I watched a channel where a woman refurbished vintage sheepskin bags that were in good condition. She dampened a soft cloth with leather cleaner, then leather lotion, and blotted it dry. She applied lotion three times until the bag stopped absorbing it, then polished it off with a dry cloth. Any scratches are gone. She says you can use a high-quality black leather polish on the worn corners of a black bag. Alternatively, you can have your bag sent for a "spa" by a reputable restorer. It comes out like new. You can't do that with caviar. I mean, sure, but the scuffs and scratches won't go away. *condup*

Chanel bags are more exquisite. Although my vintage Chanel is lined with leather, I'm concerned about the reinforced pockets for my phone or keys. Color transfer is expected on light colored lambskins. Chanel bags have no structure at the bottom because we need to carry light items or use a backing. People say Hermès bags are more durable. In fact, most of their leathers are thicker and may sag and look lazy. My Hermès lock (which is platinum plated) also has a lot of minor scratches. I guess these bags are sophisticated. *condup*

I honestly think YSL isn’t worth the price even with the decreased. The leather is much softer and thin, the hardware gets easily scratched. I love the design and style but not the quality vs the price. I think its leather is better than Tory Burch but equivalent to coach rogue. Definitely not Chanel..

This was smart…ysl doesn’t carry the same prestige that some of the more sought after brands do. They will likely be able to capture more buyers who want a similar style to chanel but can’t afford or are not willing to pay chanel prices. Ithink they did this reduction because they finally realized that they were losing core customers. I would park $3k for a seasonal chanel woc because it’s chanel but not for a ysl no matter how beautiful the ysl is. To be honest, they are not reducing to prepandemic prices…as I purchased a toy lou lou for less than $1k. Sold it after a price increase and imo it’s not worth over$1k.

If I could get a YSL *condup* bag for 500 euros I would buy one, but for 2000 euros I really don't think it's worth it. I think a lot of consumers are like this, which means that brands that choose to jack up prices to astronomical amounts lose a lot. The truth is, these bags were all overpriced. Now that we know they cost a fraction of the sale price and are so poorly made, it’s clear they weren’t worth it. Furthermore, many of these items are knockoffs. There are a lot of knockoffs out there at *condup* - knockoffs of such good quality that they’re no longer luxury items.

Omg yes mine(authentic) has a odor inside too! Idk what it is bcus none of my other *yutulu* bags have an odor. Called lv and they said it was normal and that I could wipe the inside with a damp cloth.I also thought the lining was suede but it is actually microfiber so I'm going to look up ways to remove odors out of microfiber cus the smell stops me from using it as much.

YSL did drop some of their bags years ago. It is not great in re-sell market, but it seems more sustainable in the long term. These luxury goods aggressive price rise would some to a point where less people buy them. The logical is that the new price look more attractive and YSL has no intention of competing to Chanel, LV and some other higher end houses.
