I told dude this was better than FF4/6 soundtracks and he was like yea ok, but I mean... it really is? It's opinion, sure, but this is a masterpiece. These 'compositions' are very underrated by lovers of music. I would suggest a lot of classical nerds get over the weird fonky fart sounds or w/e and check out some of the crazy things that were done by Japanese composers back then.

all at the same level, is pure quality and among the best videogame music ever made, I´m a full freak for pc engine soundtracks, as a console it beats the snes in the amount of great soundtracks, BUT the snes has a few who are simply masterpieces, ff4,6, illusion of gaia, actriser, castlevania 4, yuyu hakusho 2 (sfamicom), and some more.

The composer of the whole OST is Meiko Ishikawa, who worked alongside Yuzo Koshiro on the first two games. IMO, Ys III has the best compositions overall in the whole series, even better than Koshiro's stuff, and that's saying a lot. Yet another genius Japanese woman making Video Game and/or anime compositions; there's so many its amazing.

I think Ryo Yonemitsu should still get some credit for his incredible arrangements he did for the PC-Engine Ys games. I'm not sure if I would rate the Ys series music as high as I do if it wasn't for him (don't fret - would still rate it fairly high). Ys III was my first Ys game and I played it on SNES. I thought the music was really good - among the best on the system. Then a year later, my friend got the Turbo CD version and I was completely blown away. I became an Ys fan after that.

I don't understand why we can't find this version of the OST anywhere on the internet. And it's a shame it wasn't included in the Felghana Music Box

You could just buy the game (Turbo Duo or PC-Engine) and pop it in your cd player. Just skip track 1 and 2 (which are data).

25:32 is one of the best tracks, this is one that I think the SNES did a little better both are amazing! 48:47 is when the fun starts!

Not that I'm aware of, unless it's on a Falcom OST somewhere.

It must exist somewhere, but may not be available to the public. They re-recorded the first track with English dialog for the US release so they must have a dialog free version somewhere.
