Yu-Gi-Oh! Bonds Beyond Time | Review this Sh!t

Honestly I think you guys are only saying Paradox's character has no depth cause you have only watch the english version of 5d's which cuts off once Yusei defeats Aporia. The actual movie of Bonds Beyond Time is actually a crucial moment in the 5d's canon timeline. Sure the dialogue could've been more than just them giving each other pep talks and there are a few plot holes, but in all reality how else would you plan to bring Yugi, Jaden and Yusei together. And the fact that this movie also plays a part in the actual Yu-Gi-Oh time line is something we really don't see all that often with movies like this. The only ones I can think of off the top of my head that are considered canon are DBZ Battle of Gods and Revival of F.

+Rob Kappus Your right. (^_^) I thought we made it clear that we are basing the "no depth" from the English Dub. But we also watched the missing season in japanese (eng sub). When I make reviews I take into account the English release (which is why I state in the review the english dub only had flashbacks as the extra content to pad out the run time) as this is how a majority of it's viewers would of first seen it. Like, I looked it up and it said that Paradox was part of a group of people who were the only survivors of the apocalyptic future and that he created a younger clone of himself to send back in the past to save the future by rewriting history. I find this movie pretty good. Not a masterpiece but not bad. The animation is good. The interactions are limited but still good. The main bad guy is good and yes unless you see the show (and the movie was advertised heavily during openings and endings) you might end up scratching your head asking who is that guy that sounds like Goku. By far the movie's biggest weakness was (yeah I am 100% honest here) the lack of children's card games. The duel was very short. No combos, no epic moves, few new cards....The duel shouldn't last less than 10-20 turns and at least everyone should have a great card combo moment. Their biggest mistake was that this movie was not a Yu-gi-oh movie but a Yu-gi-oh 5Ds movie. Yusei was always the focus and no I don't mean that he beat the last guy. How to fix that movie? Easily. Do the same but increase the runtime by 30+ mins and add 2-3 extra duels+story. Instead of Jaden and Yugi just casually been attacked, have them been in tournaments and dueling other people. Have Jaden training to be the best and even thinking of challenging adult Yugi. Have Yugi and his friends hanging out or have Kaiba making a cameo to explain the situation. Heck, we could easily have side characters do some exposition. Why not Chazz and Alexis or even Aster have some time to talk or at least see them and what they are doing? Maybe have the GX characters becoming teachers in the academy? This movie looks like a abridged version of a bigger movie.

I remember my friend talking about this movie with me in middles school. I watched it on a Saturday morning and I quite liked it. Also, everyone has got to remember one thing. At the end of the day this is an advertisement for a trading card game and there was a booster set that came out for this movie. Also if people don't like the voices in English that is all fine but remember, the voice actors are just doing their job.

+Mazinger DestroX We are all huge fans of the show and all watched the classic, Gx and 5D eras, which is why I wanted to collaborate with these great guys. The point I am trying to make with this review was it was based of the english dub (which is why I mentioned the english cinema release). Even though we knew of Paradox in the original Japanese release. I felt if we have to research outside of legal means, i.e. watch a version that wasn't originally released to the western audience, then the movie shouldn't get a free pass which is why we show our confusion to the inclusion of paradox. If there was flash back scenes like there was introducing the main stars then why not with our main villain. I hope I cleared this up and hopefully it didn't annoy you too much to stop you from thumbs up-ing this video and sharing. :D

Jordan keane Thanks for subscribing! YOU TRULY ARE AWESOME! Which is better? That is a hard one, but I would have to go with Pyramid of Light. Although I do like the concept and characters of BBT, I feel PoL is the less flawed. It has a story that is believable for the universe, the duel feels more threatening as it progresses and there is a real danger to everyone. I just didn't feel that danger in BBT. But BBT gave me goose bumps as they declared their final attack. And finally, PoL had better pacing, BBT felt really rushed especially when they could of made it longer and on a larger scale considering it was made for the celebration of the 10th Anniversary. Question: Instead of using time travel why couldn't they have just used the Crimson Dragon to travel across the world and grab both Yugi and Jaden? Sure they would be older, but honestly it would be pretty cool to see both of them as adults and see how they've matured. Also there's a giant plot hole with Yugi. He shouldn't have the puzzle since this takes place after the final season of series 1 which means Atem shouldn't have been there dueling.

Aris here YUGIOH Fan. Ill admit the movie did lack so many things that i cant even start explaining because it will take long. Anyways ill defend the villain just this once in the movie, Paradox WAS going to explain why the future has no future at all but he was suddenly stopped by Yugi himself Yugi said this words not mine his words "WE DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR BACK STORY! WE ONLY CARE ABOUT KEEPING OUR WORLD SAFE" so what he is saying basically to paradox is "fuck your explanation we dont want to hear it, instead of "hey to every problem there is always a solution lets think about it and solve it" FOR ALL WE KNOW PARADOX MAY BE RIGHT and Yusei may be the one who causes the next generation disaster without him knowing. IN ALLi was disappointed Yugi even said those words.

To everyone commenting that Paradox's past is explained in the series: IT DOESN'T MATTER! If you treat this like a movie you need to set up a bigger story than that. And they had all the time they needed since the "movie" is only 50 min long. At least Anubis had some sort of backstory and at least it was explained. That's not the case with Paradox. Also, imagine if somehow you're not able to watch 5D's finale (the part 4kids didn't dub). What have you got of Paradox? A pointless villain whose only purpose was to fulfill the requirement of a fanservice. They are right: Paradox IS a one-sided villain.

Jamiethecomic - Review this Sh!t I actually like this movie... and the duel was actually pretty good. They worked off each other quite well. The OST is also very nice especially the Japanese original. The visuals are decent even for today's standards... seeing how this movie came out a while back. It may have many plot holes... yes... and Paradox may only be remembered cuz he was in a movie. But there have been much worse villains... even/especially in yugioh. But Konami wasn't sure about this movie with the Pyramid of Light being an almost total bust... so I can see why they cut down on screen time/plot development and characters. They were just playing it safe.

At around 4 minutes in, you say its a plot hole and that Yusei's timeline shouldn't have existed if Paradox had Stardust...I don't really get that part. Paradox had taken current Yusei's Stardust Dragon from him, then went back to the past with it, which means that every event with Stardust up until then still existed. Like, Stardust first being created, given to Yusei, taken from Yusei, etc. All of that should've still happened, which means his timeline still should've occurred. If Paradox had taken Stardust Dragon like just after the Signer Dragons were all separated and went to be passed through several people before ultimately ending up in the hands of their respective Signer, then Yusei would've never gotten Stardust and then history would've been altered, thus making the current timeline non-existent, but he didn't do that. He went to a later time after Yusei had used his Dragon to win important duels and thus allowing the current timeline to exist.

musicfan954 Time travel is extremely difficult to pull off so it's easy to get confused. Their timeline is being destroyed because of that event because of the parodox (not the character the event) it has created. They realise that the past has changed but if laws of time was properly implemented here they would of already known that it had happen because... it happened in the past, so to discover it has changed would be impossible. Also by taking the card to the past it meant that it couldn't exsit in the future because there is only one kind. Thirdly Parodox (the person) has destroyed his ancestors' chain so he can't exsit to go back in time to begin with. HOWEVER as explained in Back To The Future multiple timelines can exist with alternate paths, but the story didn't take that route and instead their timeline is being destroying so by the laws of time can't happen, especially considering if Yusei had gone back in time and successfully stopped the event his time wouldn't even know it was happening. So how did his friends know he was coming back? Time travel is hard man! XD With all said and done, it's Yu-Gi-Oh! Enjoy it! Don't let reviews ruin your experience with the movie. I know people are complaining about Paradox being revealed in Yugioh 5ds Season 5 (if I remember correctly), but to dub only viewers, who haven't watched the missing season, this guy is a total stranger. And besides, there's no explanation behind Paradox aside from his motive in the movie, so those who haven't watched the missing season have literally no idea what is happening and who this guy is. Because of this, (and the unexplained motive) Paradox is, in /my opinion/, indeed quite flat and 1D in this movie. But you don't have to think this way, it's just how I see it and I want to bring a different perspective to the table.

Correct and the events past Yu-Gi-Oh Millennium World/Yu-Gi-Oh Original Series season 5 are beautifully explained in the 3rd big-screen film Yu-Gi-Oh: Darkside of Dimensions, and it's actually a good epilogue to the OG Series as for the most part it actually does a good job with character development.

I think Yusei is Better protagonist , and overral I like 5d way more than DM . Fuck when you get into story you even start to like Riding Duels .

I grew up with the original Yu-Gi-Oh and watched all through 5D's (stopped in ZeXal because I just couldn't get into it). 5D's is easily the best, in my opinion.

Original series is always the best and gx is a good fellow up.5ds and later shows are boring im sorry it just is.so that guy who said 5ds has a better story then the rest of series should seriously slap himself. ok I don't want to start any arguments so foget the slapping part if anyone likes 5ds or later fine more power to you,but in my opinion the original and gx is way better than later ones,and also 5ds rippeds off the orichalcos arc from original.I'm sure im the only one who can see it but hey like I said if people like 5ds then ok good that you like it.I just wish the actual card game still plays like its originally suppose to be played old school.finally im sorry I got to get this off my chest motorcycle dueling are you shitting me that is the most stupidest thing ever.their is no point of that style of dueling and doesn't make any sense.I told my friend why duel while driving first off its impossible you could crash if their in auto pilot whats the point of being in a motorcycle it doesn't make any sense.people say the original series is cheesy as fuck about friendship and cheesy dialogue, but I rather take that then the stupid motorcycle dueling gimmick.ok im done now like I said everyone has their own likes and you should like whatever you want so I like the original and gx if you like the later shows then good for you enjoy them:)

+projectshadow0091 I respect your opinion but how does 5Ds rip off the Doma Arc. of the original? I personally think 5Ds had a better story than the first 2 or any series in general. The original is my 2nd favorite series behind 5Ds but I thought the 2nd half of Zexal and Arc-V have better plots than the original & GX. 35% of Duel Monsters was filler that wasn't really even important to the story & GX either had no plot or was an inconsistent mess until Season 3. 5Ds only had a dozen or so filler episodes while everything else focused on the plot and every arc was connected one way or another. I know a lot of people hate the Riding Duel aspect of 5Ds but a school that teaches kids how to play card games when they already know how to play and can only get into said school by having decent knowledge and skills is really a more ridiculous theme than Riding Duels. But I respect where you're coming from.

Um, the old way of playing Yugioh had stupid first turn kill decks and broken cards and what is wrong with the game evolving by adding new mechanics? Please give an original argument instead of "oh they should cater to old school" Also I am pretty sure when Turbo Duels happen they are built not to crash into anything when a Turbo Duel happens.

***** They are. For like 90% of the Riding Duels in 5Ds they were on auto pilot. The only time they didn't use Auto-Pilot was during the WRGP and even then *ALL* of the competitors were experienced riders/professional Turbo Duelist with only only Yusei, Crow, Akiza, and Team Taiyo not being professionals.

TheShapeH31 Are they not on Auto Pilot for the Fortune Cup? Also, I am confused as to how that person says you can crash when the Runners are on Auto Pilot. Wouldn't Auto Pilot take you to your destination with no problem?

***** I think they were on auto-pilot for the Fortune Cup, but I know for sure they weren't using it during the WRGP and during the Dark Signers Arc. Yusei, Crow, & Jack opted not to use auto pilot because auto pilot almost did Yusei in during his first duel with Kiryu. As far as crashing while on Auto-Pilot, I have no idea. When your D-Wheel is on auto-pilot all you had to do was duel.
