Amazing conductor, orchestra and soloist. Playing a tempo those passages helping everyone it’s so difficult, this is what means playing together for the sake of the performance. Super!

Lebhafte und wunderschöne Aufführung dieses spätromantischen und fein kompnierten Konzertstücks mit seidigem doch gut phrasiertem Ton der technisch fehlerlosen Solovioline sowie gut harmonisierten und perfekt entsprechenden Tönen der anderen Instrumente. Einfach wunderbar!

Oh my goodness, everybody is ejaculating over the guy - it's unreal. Even the orchestra. Some of them have the gaze, and it doesn't look like it's from admiring his talent. Anyway, with that being said - the playing was utterly brilliant of the absolute very highest order. It is so refreshing to hear true fiddle playing. Much of the Hilary Hahn crew gravitates to this super squeaky clean playing that is almost devoid of nuance. (Don't get me wrong - Hilary is likely the finest violinist the world has seen in the past 200 years - and no one does clean playing better than she does.) But when it comes to the schmultz of the violin (think Stern, Zuckermann, Heifeitz), Emmanuel Tjeknavorian is a welcome welcome welcome arrival. Bravo!

@@hudebnilidlprodukce5137 Sorry to disappoint YOU - try Augustin Hadelich. He blows literally everyone I’ve ever heard out of the water. Intonation is so good it’s literally frightening. And he gives me the schmultz with quality «slides» as he likes to call them.

@@dmp7252 I've heard about him, but this is not about some nonsence about musicality and those kinds of shitty talks. It is about tachnical skilss that we can compare on God save the King by Paganiny. Hadelich doesn't have recording (or i can not find it). On the other hand Kavakos has excelent and Roman Kim even better. Thats are fact. Hadelich can not it even play enought good. I do not say he is bad, but if we want to compare musicians we must look on their technique.

Joshua bell also recorded a version of this with orchestral accompaniment in the early 90s. I believe the accompaniment is from the original publisher of the piece. It is available by order online.

Since nobody has gotten it correct yet, the original version by Saint-Saëns was a piano etude, which was arranged for violin and piano (as well as violin and orchestra) by Eugène Ysaÿe.
