The most heartwarming part was that Yugi trusted Joey eventhough it was a phantom replica of him and that even the Replica refused to betray his best friend. It just shows how Yugi values his friends, they basically treated each other like family.

I like the first season because there isn't an emphasis on duel monsters on i loved dungeon dice monsters too wish they would have done more stuff like that going forward.

@@devontehuntley6274 Most manga versions of these events are still canon to the main series, as seen in flashbacks. I say most, as with Shadi meeting Yugi for the first time in Duelist Kingdom these particular chapters couldn't have happened. The Gallop anime was made so it could be watched standalone, but without these prequel chapters, moments like Jonouchi's duel with Yugi in Battle City feel like you're missing something, and that's because you are. I prefer seeing the next series as a continuation, chalking discrepancies up to it trying to be standalone for new viewers, so all the necessary pieces of information get put into parts of the story where they don't belong and you can just ignore them, or basically everything not directly contradicted still happened like in season 0 or the manga. After all, Noah's design is a direct reference to Kaiba here, with his white uniform and green hair, and GX puts the names of characters made specifically for this series alongside the characters from the manga on the list of residents of Domino City when they are all captured by Truman in season 4, and because of that I consider original episodes of this show not taken from the manga still canon to the NAS anime timeline.

I think this was its own series no one really references any thing after this season. Like how kaiba doesnt say hey remember when i stole your grandpas blue eyes in magic and wizards and you made the monsters real.
