I know a lot of people are getting on about him cheating, but this dude seems so honest. As soon as he realised and was told, he went to the head judge BEFORE the final to speak to them about it. Well done to him.

with Smidt winning Madrid and Hoban winning Toronto... it rly proves that the game is still skillfull. i mean, these are two of the most consistent players of the last 2 years.

Gotta respect the man for coming out straight and telling it how it is. He made an illegal play. It wasn't intentional. Respect.

A very well thought out, powerful build with some inspiring card choices. Congrats on the win Joshua. Good job on coverage again Lithium, I look forward to seeing the other deck profiles :) And on the whole controversy, I say forget it. The tournament coverage by Konami was of a good quality and entertaining, if not repetetive with all those unbarable Zexal Clips. I hope to make it to London again this year and have a less drawn out experience lets say.

Looks like my build was on the right track, it's almost identical. I will be taking out my MST for a Double Cyclone. I only have 2 Empty's, I have 1 Solemn.

What really changed Game 3 was the Shaddoll Fusion taken back from the Grave after tributing Shaddoll Core to summon Shaddoll Beast. Without that Spell face-down near Vanity's Emptiness, Federico would have destroyed Vanity and not Fusion, and then he could have gone for Game in that turn. I'm really disappointed as a player and as italian, but I perfectly know that Joshua is not a cheater or stuff like that; what I can't accept is what those 3 judges did: nothing. I mean, what the hell were they doing? By the way, Joshua really deserved a win, but not a win like this. Anyway, congratulations.

Matt Arrow It's just a really unfortunate situation. And as you said, if we're talking about the most honest players in the game, Joshua is definitely one of them. The amount of stress and pressure is also something we cannot overlook. It happened, sadly the judges didn't spot it either, nor did the feature match commentators etc. Nonetheless, a well deserved victory.

Lithium2300 Yeah, both Federico and Joshua are great players and many times they were about to win (Federico when he lost against Jack Brunn) or to go to the finals (Joshua), so they were really under pressure. Sad thing, just a sad thing.

I agree, the only times when MST is needed are vs floodgate cards, and activating Vanity's in response to Shad Fus for example is a common move, so this card is good even if he doesn't have moraltach to abuse

Its kinda messed up this win will always have an asterisk next to it. He got there with skill and nobody can take that away from him but that play and that ruling are pretty much the only reason he has 1st place. :/

I know personally a lot of ycs's travelers that are telling me TONS AND TONS of stories of cheating in low and high tables. even you uploaded yourself a video of a famous guy cheating while being recorded by you not so long time ago. Big events with hundrads of people are extremely hard to top, you need not only luck in winning matches, but getting a high tie-breaker. Lets not forget that Yugioh is a game of luck, especially in past formats where just starting meant game (Fate and the no-SS guy 1st turn and such) anyone that knows yugioh well knows that it is very rare to make repetitive achievements in such events, and how so many tournaments are being decided just by the roll of dice. I'v heard stories from a lot of people about couple of the players you'v been profiling in the past and idolizing, like Gruner(which even wiki states how he was disqualified in YCS Turin). And the guy we just saw in the video? Thetcglover says he had couple of past events of being accused for cheating. I'm not saying that all successful players cheat, i know personally Eden Zamir, the guy who lost to Gruner in the 1st euro ycs finals, and he is the proof of people just being so good that they are a couple of levels above anybody else, and can make amazing achievements. I'm just saying what a lot of people already know, that every repetitive achiever raises suspicion, and for a reason. But your'e right, i edited it to be less personal to this guy i don't even know.

Some people do cheat but your statement is really stupid. You probably think so because you are too full of yourself to realize that you still can improve a lot. I haven't played for a year because of school but I knew/know plenty of people including myself with several tops who 100% didn't cheat. We built our decks for all YCSs together and talked a lot about theory. You don't have to be a genius to top consistenly but most people don't know how complicated the game really can be because they don't know/understand some of the more advanced concepts. Most people playing YCSs think they are good and the only reason why they don't top is because of cheating and bad luck. The reality is that there's a huge skill gap between an average player and top 1-2% of players which makes it possible to top quite consistently. That being said, some of the extremely consistent players who top every other YCS are probably cheating..

In my opinion, this YCS win is invalid. Everyone will remember what happened and his name will be linked to the incident until he stops playing yugioh. Not to mention that he has had instances of accidently creating illegal gamestates in the past.
@AvivPirate
@AvivPirate 10 жыл бұрын
Really? That actually connects so well to the comment i just made: "GUYS, ALMOST NO ONE TOP 15 YCS'S WITHOUT CHEATING! He didn't did it as an mistake, he knows exactly what he did, just like he knew with his tons and tons of tops. Don't fool yourselves, please."

Just because everyone does it, doesn't make it okay. And I honestly couldn't give a toss about this whole thing, I just recall the chat on the stream blowing up while it was happening.
@AvivPirate
@AvivPirate 10 жыл бұрын
TheTCGLover Of course, i didn't said that, i said that there are a lot of people that are being seeing in tops again and again, in huge events, and a lot of them are achieving it because of forbidden cheating. Lithium actually uploaded a video once of a very known player that actually cheated in front of the camera, but steven didn't noticed it.
