Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer and Magic Cylinder were my favorite cards. I drew both of them way back in the day when this set came out and they've been in my deck ever since. Great video!

One cool thing about Humanoid Worm Drake (besides it being a super short print) is that it sees play in a current deck. The Phantasm Spiral deck uses "Waking the Dragon" to summon Worm Drake since it's water attribute (so it can be played while "Gozen Match" is active).

I have a long story here. When I was in 3rd grade, we had a Yugioh shop near my house. I went in and for some reason, I bought a masked beast for $15. My family did not have a lot of money and my dad got extremely upset. Yelling at the clerks for ripping off a little kid. I started crying because I didn’t understand at the time. Anyways, fast forward to when I was in 7th or 8th grade. I threw away thousands of dollars of cards. (I did not understand markets at all and my dad wanted the cards out of my room. So I stuffed them in an old pillowcase and in the trash can they went.) Well I started looking through some stuff in my room I was cleaning, this masked beast was just laying on the floor and was really the only card I owned when I started to play again when I was in high school going into college. Even to this day almost 20 years later, I still have that masked beast in the same sleeve that I use as a book mark for whatever I’m reading at the time. I showed it to my dad before I moved out and he said he remembers the day I got it and how mad he was. Then we laughed because I drop thousands on the game now as I’m a collector and the market is insane.

So great. I’m about to have the complete legacy of darkness sad I’ll be missing a couple cards but nothing very expensive maybe like 10 or $15. And I think I’m missing 58 first ed cards from invasion of chaos and only one expensive one which is dark magician of black chaos. I got the black luster soldier for $15 first edition probably seven years ago. I had mine stolen from me as a kid that I pulled from a pack. I bought a key I’ll send her a dragon for $40 when it was released. So that’s probably my all-time favorite card. Yata and BLS are up there too as well.

I seem to remember Riryoku Field cards sometimes had spelling typos on them, and that made those misprints highly sought after for a while. Also, I believe there was a match between Yugi and an opponent who had a combo of Infinite Cards and Card of Safe Return, which Yugi eventually overcame by milling out his opponent.

It is interesting that a spirit monsters counter card was released before any of the spirit monster themselves. I'm talking about the Vengefu Bog Spirit. Those guys in the artwork look pretty similar to the Great Long Nose

I loved this set. This one and PSV really brought me into playing the game on a mofe competitive level. Everything before was just playing shitty vanilla cards, ignoring the rules like normal summoning just once per round (like in the anime) and beatdown each other with the Bossmonsters from the main characters of the anime

Personally my least favorite Duel Monsters era booster set, main reason is that the Spirit Messages cards are so easilly pulled that it is disappointing, those cards should have been common except Destiny Board, that one is fine as an Ultra Rare. My Top 5 favorite cards from this set are Gemini Elf, Kycoo The Ghost Destroyer, Magic Cylinder, Torrential Tribute and The Last Warrior from Another Planet.

I disagree, with too many S/T removal these days like MST, Twin Twisters, Cosmic Cyclone, Heavy Storm Duster, Card of Safe Return deserves to be off the banlist at 1 to test the waters, if it's not doing nothing then bump it up to 2 or 3.

what you do with it is to use it on turn 1, profit out of it, then be done with it MST and other things wont matter lmao

I see what you mean but card advantage is almost everything in yu-gi-oh... The cards effect is not once per turn & since you can special summon from the graveyard like craaazy, and could probably get 6 cards to further extend combos until you get a beefed up immune to everything boss monster in 1 turn.

@@Weezerr420 yeah true but the card is not searchable either, you pretty much have to hard draw it, and even if your opponent opens up with it and start drawing like crazy, there is so many hand traps in the game now that it is easily countered. When Snatch Steal came off the banlist that one format I knew that it was going to get re-banned because Konami completely forgot that Hidden Armory was a thing, not only you could search the card from your deck, you could recover it from the GY too, Card of Safe Return doesn't have that luxury, at least not yet.

Flying Fish is considered to be the worst Vanilla Monster out there. Level 4, vanilla, Fish, and Wind? That's extremely awkward typing, and is really only good for things like Fish Depth Charge and decks that can benefit from it being a fish, but even then, it's just a such a terrible fish monster.
