After watching this, I'm convinced the people who worked on reshef enjoyed their time making that game. I DO wonder though, why has seemingly no one made the effort to create some Yu-Gi-Oh and other TCG GBA ROM hacks? The Dragon Ball TCG games were fun for sure at least. Yu-Gi-Oh though: Duel Academy, Sacred Cards, trials to glory, Reshef of destruction, and so on, but with all kinds of new cards added? I've played enough pokemon ROM hacks to know that skilled programmers can do some SERIOUSLY amazing things with GBA games.

Two gens of great titles, especially with Yugioh. But then they seemed to just...stop with the next gen. Like, everything's going strong on the DS, maybe some havw faded but there's still plenty (especially with Yugioh), but the 3DS and Vita seemed to have nothing at all. I sort-of blame the then-rising Smartphone mobile market, but that ignores that what we did get was, mostly, of a significantly lower quality than the titles on the PSP and DS. Like, Yugioh immediately crashed and burned on 3DS with World Duel Carnival. Who in the right fucking mind decided the game didn't need *multiplayer?* And the removal of one major aspect, that being the freaking card collecting, hurt it as well. To top that off? We actually got a worse version in the west, with a lot of cut characters and features!

I was playing The Eternal Duelist Soul recently and I accidentally triggered that specific fight vs Tea with the FT2. But I had NO idea what it was that did it, would explain why they started with a field spell too. Lots of great easter eggs and secrets, thank you for the content.

I remember watching the Miss Chrono aka Miss Medusa episode years ago, Yami Yugi puts a curse on her which takes all her makeup away revealing something that looks like a mummy, freaking hilarious! Never knew you could rematch Bandit Keith in Sacred Cards for years until I found him by pure accident when playing SC in an emulator.

For years I’ve been trying a multitude of methods to obtain her, but since it’s such a time sink I haven’t put a ton of consecutive hours into it. As someone that have a crush with this game, I tried to open my game boy after many years and try to obtain DMG. I said myself that if i obtain her i will buy her figure with the same pose in real Life. After one month and 1-2 weeks I got her at 1130 wins guys... 1130 f wins. I was dedicated i couldn't stop. But plz don't sell her to grandpa. She Will not appear even after you sell her!!!

Maybe you could also mention, that it is impossible to unlock all maps in Destiny Board Traveler. One will always be missing. I, for example never got the Inside the Puzzle map, since the game only allows you to combine so many maps and somehow you cannot unlock another map, if you have reached the maximum number of placable different maps. Plus, you can actually find cards in this game, that have never been printed so far, like some of the Armor cards that Valon used in season 4. They are among the random monsters you fight on the maps. There are also some other monsters but I cannot remember which ones. They even have actual effects like in the real TCG.

really entertaining video! i disliked destiny board traveler from the beginning and thus never saw the stages including all those easter eggs. thank you for displaying them. with reference to ddm: luckily i never even attempted grinding yami yugi. those odds are ridiculously discouraging. but i really thought the rooms at the dock in sacred cards were common knowledge. gba ygo deserves a more active scene. i would love to see some crowdfunded romhacks! especially of reshef or sacred cards. thank you for your contributions! also: nice shoutout. gameboylad and you should make some collaborations

Gonna be honest. In regards to Dungeon Dice Monsters, i actually got to see DMG appear in the intro sequence (it's rare for her to appear though). Also, any manga character that appeared in the game...i didn't recognize as i never heard of the season 0 manga or anime when i was in middle school

Another fun thing that might technically be an easter egg in Destiny Board Traveler is the appearance of many anime-exclusive monsters in the game, including a lot that were from the non-manga Doma arc such as the Armor and Orichalcos monsters. They don't have any mechanical relevance because of how the game works, but for the Armor monsters especially, this might be the only time they've been in a Yu-Gi-Oh video game

In my opinion it's not that Destiny Board was low effort, but that it was very boring to play. You have almost no control of what you do and the gameplay loop isn't that good. Nonetheless, this is all pretty cool hidden stuff.

Hey @Srub Busta can you actually do the whole math for dark magician girl plz? I want to see how Lucky I was. I am so happy to get her as an 30 years old adult lol. Awesome video btw. It took me 1130 attempts on real GBA sp console. I did first the tests on an emulator and the first DMG there was at 1405 wins, then the next at 1433(lol) and the third at 1603. It took me 1 month and 1-2 weeks on real console constant grindings every day and about 30 40 matches per Day Omg developers why. But i did buy her figure with the same art as a reward for all of this and now i can sleep at Nights lol. Mission accomplished.i wanted to unlock the intro and the dice legitimately. I may upload a video!

If I understand it correctly, it should be simple. The game seems to only have six total prizes for this battle, meaning that DMG would need to be at the top of the prize list for a chance to obtain it. Thus, I would say that the odds are 1-in-3,000 as you need a 1-in-6 chance that DMG is at the top of the list and then a 2-in-1000 chance that the RNG value ended up being a 0 or 1. 2-in-6000 becomes 1-in-3000. The main catch to this is if something in the code causes DMG to be at the top of the list more often when a 0 or 1 is obtained. If so, the odds would be better than 1-in-3000.
