A Flight from Richmond, Virginia to Chicago O'Hare Airport

After a great week of train travel (my Train Odyssey 4) and a driving & sightseeing tour of Virginia, North and South Carolina, I finally flew home. It was a nice day for flying, at least until near the end, so I shot video of the flight.
Sadly, on that same day, one of my favorite vintage airplanes, the B-17 "Nine-O-Nine" owned by the Collings Foundation (I have two videos of flying on it) crashed on landing back east. I did not know about that at the time I took THIS flight.

Mr.Youtuba,your videos keep getting better n better. I love your Train Odyssey videos. Then i saw your video of the air craft carrier, that was to very educational and interesting. Today i stumbled on to your flight video, i don't know why i didn't get notification;i am subscribed to your channel. I hate to be a party pooper,but from my window seat that plane needed some serious maintenance, there was some serious vibration on your take off roll, and on your climb out of Richmond, and on your descent into Chicago, once you touched down i wandered if the pilots was going to get it stopped. I truly believe that the main gear was shot, now when they got on the brakes that's when i got worried about the next passengers. That aircraft needed to be put out of service until it got some TLC. Glad you made it, Yes the crash of the B-17 was sad to hear. Keep the videos coming.

Very nice and informative. Thanks for sharing. I was in the aircraft financing business and helped finance an EMB 145 for a regional subsidiary of Air France. Very nice aircraft. Unfortunately it's commercial success was hampered by the then surge in fuel price, which brought back the twin turboprop regional aircraft in the competition.

Yeah that was sad to hear about that B-17 going down in Connecticut. Coming back to land after some engine issues and something went wrong on approach.

The plane in the beginning of this video is ,I assume . the one you flew on. It looks like a private jet. Maybe it's am air taxi. Is this part of your Odyssey experience?

Dan Mathers, not sure what you were looking at. The airplane seen taxiing to the gate at the start of the video is indeed the plane I flew on, but it is pretty clearly emblazoned with the words "United Express" on the fuselage, and the tail clearly has the United/Continental logo........so, not a private jet.

When I was younger I could never manage to fall asleep on a flight. Now, after thousands of takeoffs and landings, I can’t seem to keep my eyes open much after departure. When I hear the engine spin up and the wheels roll down the runway, I nod off almost immediately. Even when watching on video it’s like a lovely lullaby.
