A huge factor in why K pop fans can be so intense is because K pop artists share more of themselves with their fans than American artists do. For instance you'll have extremely popular groups/artists constantly doing reality shows, game shows, live chats, etc. not to mention in the training stages, some like to be documented so you can really get to know them before they even start in the industry properly.

I used to share kpop vids on FB all the time (when we used to use it) and finally had a friend ask why I'm so into it... she used to be really into dancing, and it doesn't make sense to me why a dancer wouldn't like kpop, they 100% go hand in hand.
