I can’t be the only one whose mind was immediately cast back to the days this intro was broadcast weekly during my childhood when I learned about what has happened to Takahashi. Even though it took me a long time to get to know the card game itself, this series will forever have a special place in my heart. Rest in peace, Kazuki Takahashi. You will be greatly missed.

The best thing about Yu-Gi-Oh and Pokemon back then was to fit the 50 or so episodes a year in Japan into the 26 week or less standard season of new episodes in America, WB had to put out multiple episodes each Saturday, or give us new episodes in summer, either way it was a nice gift. The other great thing was the internet still wasn't at the point where an American could watch the new Japanese episodes with subtitles online, so everyone watched the dub, no one complained, and everyone was on the same page.

Bit silly to comment so far into the "future", but looking back at this I really prefer this so much over the original Japanese intros... and that's coming from someone who often does prefer Japanese originals. To begin with, the US intros capture the Egyptian background much, MUCH better. Not only that, but I also feel it properly expresses the mood of Light and Dark powers at work, whereas the Japanese originals come across as a simple slideshow of characters and monsters overlapped with a random J-POP song....

this anime still impresses me. 5 whole seasons. around probably 400+ episodes, (look up on netflix) and it was FINISHED. no cliffhangers or nothing of bullshit. and it has the most memorable moments and characters ever. It went so good with the duel kingdom and battle city and just went so super op awesome with the egyptian god cards, orichalcos cult and great leviathan saga, to just fuckin' straight up deadly tron vr gaming survival with the kaiba corp game world story. Then it finally came full circle with just combining EGYPTIAN past and memory with modern day connection. I am so happy to have grown up with this OG series, and I feel to say that whoever had a childhood with this show has a Right, maybe even a demand to stand with it and say I still love this and still watch it. gx was ok, i say since i havent seen it fully, 5Ds was pretty damn good especially with the EB immortals and those androids who turn into dueling vehicles. and Zexal was the 3 gen who has the nostalgic grandaddy yugioh genes we would remember with its modern age. (sadly for me, just opinion, arc v is a mess for me and doesnt make sense. its too futuristic for me) this anime doesnt compare to any thing else. it did its own thing and finished. and made our lives so much more interesting. i want to say last that they paid so much attention to friendship. i love the connection of seto kaiba and yugi. I get instantly reminded of how if shadow and sonic were humans, kaiba and yugi would be their equivalents. I thought of that every time saturday mornings brought yugioh and sonic x to the screen during kid years. I feel this anime had it all and still does. I hope if any one reads this whole ramble comment, that they would feel the same, and i would say thank you to them! (King of Games!!!)

Best theme song of Yu-Gi-Oh ever, the opening always gives me chills . I still watch it and hands down it still amazes me. The Battle City Tournament was amazing and way better than dualist kingdom, season 4, and 5 really break my heart especially when the pharaoh used the seal of orichalcos and Yugi looses his soul to save the pharaoh.
