Can’t tell you how much I love and appreciate your foundation reviews. My 51 year old face with it’s wrinkles and lines is hard to get the perfect foundation. My skin is somewhat dry and dehydrated and I’m experimenting with different foundations to try to find the holy grail one! Your reviews (drugstore ones especially) help guide me to ones I should try! 😃

Have you tried the cover girl and olay line? I have dry skin myself and the cream version (in the pot-type compact) seems to work pretty well. I’ve also heard great things about the bottle version of the foundation, though I haven’t tried it myself

@@KG9551 I recommend bb creams. I have the same type of skin and have had great luck with missha bb cream. The shade range is awful though unless youre pale to medium skin tone range. Wet n wild skin tint is amazing. Also shiesedo self refreshing foundation is my holy grail, nars sheer glow is also good!

But at least your winter is waning. Ours will be starting soon. And since I’m almost smack in the middle of the US/Canada border, it will be interesting to see what this year holds. Last winter was relatively calm, but two years ago, we made the national news for cold *and* snow between late January and early March.

I love foundation videos, or any complexion products. The best part is you have the same type skin as I do and I have super pale skin, more so than yours!!❣️❣️ I find it interesting that quite a few influencers that I watch have been very unhappy with the luxury products they reviewed🤨 Have you tried the new Lawless Conseal the Deal foundation? Since I retired early, I don't wear makeup every day. So, I have started buying mini sizes, which has saved me so much money!!

I’m confused on this one…don’t know whether to hate it or love it. I have very fair & cool skin but 1 worked well for me. 2 was too dark & off undertone wise…ran very pink on me which ok? But I tried it by itself & it was meh. Easy to blend over the Ren primer. Set w/CT powder & setting spray. Haven’t tried it under a mask though (that’s tomorrow’s adventure). Too Faced BTW concealer was ok over it. I really want to try mixing this w/my Essence Pretty Natural foundation (thanks TaylorWynn!) & maybe even w/the Ilia Super Serum skin tint. But if I only use it as a mixer I’m not sure if keeping it is worth it. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Sounds like if you had a sample tube like Shelly, it would be worth keeping, but as a $38 “mixer”, I’d return it.

I have found that with stubborn foundation products that they have an easier time "gliding" and "blending" when I use WITH primer. To clarify: I use one primer on my face directly, then I use a more liquid primer on a sponge or brush (rubbed over or kind of pressed in) so the sponge or brush is "damp" with primer then put the foundation directly onto sponge/brush and that helps a great deal.

I really love your colour products today Shelly (the eyeshadow, lippy, blush & bronzer) - it's all really flattering! (I also liked that it's kinda monochromatic - I always find that a pretty makeup look). Actually, so is the shade of the foundation - the performance/finish might not be great but that undertone on you sure is!

Thank you for your honest thoughts on this, every review I've seen so far was very positive and I was sad because this product hasn't been released in EU yet... I feel better now lol! YSL makes my fav foundation (All Hours) so I had high hopes for this one, but the way it looked on your nose is very disappointing. At first I thought maybe it doesn't play well with the magic cream, but then it would probably look bad on other areas too and it didn't.

I made the decision a couple of years back of always using my daughters # at both Sephora & Ulta so that she could get all the samples & free stuff. I love the tint foundations since I am older and heavy foundation looks terrible on me. The transfer to my mask is awful. I have been using Laura Mercier and halo by smash box. they would look much better if I didn't have to wear a mask. PS I love your reviews

That’s exactly how my nose looks with any foundation… I end up just wanting to take it all off. I found; moisturizer with a moisturizing BB cream works for my skin, and I have to use a brush to pat it in so it gives me a more natural, “ oh your skin looks nice” look haha. Thank you for sharing Shelly, this one is a no go for me XD

I love your videos. I’m 51, the last two years depressed me so much that I stopped doing my anti aging self care. This past week, I watched a few of your videos from the past year, and it inspired me to get back onto a good skincare regimen. I live in a small town, in the past year we lost our mall to a tornado, which was never rebuilt. Ulta opened up this year, after rebuilding and I finally changed some of my regimen up. Have you tried smash box halo plumping dew? I just put it in between my moisturizer and la base primer. My skin feels great! It’s subtle. I also was devastated to find out Becca went out of business. I was able to get one bottle of rose tint waterproof Illuminator. I pray that another company brings one out that is just as good! Ty for representing us ladies so well on the beauty scene! One day beauty companies will understand that our age is where the money is! I just changed my whole regimen to Lancôme, YOLO baby. 🙃

Hiii, if you love dewy/plump look, I really recommend the tatcha plump serum thing before makeup (then I use tatcha moisturizer, milk makeup hydrogrip primer and elf putty primer on T zone) and using a skin tint, then spot concealing, then some cream bronzer or blush and only powder lightly where you need it ! I’ve been doing that recently and I really enjoy it 💗 I will also keep you in my thoughts, stay healthy girl

Why did she blend it with her fingers and not a sponge or brush? I know it's a skin tint but maybe her method of application was just wrong for this particular skin tint/foundation. Maybe it would work better using something besides the fingers to apply with. Just a thought!! Love ur videos babe, keep up the good work!!

I wonder whether this would spot on pores with something else underneath? Both the e.l.f. and Charlotte Tilbury creams have silicone, and if silicone isn't worked well into the pores it can coat their tops so the pores show through.

The YSL is pretty sheer. I would definitely pick the Hourglass - I would call it light coverage. The Hourglass is very pretty though is is quite a dewy finish and only lasts about 8 hours on me. But for that 8 hours it's very nice.

Hi! Have you ever tried Honest Co CC foundation? I just found it in Target yesterday. It is unlike any other I’ve tried, very dewy. I’m a matte girl myself. But it does help with wrinkles, I think. I’ve only had it on a couple of hours. It may turn into an oil slick and melt off. I would love to know your opinion.

So I have an update on the YSL skin tint. Mixing it w/the Essence was an absolute no-go. Cake city. Mixing it w/the Ilia actually took down some of the glow but made me crease under my eyes like crazy & made me look dehydrated…even with my regular skincare + spf routine underneath. The Ilia is usually somewhat mask proof too as long as I set w/CT powder & double setting spray w/the CT & Benefit Porefessional. This combo made my makeup slide all over & take off chunks of my makeup when I wore sunglasses & gave me the dreaded polka dot pores. And accentuated dry patches. And Definitely not maskproof. But the YSL by itself was fairly mask proof (all things considered). So I still don’t know if I’m keeping it or not. It looks pretty on me for about 8 hours (which is great for a skin tint) but yeah. I like the slap it on w/my fingers & go…takes about 5 minutes off my routine in the AM. 😐

Yes, but I wait at least 15-20 minutes after finishing my skin care and moisturizer before I start my makeup and apply primer. I sometimes use the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream as a primer (though it's somewhat of a moisturizer too). Same with the Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base.

For the sake of your wallet, I’m glad you had a deluxe sample to try. This is another hard pass. I think I’ll be sticking with some tried and true favourites (although perhaps I’ll get the L’Oreal true skin serum foundation/skin tint to try), because almost all of these skin tints seem to be failing in the cost/benefit analysis. Thanks as always for another great video. Also, I love the fact that your mask matches your top. I don’t know where you managed to find coloured masks, but that’s genius.

I would love some videos on applying makeup to look good on phone pictures without looking like a 45 year old hooker in real life.
