Am I the only one who thinks you should STILL play 3 Sangan? Sure, you don't NEED as many searchers for Multifaker any more, but if you already have one or a way to get one, just add an Ash/Veiler/GOgre/Droll instead, depending on the matchup. It's consistency that ALSO gets you disruption.

It's generally excepted theory by the top players that a deck should have no more than 6 normals summons with 3 meluseek and 3 marionette that's enough you already play lots of hand traps and extravagance helps you get to them also sagan is just a brick

@@rossgraham4073 Other people say 9, so let's compare the two: With 6 normal summons, your chances of opening any is 57.7%, while the chances of opening any with 9 starters is 74.2%. And if you want to take bricks into account, you're gaining a 16.1% chance to open duplicate NSes while reducing your chance of opening none by 16.5%. A small gain in consistency, but a gain nonetheless and if you open multiple, you're still searching your disruption. Hell, even if you had BOTH Ash and Veiler (looking at Cimo's choices of HTs), Veiler isn't once per turn - if you opened a Normal Summon, 3 Veiler and the Ash, your problem isn't the number of starters. I like to run 8 myself, as it has the highest likelihood of opening *exactly* one normal summon. (42.3%, 43.5%, 43.7%, 43.0% for the likelihoods of 6, 7, 8 and 9 NSes respectively). However, while I would lean towards 6 in a combo deck that has a load of extenders anyway, this is a control deck. If your brick is that you got two normal summons, your adding a Hand Trap is going to mitigate that brick, which doesn't happen if you don't open something to make use of your NS. Ultimately, having another hand trap is NEVER a bad thing. Even if you had two HTs, there's no reason NOT to want a third in a format where the colloquially agreed best two decks are madly resilient to disruption. Side note: Yes, even when opponents only have one target for veiler, having a second veiler lets you use it through Called by the Grave. That's been brought up several times on discord and I'm not waiting for it to come up on here. And no, 2 Paragraphs and a side note do not qualify as an essay.

Went to Uni for Mathematics and Statistics, did well until I dropped out for my mental health, mental health issues mean I *can't* get a 9-5 job, not *won't* - my excess money is going into my own wrestling training at WAW. As such, I'm never going to be topping irl events, but I *have* been consistently topping the myriad of online tourneys over the last several months (including Davinator's Budget Brawl - I'm the Qli mirror that was discussed *immediately* at the start of the second week's stream), so maybe I'll pick up the deck for next month on Token Black's tournament (yes, *the* Token Black, from the Pokemon Cypher, he's a YGO player who hosts tournaments monthly). Plus, if anything, their honour ban of Mystic Mine would hurt the deck rather than help it, so that'd be the equivalent of Hard Mode. And if I do make it to the finals of Token's tourney with the deck, me being right doesn't mean other people are wrong by default or that I'm gonna rub it in peoples' faces. Best not assume the worst of strangers online, it's often a self-fulfilling prophecy (ie, that assumption will bring *out* the worst in them). As for dzeeff, I actively avoid his content because he was a twat to me during a Duel Links stream, so I wouldn't know his feedback on his builds. However, deckbuilding comes down to statistics and consistency. People may not like how Sangan feels in the deck, but people are designed to have a negative bias about new things in their memory - bad emotions and memories are stronger than good ones (survival instinct - avoid problematic shit). I wouldn't bring that up, but a card buffing your consistency and being able to facilitate your board in multiple ways is NEVER going to be bad. I'd say the bigger question is "are there better searchers that could be used as NSes #7 & #8"? If we get a Link 1 that you can make with Black Forest, that's a way to search Nibiru from the deck after all - which is DAMN high impact.

Why are you running Selene in Altergiest? You need at least 3 spells on the field or GYs to use it's effect: "2+ monsters, including a Spellcaster monster If this card is Link Summoned: Place Spell Counters on this card, equal to the number of Spells on the field and in the GYs. While an "Endymion" card(s) is on the field, your opponent's monsters cannot target this card for attacks. You've probably already figured out since you left this comment 2 months ago. I'll answer anyway just in case. Salamangreat is an easy to learn combo deck. The combos aren't insane and too long so it makes it an easier deck for new or returning players that are interested in a combo deck. Altergeist is honestly even easier to play and has a very linear play style so you will learn it much quicker. Probably better if you're brand new to play Altergeist. Hope this helped you or anyone else reading his comment wondering the same thing.

I think what's bothering me (and has been bothering me for quite some time now) is that this deck (and many MANY others) is literally over 40% denying your opponents plays, or just stopping them from playing the game in general (Mystic...) and that percentage doesn't even include play denial from the cards in Archetype itself. I'm honestly growing tired and bored of having decks that literally have to piggyback off of play stoppers to win, when someone say for example "check out my Subterror deck!" It should be just that, a Subterror deck that contains majority Subterror cards not 12 Subterror related cards then 28 play negates or draw power... a deck cant carry a name like Subterror when your deck is only 30% related to its archetype... at least in my opinion, you may disagree. And before y'all start, this is not salt, this is my opinion on what I believe is an unhealthy state of play for Yu-Gi-Oh! And it's boring imo...

Changing and adapting your plan based on your opponent, or tunnel visioning on one thing and trying to do the same thing over and over again each game?
