true but it also has to be after yami goes back to ancient egypt because mahad is the dark magician in it but at the same time yami and yugi lose each other right after that arc plus taking that into consideration,gx is supposed to be set 10 years after duel monsters events yet in episode 1 of gx we see yami but after that every time yugi is shown we see the version we see during duel monsters meaning yugi hasn't aged for 10 years and nothing in that makes sense

I imagine that Judai didn’t bring up the duel because he wasn’t certain about when this Yugi he was meeting had met him or not. After seeing Venice start to disintegrate from Paradox messing with the timeline, he probably didn’t want to risk further paradox’s by telling Yugi about something that potentially hadn’t happened. That or Yusei cautioned him against that kind of stuff.

Here's a reason why it takes place after Duelist Kingdom. Yugi has a duel disk. And who made those? Kaiba after the Duelist Kingdom Arc. Also for Yugi I would also like to point out how the millennium puzzle has it's chain on so this is further proof it is after season 1. It also cannot take place directly after the waking the dragons arc and Yugi and the others were relaxing with Rebecca and her Granpa. So I'd say it's after the season 4 arc there. As for Pegasus I think it's a mistake that no one corrected. GX I also say is after the show because of a few reasons. 1, Judai summons Neo's to physically protect him. And he could only do that in season 4 after merging with Yubel. 2. Judai's coat/jack it his season 4 version as it has that little bit up at the back. 3. Judai also had Daitokuji's spirit following him. 5D's I have nothing to add here. Just point something out. Zone mentions Paradox as he and Aporia were all working on the same goal. Save the future. Plus I would assume this is before Yusie get's Shooting Star Dragon. but that last parts a guess.

Well it's before Yusei learned how to fusion summon Draco Equiste, which was that Championship where he faced off against Team Ragnarok. Yusei was inspired by Jaden to fusion summon.

Yugioh Everything If I remember correctly, the Time stopped somehow after Yudai and Yusei appears and pick up Yugi after Paradox destroys the City in the first moment. So it was not possible for the Kaiba Corp to get any Data's from the Synchro summoning. And that's because of the Crimson Dragon that can somehow stop the time. xD

I always felt that Judai didn't say anything to Yugi about their duel because he didn't want to screw up any sort of outcomes to get him to that point by being like, "Hey Yugi, we're going to duel one day." That duel made him remember his love of dueling and it means so much to him so I would hope he wouldn't want to screw it up for himself. As for Pegasus and his eye, I had a headcanon that it was merely something to fill the spot since he's famous and cares about his appearance. He probably didn't tell any sort of in-universe media that he got his eye ripped out, and used a fake eye to prevent people from knowing. Also maybe didn't want to walk around with a hole in his face.

I watched this movie a lot and I have my own spots of where this movie took place. 5Ds- It takes place right Before the Crash Town Arc. Literally the episode before it. The reason for that is because if you look at Kalin when Yusei remembers everyone he cares about in the movie, he doesn't have his slight redesign. GX- This depends on the Dub or Sub. In the Sub like you said it's after the events of the show. Jaden/Judai is traveling the world. However the dub changes a line that Jaden/Judai says to make it take place after season 3 but before season 4. He said "you see some classmates of mine kept reporting their cards getting stolen and I went looking for the culprit" they keyword is classmates. In season 4 Jesse/Johan isn't a class mate of his anymore and in episode 157 Cyrus/Sho says that it's been a month after he events of season 3. So in the dub I would put it in that month. Duel Monsters-Considering Yugi/Yami is in his battle city attire it's obviously after the battle city finals. So clearly after season 3 and I've read on the wiki one time that it was an animation error. But I have my own pitch that I thought of. What if this takes place right before battle city version 2. In GX 179 Jaden/Judai saw the flyer of a battle city version 2 and one thing noticeable is that Seto Kaiba was noticeably absent from the movie and that tournament Yugi was at wasn't shown in duel Monsters so I would put it between seasons 3 and 4. Mainly cause Yugi didn't have resentment after he got his grandpa back and Seasons 4 and 5 seem to happen back to back. Like right after the Yugi defeated Dartz Kaiba sent him to compete in his grand championship. I also set the Permed of light between seasons 3 and 4 as well but that movie is easier to put cause Yugi had the 3 God cards in the film and in season 4 their stolen and like I said after season 4 ends season 5 immediately starts. So yeah Duel Monsters between seasons 3 and 4 GX Sub after the show, Dub between seasons 3 and 4 5D's right before the crash town arc

Michael Segal and Heres how the loop starts: 1Adult yugi gives jaiden winged kuribo “saying i have a feeling this is yours” big forshadow. 2 judai goes to the past to duel a yugi who just won battle city 2. 3 after gx judai time travels with yusai to meet a yugi who did not yet win battle city 2 and did not yet duel judai. Jaiden does not say anything as not to disturb the timeline and not to ruin there duel as yugi would know about hes deck. 4 after the movie they promise to meet again and this yugi goes on to duel jaiden. At this point this jaiden shouldn’t remember there duel with paradox cause it happens in the future for him. And yugi does not remember because ADULT yugi must have erased this yugis and atems memories of there duel with paradox before sending jaiden to the past to duel. Adult yugi could have easily done this seeing as he had time travel powers even after losing the pazzle so erasing memories is not to far fetched. Adult yugi probably did this so all 3 of them can bond together in there fight with paradox as not doing so would lead to yugi telling judai what will happen so they can have an easier time with paradox and this would ruin there friendship. 5 after that judai returns to the present and regains hes pasion for duels and goes on to Venice eventually to meet yusai and so on. Yugi also regains hes memories after there duel . 6 adult yugi goes on to give kid jaiden winged kuriboh both as a way to test him but also as a way of thanking him for helping him and yusai save the world as he has all hes memories of there duel , and of them teaming up to fight paradox. This also explains why adult yugi knew that if jaiden goes to the past to fight him he would regain hes passion because this already happened. 7 also after judai and yusai return to there original timelines, both him and ADULT yugi have all there memories and go on to meet each other again as they promised. Maybe this is why yusai stays in neo domino city because he is waiting for adult yugi and judai to meet him. Adult yugi sent judai to the past so he can send them to the future as well, this is how all 3 of them meet again

Dueldisk were introduced in the beginning of season 2, and Kaiba was still inventing duel disks during season 1, so has to be after season 1. But it also has to be happing after season 4 because yugi isnt using any god cards.

After season 4 he is way more careful with the God cards, so they cant be stolen again. And its still not confirmed that Atem was revived in the last movie. Pegasus also refers to his lost eye sometimes in the first movie. So maybe its a fake one to scare some enemys of just for decoration.

I think that Pegasus is egotistical enough to make a copy millennium eye, just for style points. And as for Judai, it’s also very natural for him to forget important things. Maybe not, like, dueling Yugi level important, but I’ll cut the writers some slack there, seeing as it’s very, very unlikely for that duel to have happened. Either way, great discussion.

Can't forget paradox belongs in the alternate future of yugioh 5D's he was one of the survivor's besides aporia, and bruno. I'm sure the movie is at least somewhat canon. But i guess the hard part is the specific story arc(s) that paradox travelled to from YGO DM, GX and 5D's.

The best answer I could think of is that a separate timeline is created leading to your theory ZEXAL route after Pegasus was killed. One event that was a PR nightmare for Seto's company and solid vision would be the incident from the Legendary Dragons arc of duel monsters appearing and freaking out the public. Now that in this alternate timeline there is a body count, it would be a reason for solid vision and Kaiba Corp to go away. Then Zigfried von Schroeder's company would create the Augmented Reality to contain the duels.

I never even noticed the millenium eye when watching the movie, thanks for pointing that out, I'll have to "keep an eye out for it" next time I watch the movie. I do agree that with Yugi/Atem it might be after Battle City based on the rules they're using & not starting with 2000 life points. Also I liked how they each said their catch phrase before the duel with Paradox, & when Judai/Jaden saw Rainbow Dragon he said "How dare you, leave mt best friend's card out of this."

I do believe the reason as to why Judai doesn't tell Yugi about their "duel" is because he either realized or knew from the beggining it was a dream thus he doesn't mention it as it would be kind of awkward and him not being on the "excited" level like he was in GX series might maybe show his maturity? or so I like to think. I also always thought that the movie happens in 5Ds in the middle of the seasons (like after season 2? dark signers arc? dont really remember), but before they meet bruno.

I think I remembered seeing that the movie first started before the Crashtown arc, so that's where I would put it, which is after I Jose attains his Meklord. I'm 100% sure it also took place some time after GX. As for DM, I think this takes place after Duelist Kingdom, but before Battle City. Also, I still agree with the theory Judai had a dream duel, which is why he never mentioned it, because he knows it didn't actually happen. Anyways, liked the video and can't wait for the timeline theory!

Something i would like to mention about the placement of the gx timeline is that there werent any people around what so ever when we first see Judai dueling Paradox. This would lead me to believe that the intention at least was that it happened either between season three and four while Judai was off doing his own thing for that week. It does mention in season four or gx that Jaden was more reclusive and that he got a look at some darker side of duel monsters or something like that.

Like the previous movie, this movie is canon to the anime series, taking place before the events of the Crash Town arc in Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's, as well as Paradox being revealed to have been sent by Z-one.[5][6] The movie is also shown to take place after episode 82 of 5D's, as Bruno (whom Yusei did not meet until episode 80, which happens with immediate succession of episodes 81-82) was shown as one of the people Yusei was thinking about near the end of the Duel with Paradox. - yugioh wikia fandom

Having done a lot of analysis with the cards, I have a couple bits of information to contribute. First, with regards to 5D's, I haven't watched the entirety of the show, but, based on Yusei's deck, I have it placed concurrent with (or immediately before or after) the Road to Destiny arc, which is right where you have it. GX, as you said, is pretty straightforward, and I think the inclusion of Neos Knight in his deck implies that he's being pulled in from after the conclusion of GX. Duel Monsters is the one that's the most difficult, because (if I remember right) they're getting ready for a tournament that Pegasus is hosting, but that's not something that happened in the Duel Monsters anime, but, as you said, the presence of the Pharaoh means that this has to take place at some point during the course of the Duel Monsters anime. However, the cards that Yugi plays are inconsistent with that. Dark Magician Girl at least means that it has to be after Battle City (but I think that was fairly obvious anyway), but the rest of the cards he plays don't exist except for Ancient Rules, which, by my best estimation, didn't exist in-universe until at least the start of GX. This is especially frustrating to me because I think they could have used Magical Dimension to summon his Dark Magician instead and let him play Pot of Greed if he needed more cards, but, regardless, this is all just to say that the placement for Yugi's timeline, I think, is nearly impossible to make with any certainty.

I figure I can say here a theory I have had for this movie for some time. So given that Yugi has a duel disk, it definitely takes place after Duelist Kingdom. That being the case, why would killing Pegasus at this point in time save the future? Duel Monsters at this point would be already super wide-spread and be mostly influenced by Kaiba, so killing Pegasus here would have little to no impact on the future of the game. So I have two theories for this. 1. Killing Pegasus fixes the "anomaly" in the timeline of him still being alive. In the Manga timeline he is obviously dead, so killing Pegasus may put the world into the manga timeline where the world doesn't end up destroyed by the Meklords. 2. This event Pegasus is hosting is where he either comes up with or first demonstrates a prototype for Synchro Monsters - the specific type of monster that lead to the world's destruction since Synchro Summons directly affect the Moment reactors. Thus, killing Pegasus at this point would prevent Synchro from coming into existence and save the future in this way.

If I'm tbh I think this movie takes place just before the end of GX and after DM in those timelines, due to the fact that Yugi was noticeably seen in the same area he was in at the end of GX when he's encountered in BBT and as such he would of been dropped in the same area. It would also be worth pointing out that the area barring Yugi in GX's finale is pretty much silent and I think this is due to the events that had just transpired from BBT. Getting onto the more complex areas, I must say that the events in BBT; in particular is the three protagonists meeting, which would be a time-paradox. A time paradox is essentially when something from the future comes back to meet the past in some sort of manner. All of this would been caused by Paradox who by transporting between the three timelines was essentially breaking them down, which allowed the three protags to meet each other, so essentially acting like a Paradox machine. As for the reasons why Jaden and Yugi couldn't remember each other, it was because this was an unstable time-paradox, meaning that it would plausible for them to lose their memories of the events that transpired, because they both returned to being a part of their own timelines, and the only reason Yusei remembers Paradox is because Paradox is a part of the 5Ds timeline, but he still can't remember the actual events which is why he couldn't remember Jaden and Yugi. I know that's a bit far-fetched, but I'm also a hard-core Doctor Who fan as well, so I have pretty good knowledge of how this stuff works.

Here's more fuel on the dumpster fire: Dark Magician and Dark Magician Girl talk in this movie, which only happens from Season 4 (the Oricalchos arc) onwards. HOWEVER, if we assume the Pegasus thing is a replacement eye, everything else falls in place. This movie is Yugi's first time meeting Judai . . . but Judai's third time meeting Yugi, if that makes sense. Their encounters with one another are experienced in reverse. Yugi meets Judai here, which is why he's not overly surprised to Duel him at the end of Season 4 (which happens just before the Egyptian arc from Yugi's perspective iirc), and why he makes sure to give him Winged Kuriboh during GX episode 1 (so he'll have a reason to run The Flute of Summoning Kuriboh, which saves their asses in BBT). Judai ran into Yugi on his first day of school, idolized him for his Duel at the end of GX, and still calls him "the world's greatest Duelist" during BBT- confirmation that they Dueled, and that Yugi won. Everything else basically lines up.

At this point this jaiden shouldn’t remember there duel with paradox cause it happens in the future for him. And yugi does not remember because ADULT yugi must have erased this yugis and atems memories of there duel with paradox before sending jaiden to the past to duel. Adult yugi could have easily done this seeing as he had time travel powers even after losing the pazzle so erasing memories is not to far fetched. Adult yugi probably did this so all 3 of them can bond together in there fight with paradox as not doing so would lead to yugi telling judai what will happen so they can have an easier time with paradox and this would ruin there friendship. 5 after that judai returns to the present and regains hes pasion for duels and goes on to Venice eventually to meet yusai and so on. Yugi also regains hes memories after there duel . 6 adult yugi goes on to give kid jaiden winged kuriboh both as a way to test him but also as a way of thanking him for helping him and yusai save the world as he has all hes memories of there duel , and of them teaming up to fight paradox. This also explains why adult yugi knew that if jaiden goes to the past to fight him he would regain hes passion because this already happened.

Further evidence placing the movie after GX ends could be Jaden’s Duel Disk, which is just like the standard GX Disk, but has red edges in representation of his dorm. The Duel Academy students get these somewhere shortly before the beginning of season 4, which is about the same time that Yubel finally makes peace with Jaden (this being at the end of season 3). And during season 4, Jaden is only able to leave the Academy once (correct me if I’m wrong), because of some weird stuff going on, and even then, he leaves during troubling times and everything at that moment is shown in direct sequence. After that, though, the next time Jaden leaves Academy Island is when he sets out to travel after the graduation. As well, Jaden’s lack of companions could also contribute to this argument. Thus, it is easy to conclude that BBT takes place while Jaden is traveling the world.

BBT gives a bigger tell that it takes place after at least season 3 though probably after season 4 on the gx timeline. Not only when everyone is gearing up for the big duel, we see the puzzles glow as atem tags in, the mark of the dragon glow, and Judai/yubel’s polychromatic eyes. Not only that but after judai says that mentioned quote, paradox attempts to blast Judai who protects himself by summoning Neos in defense mode. He gained the ability to manifest his cards as real/tangible after fusing with yubel.

I'm 2 years late to this video but even though they messed up with the Eye it would still have to take place some point after dualist kingdom because Yugi knows about the Dual Disk and has one himself, they didn't exist prior to Dualist Kingdom as Kaiba started making the prototype during that time with the thing you had to put the cards on and throw. During Battle City is where he perfected the model to the ones we know so I'd guess it can take place somewhere in the middle of that Arc since it overall looked like Pegasus made a brief appearance for the children and probably to get them into dual monsters as well. It could also explain why Yugi's friends aren't around as they barely stood by each other's side during that competition.

In the timeline of Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's Yu-Gi-Oh! Bonds Beyond Time takes place after Dark Signers Arc, but before the Crash Town Arc. At the end of the duel against Paradox we can see Kiryu in his Team Satisfaction outfit. This proves that this movie takes place before Crash Town.

I think this movie takes place right between the WRGP arc. To be exact, either before or after Team 5Ds faces team Ragnarok. Yusei, Jack, and Crow are standing at the exact place Galland threw some exposition to Yusei about their eye-magic-power thingy. That place is only shown at that arc, and the end of 5Ds with Yusei and Aki. I may be wrong cuz I haven’t seen 5Ds in a long time. Still, cool video 👍.

BBT was always pretty obviously after the end of GX for me. 5D's I usually place it before Crash Town (but that might just be cuz in the dub Yusei uses Jaden's catch phrase). But you're right DM had has always been the biggest headache! XD I never even noticed Pegasus had the Eye but wow that had to be a colossal animation error. After Doma is a good estimate tho. Battle City flows a little too quickly into Doma to try to fit BBT in between. As for Jaden, you have to remember that he's actually done some growing up. Sure we see him acting more like himself in the movie, but I think it's fair to reason that he would recognize the danger or awkwardness of talking about future events. He's always been fairly people smart. But I also totally agree with your theory of the duel that never happened. Was great to hear your thoughts about this! =D

i haven't watched much of yugioh yet past the first episode of yugioh duel monsters and have never watched any episode from any other yugioh series but if I had to guess why Jaiden/judei doesn't remember his duel with yugi I would say that when putting this movie on the Gx timeline this would be before the end of Gx which would mean Jaidens duel against yugi wouldn't have happened yet hence why he didn't remember but then again I'm just a casual outsider who's barely even watched yugioh so I could very well be wrong but that's the best guess I can come up with for now.

I loved this movie. I was thinking that Yugi/Atem never used those cards ever again in their series if they were plucked mid-series. Ancient Rules would benefit both him and Kaiba to pull out their aces, and Bond of Student and Teacher is basically a reverse of Sage's Stone where if Dark Magician Girl were on the field, Dark Magician can be summoned from the deck. My favorite part was Yugi & Jaden's reactions to seeing a synchro summon for the first time. I rewound this one scene dozens of times. Also, if it was after Battle City, Yugi would have all the God cards. Could make short work of Paradox easily, but it was better to see the 3 famous ace monsters working together.

So there's one thing to note about the Judai vs Yugi duel. It's possible that this movie takes place between the darkness duel and the graduation. We know from the last season of GX that Judai has a habit of not being on campus occasionally, so it wouldn't surprise me if he took a field trip to wherever he was in the movie before he graduated

Pegasus always had the framing or whatever of the eye. When he got it ripped out it was only just the eye ball not the whole eye. He still covers his left eye with his hair after it being taken so it still gives him a reason to cover his golden eye socket with his hair since he probably doesn't want people to see he only has one eye. I was always curious why in duel monster it was only the eyeball that was taken and not the full eye.

I mean, yugi having a duel disk at all already places it after duelist kingdom regardless of anything else, plus he switched his rope necklace band for a metal chain early on right as battle city was about to start. Maybe this duel happened before the second battle city that was mentioned in the end of GX, haha. As for Judai, he knows better than to mess with timeline stuff. He’s more earnest and passionate in this movie like he was in seasons 1-3, something he was only able to regain after dueling yugi in the first place, but season 4 is still the foundation of his character so he knows when to take things serious and he knows how to appropriately handle situations, such as here where he doesn’t mention dueling yugi. It’s the same reason he didn’t mention that he knows yugi from giving him winged kuriboh after all.

My theory is that it goes from DM to GX to 5Ds like normal and the influence from Z-One lead Yusei and other scientist to the discovery of xyz monsters and to help reduce the usage of synchros they became the norm. Then, the conflict at the end of Zexal is Z-Arc splitting the worlds. After the end of Arc-V, Akaba Reiji, like Yusei, teamed up with other and developed Link Summoning to REALLY insure Z-Arc never returns.

When I think BBT takes place during each series DM-After the Grand Prix arc. I feel Yugi had more respect for Pegasus after the Oricalcous arc so it had to take place after that, but after that arc ends, Yugi and the gang are still in America (I think, haven't gotten that far in the sub). Therefore, it would have to happen after the Grand Prix arc, when they're back in Japan. GX-After Season 4. Judai is fused with Yubel already and is in Venice, Italy. 5D's-Before the Crash Town Arc. Either this or before the WRGP arc begins (the Team 5d's vs Team Taiyo duel)

I always assumed that it's the day before Battle City starts in proper. Paradox was collecting all those dragon cards from the timelines to use in his deck, and that would've been the day Joey lost his Red-eyes to the Rare Hunter. Now the duels we didn't get to see in Bonds beyond time were Paradox vs Jesse (stealing his Rainbow Dragon), Paradox vs Zane (stealing his Cyber End Dragon), Paradox vs Joey (stealing his Red Eyes Black Dragon), and lastly Paradox vs Kaiba (stealing one of his Blue eyes White Dragons). Those duels likely happened off Screen and I'm quite sure that the duel between Paradox and Kaiba left Kaiba quite pissed seeing one of his Blue eyes being stolen by Paradox forced Kaiba to give chase but Paradox vanished as he had the four monsters he needed to crush Pegasus ending Duel monsters for good.

This movie has to take place after season 4 of GX since Judai is wearing a black turtleneck (outfit change for season 4). Also, ARC-V confirms that the Venice location is part of Academia. When Yuzu landed in the Fusion Dimension and met Asuka, they were in that Venice-like location. And later they had to take a ship to the Island later. So technically, Judai never left Academia in the movie!

In Universe its probably just a replica due to it being a very public event, especially with kids around. - Jaden wouldn't talk about his Duel with Yugi as this is post GX self. A version of him much less naive and excitable. He wouldn't just discuss "hey yo remember our duel?" Because he knows Yugi hasn't dueled him yet, they appear and Yugi asks "Who are you?" Directed at both of them. If he recognised Jaden this wouldn't be nessacery. This is consistent as Yugi wouldn't have given Jaden Winged Kuriboh yet either. So Yugi makes it obvious he hasn't met Jaden, so Jaden wouldn't tell him things that haven't happened yet. The only things Yugi learns is that a Dual Academy will exist and that Domino City will be called "New Domino City" eventually. Keeping al that in mind. It seems fairly obvious that this takes play in DM after Battle City, in GX after the show ends and some point after episode 80 of 5Ds

given that fact that the show deals in both time travel and dimensional travel, its really not that big of a stretch to say that most of the shows/manga have their own unique separate timelines. This helps explain why a lot of characters are not seen in the other series, and why the monster summoning mechanics do not cross over. with the exception of fusion being seen a few times, xyz's and synchros don't show up. Arc-v had its own different version of each dimension where certain characters never met, and key events never occurred.

GX - Agreed with most likely after the end, but a missed point: Judai is fused with Yubel during the movie, so it much more solidly cannot be before the end of the third season. 5ds: it takes place during one of the many breaks in the wrgp, after crash town. Gx: it takes place, as you said, after the series ended YgoOG: it takes place right after the kc grand championship and before the duel with Jaden. Yugi/Atem was at his absolute best before the pharaoh and the god cards left him. They could have made it more interesting and added in the continuity if during the end credits, shown Yugi giving Jaden the winged kuriboh, but from a different perspective than what we get in gx episode 1.

I was under the impression that this was the third time Jaden met Yugi and the first time Yugi met Jaden. The second time Yugi met Jaden was when they dueled because he was shorter, had a higher pitched voice still, but was missing the Millenium Puzzle. The third time Yugi met Jaden was episode 1 of GX because he was older with a deep voice and was missing the Millenium Puzzle. He also knew Winged Kuriboh belonged to Jaden because he saw him use it in the past.

Yugi was from a time definately after battle city. I believe the reason pegasus had the m.eye was because it was a fake/replica. Remember his obsession with the past. Lost his wife and wanted to see her again (had a huge painting of her on his wall in the tower in duelist kingdom), brought duel monsters from Egypt back to life in modern-ish day, and his involvement in the seal ark with the card that REVERSED the transformation of the legendary dragons. I believe it was after these incidents he put part of the past behind him and removed the eye. And that's why he covers it so much in GX. This especially makes sense if it was after season 4. A man hunting for the past all his life gets attacked by the future. If that doesnt open someone's eyes, or eye in this case, I dont know what would.
