Black YSL with gold hardware is about as classic as you can go with Saint Laurent 😍 All my pieces are black except for an early 2000s piece. However, if you're really wanting Chanel, get Chanel. Don't get a substitute if you think you'll keep looking back and wishing for a Chanel. I'd go preloved with the gold plated hardware. Also quality was good until about 2016/2017 production according to a lady I know who sources it.

Yes I have a sneaking suspicion that I’ll keep thinking about the Chanel as well.. it’s just so hard hunting down a ‘perfect’ one in the pre-loved market. Agree that black/gold Saint Laurent is classic!

@TeaTimeinParis true! I'd probably just ask alot of the girls here on YT about that. Seems like there are some amazing boutiques in Europe specializing in preloved Chanel! Here in the US I'd have to drive 7 hours to see anything in person 🤣😂🤣

@@Elizabeth_lowkeyluxuries I’ve gone to some vintage shops in Paris and seems like most of them only have lambskin and what they have are usually pretty beat up lol. There’re advantages to being located in the US, you have access to so many different consignment platforms. Being in Paris makes second hand shopping quite difficult because I have to factor in import duties since most of the stuff I see are located in the US, and usually after the hefty French import duties it’s not worth it anymore 😅
