No one outside of England rates Ashley Cole as the best LB. He like John Terry played in a defensive system under Mourinho which enhanced defensive qualities. Roberto Carlos is the obvious best LB in terms of revolutionizing the full back role & him being so amazing in attack in terms of passing, crossing, shooting but also pure speed, so sound defensively. Marcelo is a close 2nd for me because he was a nr.10 Ronaldinho type of full back. Rio is hardly rated outside of the EPL as top 10 CB. Terry might barely make it. Edit: "If Roberto Carlos had more to his game"... what? Ashley Cole had more to his game than Roberto Carlos? Have you seen his goals, assists?

It's always hard to comment on historic players but if we are going off of recent players (90s onwards) who we have watched I would back a shout for iniesta. Comfortably the second best midfielder behind Zidane in recent history. Won everything (club trophies) that he could've won. Honestly cannot think of anyone better other than him other than Zidane unless u come up with a historic player like Platini who I've never watched

You can definitely rate players you haven't watched. I was born in 2002 and didn't watch Ronaldo or Ronaldinho and can still rate them top 10. I don't have to have watched Michael Jordan to know he's better than Lebron. They had no sports science, playing on shit pitches. I could make an argument for it being harder to be better back then.
