Nightrider Glaive and Dragon Halberd are my favorite so I’m glad they got love here. Didn’t even realize the change to uncharged heavies for the Nightrider. Which uncharged heavies received the most drastic change cause of that patch?

The Vulgar Militia Shotel has VERY GOOD dexterity scaling when Lightning Infused, one of the highest in the game, especially for the AR it has. Interestingly, none of the halberds shown here had a lightning infusion comparison, which is a shame. At 17 Strength and 99 Dex, it has 781 AR: only 8 AR less than the Lightning Guardian Swordspear, but with a easier to use movepool, 1 less strength (so you can use 16 strength), and 1 less weight unit. At lower dex like 60, the gap widens due to how obscene the Swordspear's base damage is, but the Shotel can match it at higher dex levels. Just saying that at these levels, it has 392 Lightning damage, while the highest (Lightning Great Katana) is 412 lightning 💫💫

Loretta war sickle is actually really good and the unique ash of war on the weapon is different from the ash of war you can equip on to other weapons. For starters Loretta’s war sickle get insane AR at high levels. Then the Loretta’s slash on Loretta’s war sickle scales off AR…while the ash of war version scales on Dex and int. In others words the ash of war is the most damaging on the Loretta’s ash of war. So at higher level this weapon is actually very good.

Dragon Halberd is absolutely disgusting for invasions. Hitting with the first part of the skill basically makes the follow up slam a true combo, and in my experience hitting with both parts usually ends up 1 shotting most phantoms.

Golden halberd still does more damage than other regular halberds even to bosses with high holy resist. Used it for a run in ng 5 and compared to night rider glaive at 80 strength. The difference in damage was genuinely silly. It just does so much damage that resistances aren’t enough. Use a heavy attack build and you’ll see it should be A tier.

Cragblade nightriders does more damage and stance damage with that build even if if you have like 80 str 30 fth. Golden will only outdamage if you’re fighting a holy weak boss

Would be kinda neat if the Golden Halberd had the spell version of Golden Vow rather than the normal AoW one. That way, there'd be an actual consideration on if you should use it instead of running something with more damage alongside a GV dagger.

18:40, something extra about the Dragon Halberd's Spinning Slash is that this version is a few frames faster than the regular version. There's a bit more forgiveness in using the Dragon Halberd L2 when using it as a punish.

Pest Glaive is great for casters who want to use a halberd but don’t want to invest in STR/DEX/END - that’s about it.

The Golden Halberd is an amazing early game weapon and by far the best halberd for the first half of the game. The reason for this is that most of its damage comes from its base damage and to a lesser extent strength. Because the damage from base damage increases linearly while the damage from scaling increases exponentially the later in the game you get, this means that the golden halberd at lvl 5 will out damage every other option by a mile early on! At +5 and 30 strength It has similar physical damage as the heavy Nightriders Glaive +12, but it also gets holy damage on top of that. Its only in the late game with maxed weapon level and stats that it falls behind a bit.
