Got my Izzo for a month now and I can’t believe how good this bike really is! Super fast and efficient on the uphill, damn agile and fast on the Trail and it can even handle the rougher dh sections. It’s more XC than an ordinary trailbike and at least as DH as an Allmountain bike.

This bike is amazing, I have the Pro in Ghostship Green and it looks amazing. It really stands out in the crowd of big name brands. I put a Dissector in the front and a Rekon in the back and it is the perfect combination to me. Good grip but still retains the fast rolling characteristics. So much fun, great for pedaling, great for descents, seems like an awesome all arounder bike that the 90% of mountain bikers should really own. Only 10% of mountain bikers really need an Enduro or Downhill bike, these trail bikes are where it's at.

I got the Pro model, it's the one to go for unless you really want Carbon wheels for some reason. It's the same suspension as the Pro Race without Kashima coating, which really isn't necessary. Rides and handles amazing, and to be honest the Ghostship Green is going to look better than another black bike in a sea of black bikes. The Green on Black in the Pro model is amazing looking.

Thanks, David. Have you had issues with the rockshox grip lockout? I have seen/read a lot of reviews that this fails quickly. I wanted this bike but as you mentioned, out of stock issues I ended up buying used locally.
@davidarthur4 жыл бұрын
I had no issues with the remote lockout at all. Other than it working opposite to how I think it should, but I quickly got used to it
@jaymueller24182 жыл бұрын
Have the same twist lockout on my canyon. I tightened it with loctite to spec torque and it stripped. It’s a superb lockout and I use the lockout all the time, but it’s super easy to ruin it.

Love your video review. I am seriously considering buying this bike but I am having a hard time deciding if is worth buying the launch edition. Is electric shifting a good idea on a mountain bike? Please let me know your thoughts... I'm thinking of getting a Large but I heard this bikes run a bit on the larger side. What are your thoughts on that too?
@davidarthur4 жыл бұрын
Electric shifting is nice but certainly not essential. The Izzy has long reach but short seat tube which helps sizing up or down if needed, depends what size/gel you’re used to

Hi David. I’m looking for my first Mountain Bike & will be riding trails similar to you in SE England. I can’t try the bikes so it’s difficult. I was going to get the Stanton Sherpa (hard tail) but your review of the YT IZZO has completely thrown me!!. I would like an all rounder that would last for a very long time as they are expensive bikes. I get the feeling that I should get a hard tail as a beginner (views online). So obviously I have a choice of a steel hard tail or carbon full suspension. I just don’t know what I should go for but very lucky to have the choice. What would you choose!? Great reviews by the way.
@davidarthur3 жыл бұрын
Personally, I would go with the full susser. I've never subscribed to the notion that beginners should start on hardtails, you just get bucked about and beaten up. don't get me wrong I love hardtails, but I'll always be faster, comfier and better on a full susser. The Izzo would ne ideal for your trails

I wasn’t aware of the extra charges for getting the YT IZZO. A bit of a surprise. Is this normal for importing a bike to the UK? I hadn’t thought of this until seeing it when checking out. Update: just the worst customer experience. They aren't proactive on updating you on what's happening. They take forever to reply by email, so FB messenger seeems to be the best way to contact them. I've had the Izzo comp for 2 months now. Ive been riding about 6 days a week since I got it. I really enjoy it. It's a great deal for a solid bike. I removed the rear lock out + cable. YT supplies all plugs to make that a very clean alteration. It will take 15 minutes to reinstall it if I ever do a long road bikepacking trip.

Hey David you asked about buying the izzo in reply to my comment so here's what i think: if you can try transition spur it'll be epic i don't know if they sell/ship to uk but that & newest Nukeproof meta tr st is also great...if you don't need that extra 10mm you should definitely consider the spur it's possibly the best short travel 29er. Spur has over izzo: better geo, threaded bb, no rear pivot, lighter frame, exceptional descending(only norco optic beats it). So yeah...
