"I got a couple books that I like to read." Yes, I think I can spot one or two in the background, there. 🙃

Beautiful! I have a few on a wishlist, and Christmas is coming. I've learned, over the course of my short history smoking pipes, I love a churchwarden the most.

Hobbit’s Weed was originally blended by a small tobacconist in Denver, CO called Tewksburry. They closed a couple years back but I was able to visit one time while on a business trip to Denver. Hole in the wall but fantastic blend! Cheers

Of all the pipe shapes I own, I’ve never owned a churchwarden. I even have a vintage Kaywoodie calabash that smokes very cool, but never pulled a trigger on a Hobbit pipe.

I love that churchwarden! I think it's time for me to make another! Is that YOUR library? If so, I'm jealous, sir!

I agree with you about going to oxford to study theology, philosophy, and all the other 'ophys. That would be fantastic.

In the german translation of the lord of the rings books, the shire is called "Auenland"

Ok, but the obvious question that stands out to me is how does one clean a churchwarden? Obviously, a pipe cleaner is not going to fit down that oversized stem. I assume you would have to clean it somehow, or else eventually one would get that damp burnt grill taste. I haven't yet smoked one but if I did I would like to keep it clean?
@mythicalhistory2 жыл бұрын
You can buy long pipe cleaners from most pipe stores or through Amazon (www.amazon.com/Inch-Long-Bristle-Cleaner-Count/dp/B081CBMG88/ref=sr_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=long+pipe+cleaners&qid=1633298774&sr=8-5)

Great video! Always wanted to delve into the Arthurian Legends but never knew where to begin... I've been having the urge to read THE RINGWOLD series. Worth it?
@mythicalhistory3 жыл бұрын
I haven't read that series but will look it up. I might have it in my collection and don't know it. The Arthurian Legends are vast. Seems several people have attempted to write their personal version. Sir Thomas Malory's version is very popular and Stephen Lawhead's multiple volume series (the Pendragon Cycle) good places to start.

I just got a Vauen churchwarden, the same as yours a Doran. Do you find the bowl gets hot as you smoke it? You seem to be getting large puffs of smoke, much larger than I was getting and my bowl was getting hot to the touch
@mythicalhistory Жыл бұрын
I do find that the bowl get hot rather quickly, which is when I hold the pipe at the bottom of the stem. Still a beautiful pipe to smoke.
@muggletoast2231 Жыл бұрын
@@mythicalhistory thank you for your response. Okay, I’m relatively new to pipe smoking so I’m not sure how hot is too hot. I don’t want to damage the bowl by smoking it too hot. So yours also gets hot to the touch and you haven’t had any issues?
@mythicalhistory Жыл бұрын
@@muggletoast2231 My bowl will get too hot to hold but I've never had it break. Some bowls can get too hot and crack if they are smoked too hard. If the bowl is extremely hot, I would stop smoking it for a bit and let it cool down.
@thaumielbelial73452 жыл бұрын
Excuse me Sir, how many inches long is the pipe?
@mythicalhistory2 жыл бұрын
13 inches long. The bowl is about 1.5 inches deep and 3/4 inch wide. Very lite and a great smoker.
