A half dead king dragging himself across a huge room to ensure his daugther isn't screwed over in politics... his brother, who low key shit talked him for decades, is by his side helping him up the steps to the throne, because now Viserys shows the power Daemon always wanted him to project. Viserys dismisses his guards to not show weakness, but accepts his brothers help and even allows himself to groan louder in his pain. And Daemon places the crown on Viserys' head he never wanted for himself. Just all around phenomenal writing, acting and directing. This sequence by itself puts all of Rings of Power to shame.

Daemon's only problem with his brother was the fact he was too foolish to see the snakes he surrounded himself with, or was too weak to address it. He saw through otto and his hunger for power. The entire civil war wouldve been avoided had he been his brothers hand.

I think he would just loved the idea of his brother offering that position to him but his mind and body always seek the battlefield for honor, glory and fame.

@@mp6640 Considering how offended he was by Viserys not giving him the position it's safe to assume he would have accepted, if Daemon spend that much time away, it's because he wanted to proves himself to his brother but despite being an incredible fighter, general and arguably the best commander of the city watch to ever exist, he really wanted only his brother's absolute trust

Vaemond is not being usurped whatsoever. For one thing, Laenor knew about Lucerys's biological parentage but still considered him his son, so morally Lucerys is Corlys's legitimate heir. For another, Lucerys's bastardy cannot be proven in any way, so legally he is Corlys's heir as well. And for a third, _even if Lucerys's bastardy were to be proven,_ Corlys's heir would be Baela, not Vaemond. A daughter comes before a brother. Vaemond was the one trying to usurp Lucerys or Baela's birthright.
