It's a pity we didn't see these guys in Dark Side of Dimensions (outside of a couple seconds with Silent Swordsman Lv5 to power down that cubic monster). I know Dark Magician is kinda Yugi's signature monster and Dark Magician Girl is pretty much ulta popular (and waifu bait), but considering the Silent Swordsman and Silent Magician played key roles in Yugi's victory over Atem in both the anime and manga, you'd think he'd keep using them. And it's a shame really since I really do like these cards' design and artwork (even if I am wondering why Silent Swordsman's skin in that green color in the TCG and OCG)

But yeah, I do honestly wish the Silent Archetype had a bigger role with Yugi, especially now that he’s separated from Atem. I like how all throughout the series , yugi thinks of the dark magician as his most loyal card. When it was always the pharaohs, and as the series goes on, the symbolism of yugi having his silent magician is that of him becoming his own person.

Another reference to RPGs with this archetype is with it's name. Silence is a common negative status that prevents the user from casting magic. And a shared effect of most monsters in this archetype is negating/being unaffected by Spell cards.

I'm getting a huge RPG feel from those 3 because in games people tend to be a magic wielding support/attacker or the sword wielding tank then if they get good enough, they'll do both. And in games like LoZ, the protagonist is silent. Which further proves that Paladin is their daughter. S.Magician is Zelda and S.Swordsman is Link. (And Gandora the Dragon is Ganondorf). Also they had a kid!? Well I couldn't tell cause they were "Silent" about their relationship. I always thought they were siblings.

Problem was they lose money since zexal, arc v and vrains combined with the dsod movie, thats why they change the tone and make sevens, it wiol take years to see if they wish to make a anime of the cards lore (that could be made easily since the story expalins itself and its pretty much canon)

Except like he they represent RPG themes and you normally start off as a warrior or spellcaster that eventually ranks up into a Paladin, like Dark Paladin. Also, Silent Paladin's stats are much weaker than her parents. If she was supposed to predate them, they would've 100% made her much stronger in their stats, effects, or both.

Silent Magician is a favorite card of mine and one I use quite often in Duel Links. Since Dark Magician isn’t as a viable in advanced duels (at least with the cards I currently have) I built a Silent Magician Deck and it has probably become my ace monster. I need to work on it still because it’s mainly brute strength and power-up spells, and I need more support cards to counter effects and traps.

It still boggles my mind to this day that some people think LV.4 and LV. 8 are men. Can they not see the boobs and level 8? and them subtle hips? By extension, LV.4 is obviously a girl too given that she's the younger LV. 8 At least people aren't confused by the most recent Silent Magician. With them glorious hips.

Okay hear me out: I legit once read a fanfic where Syrus and Zane Truesdale were adopted by Yugi after their father tried to sell them into human trafficking (their mother had been opposed to it and was murdered by their father). It's eventually revealed later in the fanfic that their mother is actually Silent Magician, as she had been a human in possession of a Duel Ka like Kisara. Seeing the anime versions...yeah, Silent Magician totally has Syrus' hair color and Silent Swordsman looks like Zane.

Pandora Panini thanks for saying it Pandora, my character is basically a male Silent Paladin with brown hair and a combover for the hairstyle. There was only a single paladin piece for Monster World in existence because, well, it was damn too OP, heck, even if it was nerfed to the sun and back, it would still be too OP. The reason it's so OP is because of it's special abilities, which I called Paladin Powers. They could do anything from strengthening the whole player team to reducing the strength of any opponent, even Zooku, to dirt.

Paladins tend to be more of a cross between fighters or other martial classes and a cleric or other divine caster, a better name would be Magus. All this knowledge is based on D&D/Pathfinder/other tabletops, if I'm incorrect about the real life counterparts, I apologize.

That’s because yami yugi once fused dark magician and buster blader to create dark paladin, silent paladin is the call back to that and as with their theme took more time to come into being than dark paladin

In real life, Paladin was just an exclusive title given to the twelve knights who served as King Charlemagne's best knights, similar to how the Knights of the Round Table were King Arthur's best knights. The Renaissance period saw many Italian writers creating more fantastical, less realistic stories about the Paladin's adventures, often featuring magical items, but it's not like "Paladin" was assoicated with being a fighter/mage hybrid. All it meant was that you were one of King Charlemagne's twelve greatest warriors. It wasn't until DnD adopted the term to mean fighter/mage hybrid that it started becoming associated with that meaning in the modern day.

I'll be honest, I run a silent magician deck in Duel Links and planning to in Master Duel, I also tried to use silent burning to put a load of spell counters on lvl 4 SM, but level doubler is an awesome card

They really should releases more support and members for the Archetype. Those that can support either and both at the same time. Black Luster, Buster Blader, Arcana Knights and Gaia has gained theirs over the years. As the archetype that contrasts the Dark Magicians and is integral to Atem's defeat this should gt more love. Other than that, I say Paladin needs an Errata not a huge one. Just that it can be treated as both a Spellcaster/Warrior so it can tributed for the special summon of either Silent.
