Brian Shaffer is another case that's insane. This case happened in my hometown of Columbus, Ohio. A bar about 7 miles from me. He was on camera all night, then when they watched the video when trying to find him after the missing report was filed. The video showed him never leaving the building. They said the building was under construction but there was no way into the construction part of the building. That was in 2006 I think or 08 I can't remember but nothing has been uncovered ever since. I think it's so sad, and such a wild case. Also, hit home because of being in my town and so close down the road from me.

"The Nutty Putty tragedy is horrific." ------------------------------------------------------ Yes it is. @@kenthompson5723 Nutty Putty was never about leadership. It was an open hole on a desert slope that young people just heard about and would go and crawl into. It was never a draw for experienced cavers because there wasn't any spectacular cave scenery and the hole ran only a few yards. Authorities never became involved with it because it was never a problem spot until someone became stuck and then died there. Once the death happened, it was immediately filled and sealed.

Honestly, the Madeline mccann thing is a horrible tragedy, but as a father of two: I would have NEVER left my kids in that room and then went out to dinner. No no no, completely unacceptable. *Nowadays we all know what most likely happened to the Roanoke colony, but everyone is too scared of being non-PC to say it, and to sponsor proving it.* At the time, that colony was the "invasive species" and the natives were the most likely ones to suffer from that "invasive species", and the most likely ones to benefit from capturing them. At the times those people had almost no experience with natives, and most of them likely would have only known to call the natives Croatoan. Sadly, being PC takes precedence over facts nowadays, so nobody wants to conclude that, and the ones who do get shot-down immediately as racist. Even though there was nothing racist about the natives wanting to extinguish this known-unknown category of threat. Even though even now many tribes kill people because they are the type of threats that are classified as "known-unknowns"

But the dog was too scared/nervous and refused. Really strange. Strange why Connie and Ace would leave the camp site and where was Ace that whole time? Could be he was with Connie’s body and didn’t want to leave it, or he somehow got separated from her and survived long enough to be rescued himself.

Dogs are really loyal. He probably stayed with her until she passed away and then finally after a few days gave up and left her. They may have done that…but it’s still a theory. I think there was some genetic analysis of the descendants of Native American groups living in the area, showing some typically European DNA mixed in….but, there was always inter-marriage over the decades, including later, so hard to say if it’s from Roanoke colonists. And there was Croaton or something similar carved in a tree, but who knows why that was there. Some parent could have been teaching their kid how to spell the name of the original inhabitants of the area, or it could be a boundary marker, or whatever.

William Terrell's foster mother was just found guilty of assault on another child, stalking and intimidation also of the same little girl. Can't convince me poor little William was killed on accident, that witch was more than likely slapping him around and met his demise purposefully!

I'm Australian. If it helps, the way you feel is the way that almost all Australians feel. We do not believe them. We know they hurt that little boy and the police know it too. Im struggling to believe that they killed William by accident. You call for help in accidents. Murder meanwhile, from a temper tantrum, a punch, a push. That can damage a little child all too easily. What makes these kinds of cases particularly difficult here in Australia is that the police are very tight lipped about investigations in comparison with law enforcement in other countries. We have our gut feelings and so do the detectives but they have to be thorough and investigations taken a lot of time. 😢

I went hiking in Oahu in April with a group of travellers and the landscape is so unforgiving, and the vegetation is so thick. We took the "wrong" path on our hike, it was way steeper and more remote than we were expecting, and we kept commenting on how if we slipped and went even a few feet off the path we'd be screwed. Even the well-trodden paths were hard to navigate, and there was 0 phone service. I had scary dreams the following night about getting lost! Damn, that poor guy.

30:50 There are some details about Daylenn Pua that you should really mention about that case. The path he was on is closed to the public because it is falling apart and very delapidated. It was built during WW2 for a radio station at the top of the mountain. That being said it does not mean you cannot simply jump a gate and get onto it. In fact theres many points where you can get onto it. That man in the background was found and interviewed, he was a botanist who was collecting samples. This is the most likely scenario, he was climbing the trail, lost his footing and fell off. Nobody knows where he landed, the hikers that heard him a couple of days later couldnt figure out where he was either. He must have died before being rescued.

The Kenny Veach case has always intrigued me. Another guy has attempted to follow his foot steps to try and find this mysterious cave that Kenny spoke of. He's found a couple of places, but thinks it may have been covered up, not naturally. He can't open or move rocks because apparently that's a crime in that area (something about not disturbing the natural things as it's considered a preservation area). Kenny could so easily have decided to end his own life as there are stories of him suffering from depression and not doing so well in his career ventures, and that if he wanted to disappear he knew enough that nobody would ever find him. Or we could go down the rabbit hole and there really is a cave, he got too nosy and interested in something he shouldn't be interested in and was taken/made to disappear etc. I feel so bad for this guy. It seems he just wanted to be happy but had demons (metaphorical ones) that stopped him from living the life he wanted.

And for the note “Don’t believe what Yoko says” I became curious if the father, or possibly the mother, suffered from dementia. It’s quite common that the spouse of someone suffering from dementia writes notes as a reminder for all sorts of things that the dementia patient forgets. I am Zimbabwean now living in England, but when I was a kid in the 80s and 90s we used to go on holidays up in that Mountain Region. Everybody knows that Mt Nyangani is not somewhere to be taken lightly. Whenever we drove past it I would get stomach aches and chills but I would be unable to take my eyes off it....despite being uncomfortable. There was a heavy sense of something paranormal that would sit with me until it was out of sight. But I was always drawn to it.

In January, 2024, it was reported that an explorer named Tony Romeo may have found the remains of Amelia Earhart's plane at the bottom of the ocean: A 16-person crew began a roughly 100-day search in September 2023, scanning over 5,200 square miles (13,468 square kilometers) of seafloor. They narrowed their probe to the area around Howland Island, a mid-Pacific atoll between Papua New Guinea and Hawaii. But it wasn’t until the team reviewed sonar data in December that they saw the fuzzy yellow outline of what resembles a plane.

If interested search for David Hyatt and Richard D Hall and scroll way down to a 4h video which is only the tip of the ice Berg he discovered. His channel with three series about the McKans got deleted. Why? Only fear makes you delete something. Who is censoring the most internet? North Korea, they lie to all of their folks. @@eadweard. Class and race are often linked. Class still matters, especially when it comes to child welfare. Poor families are regularly harassed and have children taken away for minor things while children in well off homes are abused for years before anyone finally steps in. All because they assume someone with money must be a good parent, especially if the kids have their basic needs met. While a month we who struggles to hold down a job but loves her kids is more at risk of seeing intervention.

That's a good point. I know the search was extremely extensive by a lot of top notch divers and nothing was found. They even tested the water to see if there was any evidence of a decomposing body and there wasn't. Strange situation. I've been to Vortex many times and was there a month ago. I always think of Ben and his parents when I hear Vortex. The water is very very cold. Like ice water cold.

Cave diving is dangerous and Vortex had a gate on that opening before Ben got in. He was seen as skilled enough by the staff that they didn't stop him from going in though. Returning his body would actually bring good press, not bad. Body recovery from cave systems is dangerous but admirable. I personally think Ben stumbled onto a deeper part of that cave. It's been theorized to actually go much farther than what is recorded. He may have gotten disoriented and trapped in an undiscovered chamber. He was a skilled diver and may have thought he could handle more exploration, but I think his recent life troubles may have clouded his judgment of the risks involved.

McCann case: Mother says they are responsible parents. Responsible parents don't leave their children alone. I don't care how close they were or how often they checked on them. I think poor Madeline is no longer with us.

“Don’t leave their children alone”…” I don’t care how close they are” So… you think they need to be within a foot of every kid at all times? Stay up all night? Never take out the trash without taking all the kids along… never cook without forcing every kid to sit in a circle right next to the stove… take them all out holding hands to mow the lawn… If the kids are asleep, and you’re checking on them in person every 15 minutes, that honestly sounds MORE diligent than being asleep and not checking on them for 5 or 6 hours, in my opinion. And I’m hardly going to say parents should just not sleep the first 10 years of their kid’s life. 🤷🏼‍♀️

This case is very weird for a lot of reasons. Kate McCann has refused to answer something like 40 questions put to her. If you're not guilty and have nothing to hide why would you refuse to answer questions? I believe Madeline's blood was found in the boot of a car Kate hired. Sure kids have accidents and even blood noses but why in the boot? I believe that's one of the questions she won't answer. Another weird thing is how much media coverage there's been of the case and how much taxpayer money has been spent on the search for Madeline. Many kids have gone missing since but within a month there won't be any more coverage. Why is there still so much coverage for this child and not others? Why has the government handed over so much money for searches so many times? Why don't they do that for all missing children? There's just something really unusual with almost every aspect of this case. Personally I don't trust the McCann's.

these were really young children and the parents and friends were at the restaurant a good several minutes walk away. They did not have full views of the place they were staying at from the restaurant table, and there was another access point to the apartment that could not be seen from where they were sitting. The child was 4-5 years old for goodness sakes! You don't leave kids that age unattended. They WERE irresponsible parents. I can't fathom going to a separate building several minutes walk away leaving such a young child, with even younger twins in the apartment. No, you don't do that if you are responsible.@@bookcat123

You should do another one of these iceberg disappearance videos because there are so many that were missed, including the case of Lars Mittank. I know you did a short video back in the early days, but this one just really bothers me, how he just ran from the airport into the woods never to be seen again. If someone was hiding/wondering around an airport, in most countries, for security reasons they would be located rather quickly. He was so genuinely afraid for his life that he ran off, was he really in trouble or was it just a mental illness starting to appear? These kinds of cases are why I would be ok with having a tracking chip placed in myself (heck I have one on my cat for that reason), how people can just vanish and we never find one trace of them is just something so haunting and scary. My heart goes out to their families.

Mackayla Bali had asked a stranger (the woman in the Tim Hortons) to help her rent a room. I'm wondering if she approached others during her day, getting more desperate as the hours went by, and finally found someone wo agreed. But possibly the "helpful" stranger harmed her, took her. She was supposedly meeting someone or trying to travel to Regina with someone she only knew from the internet, possibly that person could've harmed her - I don't think anyone ever came forward claiming they were the person she was in contact with and planning to meet.
