One thing I love about this game is that even while Adol is a silent protag, his feelings of the Isle of Seiren are projected perfectly through the soundtrack. I think this music track is one of the best ones to demonstrate that. Adol has constantly wondered what lied past the mountains to the north. Once he sees the ruins below the summit, he needs to go see them up close. This music track does such a great job on encapsulating the excitement Adol feels as he's running down the mountain path toward those ruins.

Every single track in this game is memorable. The moment you hear it, you remember exactly where you were in the game, what you were doing, and how you felt doing it. It's downright insane how good this game's soundtrack is.
@ergapollo4041 Жыл бұрын
That's honestly the case with every ys game. I'll never forget my first time hearing first step toward wars or the boys got wings
One thing i love about this serie is that it is simple in its premise: Adol isn't a chosen one, he doesn't have some complex motivation or a dark past. He's an adventurer and adventure. is. FUN! Dangerous, deadly and damn hard but fun nonetheless. And yes, you manage to kill the gods on the side but this is an adventure, a story to tell close to a campfire in a summer night. Damn i love YS
@kereminde3 жыл бұрын
I rather agree, except- I think Ys Seven had him as a chosen one. Not THE chosen one, mind you... which was an interesting twist to the idea. (With one other aspect to it which made me go 'huh'). Then again, Adol isn't the chosen one and destined to become great. He became great back in Esteria *because* he went through all of those events willingly. He walked up to a would-be demon god and beat the crap out of them not due to a prophecy or fate - but because he was the one who put himself to that task.

Time to force edge these enemies and unleash my extra skill. Ys music is so underrated but it's so perfect. The structure and the resemblance of the openings of Memories of Celceta & Ys Seven make me think that this song could have been a potential opening-song of Ys 8. It even has the classic guitar solo from 1:45 onward which is somewhat similar to Ys Book 1&2's first opening, Theme of Adol.
