Toyota Veloz - How does it drive in the City? | YS Khong Driving

Today, we are going to take a different tack from our usual Genting drive to driving in the city. After all, the Toyota Veloz is a family vehicle, and it will spend a lot of its life ferrying people around, although sometimes, you may find the odd one or two going for a trip up to Genting or to other hill resorts.
Given the typical roads and speed that we normally drive vehicles like this, it seems the 1.5 liter engine with the CVT provides more than enough power to do the job it is designed to do. And the great thing about small capacity vehicles is that they are more economical on fuel.

Great video! Especially interesting to see the 360 camera in action when parking the car. I would have liked to have seen some of other Toyota safety features in action as well, such as the Front Departure Alert - as an owner of an older car, these are all very new for me.

A very refreshing review. I've seen the Veloz a few times and it looks nice (although many other vehicles are too). This video helps me know more about it. The ride in a city is also interesting. Should have a combination of city driving and also on the highway since this is what many of us face a lot of the time. Something like NKVE, Duke and similar. LDP - like MRR2, they doesn't feel like a highway much anymore :)

Nice video. 70% buyer alza & veloz around 33 - 37 years old. I work at bank and everyday deal with their document.. Normaly buyer got 3 kid all below 7 yrs old. both alza & veloz buyer came from same income range. Only diffrent taste 🤭

It has always been a viable proposition. Some people prefer Toyota while others prefer Perodua, and both have valid reasons. I don't think Veloz will sell as high numbers, but it will still garner some sales

As always, the 1.5 liter engine is economical, but actual consumption depends on load amd traffic conditions.

The Cross is of a different segment, and comes with a 1.8 liter and also a hybrid variant. Trim and fittings are based on the Corolla, and of course it is higher grade. If you need a 7 seater and also have a budget constraint, then you will consider the Veloz. Both are just as reliable, so that condition is a given; reliability should not be your criteria in this particular case, but rather what is the budget you have, and what are your real needs.

Body panels are very different, ground clearance is +30mm, some small differences inside, different head unit, otherwise much the same. Veloz only has one high trim.
