It's ridiculous how the police ignored the pleas of his parents for a psychological evaluation. This all seemed very avoidable.

The dude was literally in the midst of a psychotic break... he didn't "choose" to suicide himself. Not only did his parents call the police. But his parents' neighbor, a professional psychiatrist, also called the police pleading to have him committed, and saying explicitly he was manic and a danger to himself and others. Police absolutely failed. There are videos of the police interaction as well as 911 phone calls from parents and from psychiatrist. The police officer claiming he had to violate a law to be sent for psych evaluation is patently false. His incompetence or stupidity arguably rises to the level of negligent homicide. He was told explicitly this kid was mentally unwell and a danger to himself and the public by a psychiatrist. He was also informed about the kid speeding in the wrong way lane within the previous 24 hours. The kid telling his parents he was going to do it again. Since he was 18 and owned the car they had no recourse to take his keys. Officer does fuck all and hours later exactly what he was told was going to happen happened. Officer will face 0 repercussions. Cannot even be sued despite being arguably the most responsible party involved, given the kid could be legally considered "not sane" at the time. This video title is poorly chosen. It's prejudicial and misleading.

So sad for the innocent victims and their families. But also so sad that he didn’t realise he had such a following he could have re-invented himself, and done similar again.

@kaiparker1756
@kaiparker1756 Жыл бұрын
Or just hit nobody? Hitting a semi still causes risk of injury or death to the driver of the semi bc of Trevor’s speed, and still would’ve caused other injuries and possible deaths for people who couldn’t stop in time. The solution was not to be a fucking idiot and risk others peoples lives for your own problem

Only a matter of time for him to find a semi-truck in the first place while driving on the opposite direction.

At those speeds, IDK if even the semi driver would have survived, that is a lot of force, and many of them don't wear seatbelts.

Not only did the parents call the police requesting invol psych eval. But an actual psychiatrist called 911 and spoke with the police explicitly telling them the kid was manic, a danger to himself and others, and needed to be evaluated before someone was hurt. And the police were also informed the kid had been speeding down the road the wrong way within the past 24 hrs and all parties were terrified next time it would end in tragedy. Police did nothing. Worse than nothing bc they didn't even suggest the parents try and take him to the ER for a psych evaluation. Instead they falsely claimed they couldn't do such a thing unless the person had committed a crime they could prove. Videos of the police interaction w parents and 911 calls are out there. Kid was having a psychotic break. Police were informed exactly what was going to happen. And only some hours later exactly that happened. No police accountability, obviously.

@@2010hyundaielantra I have a friend who used to suffer from it, thankfully he doesn't know how to drive, but I did have to chase him on foot once to try and stop him as he ran towards oncoming traffic! Scary stuff, but he finally seems to be doing better now. Also thankful it was a road with pretty low traffic that only goes 25-30 MPH and good visibility.
