I'm not sure about your setup, but if you don't want to use your camera's mic I'd suggest just recording with the camera while also recording the audio on your computer. Then you can sync up both audio tracks before deleting the camera's audio. This way you don't have to go back again and record the audio the second time, but you get that nice microphone sound :) That's what I do for all my deck profiles/pack openings and I highly recommend it!

I'd take out Grepher and ROTA for sure, right now I'm 50/50 on Armageddon Knight. I think this Time Thief engine is sufficient; I thought about running 2 Retrograde in situations where you draw Flyback and Winder/Retrograde but it doesn't come up often enough. I wouldn't recommend running Regulator because your Normal Summon is too important and that card loses to too many interruptions. I like this engine a lot :)

I have been testing this variant as well, I do not think the warrior package is needed as well. Something spicy I am trying is creeping darkness to search for winder, it niche situations it can also trigger kaleido chicks other effect. Definitely think bagooska and exciton are required.

So here are my full thoughts on Magicians' Souls: The card is really good insofar as it allows you to make Curious and plus really hard with its draw effect (as Mason pointed out), but it doesn't necessarily fulfill a niche that Dangers can't. I think it worked in Noah's build because he opted to run a higher hand trap count that he isn't trying to relinquish to Dangers, but in a build like the one I'm playing where you're trying to extensively combo, the difference is negligible. It's also nice not having to play another Garnet (Apprentice Illusion Magician) in order to accommodate the Souls. Is the card effective in this deck? Yes. But would I buy it at its current price point? Definitely not :P I think the deck can function entirely fine with or without it, based on the premise of the build you're trying to go for. If you can afford to play it, then go right ahead, it'll definitely synergize nicely with the deck and cover for its weaknesses. If not though, no worries, it's by no means required or even an extremely advantageous edge to have at your disposal :)

Which Lunalight Variant do you think is the most meta relevant right Now ? Luna Rank up, Luna Time Things or perhaps pure ? Im building currently a Luna build with my friends and we are not Sure which variant to build and which is the most competitive ? ;)

They're all pretty close, but I think long-term, the Time Thief build has the potential to keep up with the meta in the future. It has a lot of versatility while not having as projected weaknesses as something like the Kali Yuga build imo :)

What’s your reason to not play tiger king? I’ve been in situations where His secondary effect has come up to negate all faceup cards on the board to simplify an otk plus sometimes where I don’t see chick and tiger having an ability to search tenki at any point is nice

It was simply a matter of space. There are definitely times that I miss having him in the build. By no means is this list completely finalized; I'm still very much trying to optimize it, but for the time being I wanted to fit in other cards. :)

What are your thoughts on Dugares in this build? Its a free graceful charity that can get cards like serenade dance and zephros out of the hand. Although not optimal, if you end with it on board, I observed a neat interaction with perpetua where you can attach a material from the deck on your turn and then another one on your next turn or opponents turn, allowing you to trigger Dugares again on your next turn. However, I suppose most of the time you want to use this for redoer and more interactive rank 4s. Great channel! I learn alot about Lunas from you. Keep up the good content!

Dugares is cool, especially the draw effect (most people bring it up for the SS effect to bring out cards like Kristya, but I typically am not a fan of skipping my next Main Phase, skipping the Draw Phase is much more manageable). I think I'll definitely incorporate it once Master Rule 2020 hits, since then you don't have to be super preoccupied with making it at a particular time before Linking it away, but it's still a great consideration! Now that a week has part, what is you're current thoughts on the warrior engine? If you think cutting all 3 (Armageddon, Grepher, and Rota) is the right move, what 3 cards should be replacing them? I know souls is good, but any better options for a budget build?

I'm still pretty 50/50 on the warrior engine to be honest. There are just some instances where you need more starter cards, and I've actually been considering heavily shifting my build (which I'll update you guys on once I have a more solidified idea on what I'm going for). But if you wanted to, I think expanding the danger package is generally a good replacement (+1 Jackalope, +2 Tsuchinoko) especially if you can't/don't want to buy Souls :)

As a budget player I dont have access to Apollousa or masquerena. How would you tailor the deck or strategy without having access to these cards? Also love the vid, was a pendulum player but now im leaning towards this deck and your video is a very good introduction

I would honestly just run more Rank 4's or link monsters that provide utility, since that's the primary focus of this build anyway. You could incorporate cards like Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Tiger King, Curious, Fire Fighting Daruma Doll, main deck Exciton Knight, Daigusto Emeral and many other choices. The deck is extremely flexible as far as the cards it can use and it can adapt to the format as well, so I'd just advise running strong cards that fit within your budget! :)

@@sebastiamgarcia2140 Generally yeah, and that Xyz is usually Time Thief Perpetua. I have some combos in a newer video if you haven't seen them; some of them involve the more expensive cards but there are also others that budget players can still definitely use :)

I personally am not a fan of the gamma package or the warriors, instead I play 2 imperms, 3 allure and and the additional dangers (with 2 moth instead of 3) I also still play curious because I like the utility it brings and I also go into it pretty much every turn for the combo, I also still play nyarla as it does come up in certain hands where you've already got access to Zephyros etc.

Thanks! 1. Yeah, I'd probably go for something like -1 Arma, -1 Grepher, -1 ROTA, +1 Jackalope, +2 Tsuchinoko or something along those lines 2. You could keep in Armageddon Knight just as an extra starter, or, if you're really motivated to beat SPYRAL, you could make more space for hand traps 3. That's a question I'm still trying to figure out myself :P It might come down to me cutting the Utopia package just to make extra deck space since there's very limited spots :P And no problem! :)

Regarding the thing about not seeing your lunalights enough, well the solution is to draw, draw as much as you can you'll see your cards then, so I say play magician souls just for that and im a fan of allure

Only one Question?! when does the combo tutorial comes for this masterpiece? ill play a similar list with just minor differences. i like snake more than mothman because i use dangers more to debrick my hand so i will play 2 mothman, 2 sneks and cut the time thief bezel because i dont think that this is a good card when you arent playing a larger time thief dedicated variant and there arent that many ways to get it into the gy except for dangers and the lunalight spells/trap. But with IP and curious you can easily put of 4 interactions with your opponent and you can also have an appolousa with a godlike hand.

I really like the time thief cards, but when testing the deck seems to brick much more to me. Not sure if it feels this way to you as well. It’s almost turned me away from the time thief cards altogether (aside from redoer)

Yeah, the deck does have some dead hands at times due to the nature of the traps being one-ofs that aren't consistency pieces, but generally, you still have most of the consistency tools in place to where it's not really hindered too badly by the engine and the payoff is enormous. I'd say continue to tweak your build and find what works for you! :)

Thanks! Probably not, the closest thing that a Shaddoll variant would be is a blind second list with a small engine (like one I posted last format). I think Shaddolls and Lunalights generally perform better independently by themselves :)

Regulator is particularly vulnerable to a lot of disruptions, and using the normal summon is kinda relevant since a lot of hands really like to normal Chick. It also conflicts with Dangers (if you draw into it with Dangers, it's dead).

I think it's really close, but yeah I think this list is marginally superior, just because it's not super reliant on Curious resolving in order to get your plays across. There's a lot of versatility in the build, which I really appreciate as well :)

Generic rank 4's, such as Bagooska, Tiger King, or Light Dragon @Ignister, or toolboxy link monsters are generally the way to go. The deck is designed to be very flexible, so feel free to work around with your budget! :)

Generally, most of the dark monsters in the deck are the starter cards that you want to see in your opening hand. Allure is good for digging, but the big problem with it in this deck is that the cards you're digging for are usually the ones that end up getting banished. It's a bit of a gamble for me, since there are some cases where it really pays off, but others where it kills your hand outright or just can't be activated (for fear of banishing the only Chick in your hand, for instance), so I'd rather not take the risk in a card that's traditionally supposed to be a consistency card. :)

Most of the time, they're able to stick Apollousa early onto the board. But even if they can't, they have a lot of recovery with continuous usages of Rescue, Big Red, and other extenders that they can still end on a favorable board regardless. Also, no matter what, they'll make Apollousa before the Sleeper/Last Resort play. So even if you Nibiru them, they'll have that threat lingering at all times. I'd recommend using cards like Droll & Lock Bird and Dark Ruler No More to try and combat the deck. Those cards are a lot harder for SPYRAL to play around unless they draw specific non-engine cards :)

There's a reason you see the Danger engine in all these builds... it's because it's proven to work :P If you can't afford them, you could play cards like Destrudo, Shade Brigandine, Luna the Dark Spirit, etc. If you're not playing them simply because you don't want to, then that's totally fine; it's your choice, but most players want to optimize the build so it can be the best it can be :)
