and items are focused on durability and sustain dmg. You can also use rift as main core and build from there) Kat is supposed to be a nuker but her dmg isn’t consistent without proper runes. It’d be wise of you to try a few games in the normals before using her in ranked.
