So I’m returning to ygo. And it’s been so long since I’ve played. Last time I played I was playing the Joey starter deck lol anyway I don’t even own any cards now. I’ve been looking at Pendulums, and after watching this it’s clear I have a ton to learn. All this sounds great and all and he clearly knows exactly what he’s talking about. once they break your board, it's an uphill battle from there. No/Barely any grind game after that and then it's instant lose. Also, going second is pretty hard as well.

@@emokniet Meta doesn't stand for Most. Effective. Tactic. Available. That's just a happy acronym. It's short for meta-game, or the game inside the game. That game being the competitive strategies, and how to beat them. Pend. is considered meta, just not Tier 1 like Orcusts. @Molds It doesn't really die going second, it just has a harder time breaking a board than making one. Luckily, Vortex gives you a bounce, Reflection gives you a bounce, etc. etc. to really help break problem boards. @Sky Light This is the most accurate argument. It has almost no grind game if it's broken unless you can topdeck something to complete your scales again, and make a board off the Pend. summon. Which is not likely, so indeed a broken board is an instant loss. Then again, it's the same for most decks in the meta with the exception of maybe Salad. Usually, if you break a board against the top decks, they scoop anyways. I don't recommend the Zefra or Magician variants of this deck, but this isn't a bad option. Pure Endymion GD is probably the best variant, with an Apollousa variant close second. (Only worse because it's easier to break the board with Apollousa with a single card/eff.)
