This sounds Northumbrian or Lowland Scots, which, given the history, explains a lot.

@@pierrethebault5279 No. Alban Faust. Sweden.
@GalushkoPP3 жыл бұрын
Sorry, but actually it is made by Alexander Khudolev and not Alban Faust. It's my pipe, and me playing on video :)

@@GalushkoPP I was thrown by the look. Just like mine almost, and probably curly birch and antler-but the stocks on closer examination should have been the giveaway, much fatter thN Faust's style.

Please what is the name of the flute played at the beginning? :)

It's a tin whistle in D

Thanks for sharing. Any idea where sheet music for this would be for the mandolin? Your tone is awesome!
@yuralytkin4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! The melody can be found here: thesession.org/tunes/2059 I'm doing some additional ornaments here and there, but hopefully these are not too hard to figure out!

Love the tone of the Sackpipa, does it have a sealed end to the chanter like Northumbrian pipes?
@GalushkoPP Жыл бұрын
Hi! Nope, it's open end, but root note of chanter (D) is the same pitch as drone, so it sometimes has this "staccato" feeling

@@GalushkoPP Thanks for the info. There's something about the sound of pipe music that really appeals to me, but at 73 I feel it's bit late to learn another instrument...
