I just realised. Wightprince sending Skull Servant and Lady in Wight to the grave with his effect is his parents going with him whilst he’s playing in a cemetery. The artwork is just contextualising his effect, which is pretty cool.

King of the Skull Servants could also be a reference to Gashadokuro, a japanese Yokai that resembles a giant skeleton (sometimes covered in flames, like the purple aura the card has). It is born when multiple weak evil spirits fuse together, kinda how KotSS gains power when more Wight/Skull Servant cards end up in the graveyard.

i once created a fan card named hollow-eyes wight dragon and wight knight. i no longer remember any of their details other than their names. it was fun making fan made cards for skull servant since its like a shonen protagonist, you can develop his support any way you like and still solve the day with an op physical attack just sharing

Here is the thing, The anime has that card, it is a fusion of mammoth graveyard and blue eyes ultimate dragon. So make it a dragon+(this archetype) special fusion(with the requirement that one material from each field is used, or needing light dragon if normal summoned)

Seeing the card, i guess Wightprincess is outside the family, and she's the prince crush, or a playdate. He's playing the fool, she's laughing while petting the dog, the mum comes in with refreshment... I could be wrong, but for my knowledge of japanese culture it's pretty clear.

Random thought, but Wightprincess might not be related to the king. It's possible she's Wightprince's friend (maybe even future love interest?) Given her ability to foolish him. That could also explain why she's not on the vacation lorewise, since it could either be she hasn't met wightprince yet or she's on a vacation with her own family. My bet is she's related to Wightlord and Wightmare

I always make a Skull Servant deck in the games and name it Bone Zone just to mess with people. It is hilarious when you beat over their boss monster(s) with a card that is possibly older than them.

I do have a fan card for the Skull Servant Archetype Lord of the Skull Servants Rank 1 XYZs Requires 3 level 1 monsters to summon ???? ATK ???? DEF This monster gains 1000 Attack and defense for every overlay unit it has. If one of these overlay units is "Skull Servant" then when this monster attacks your opponent can not trigger spell, trap, or monster effects until after the end of the damage step. When this monster destroys a monster in battle, you can remove one overlay unit to allow this monster to attack again. As for the look, imagine skull servant but his cloak is tatered, his bones are cracked and he wields a rapier, implying this is skull servant after a battle but coming out on top. I think this card would fit the archetype and doesn't feel too overpowered as the set up to make it work is pretty difficult and even if everything is set correctly, a 1 turn kill is impossible

I'd only slightly edit it. Only IF keeping it IN the archetype is wanted Just change the summon condition to 3 Lvl 1 "Zombie" monsters. Just to make it so you can't just use ANY level 1 monsters since.... There's a good amount of combos that would be able to get it out turn one. An alternative would be making it so it only gets 1000 attack for every "Zombie" monster attached. Rather than limiting the summon, moreso the attack.

I love the Skull Servants. After watching the anime Overlord I wanted to make alternate art cards for the Skull Servernts featuring characters from the anime. I made a video showing which cards are which characters and a replay in 1 vs 1, tag, and 3 vs 3 relay if you wanna see it.

I personally loved the concept of Skull Servant growing up with the og sets and it's fun lore. I am glad to see Konami giving skull servant some TLC in recent years with giving him more cards throughout the recent years now. Hey Sam! Here's a video idea! It would be a quick one, but I have always been curious about this. During Battle City, what cards would the winners have gotten from their opponents had they opted to actually take their rarest card or a rare card that works with them. For example, what would Yugi take from Bakura, Arkana, Lumis & Umbra, etc? What would mai take from the actor? What would Kaiba take from Joey had the rule applied? What would Kaiba take from Ishizu? What would Joey take from Odion? What would Marik take from Mai? What would Bakura take from Bonz? Can you please do this??? Also, I'm sorry I'll probably leave this comment in later videos hoping you will see this. Love your videos man!

And when they went on vacation it was a family vacation hence why wightprincess was not apart of the group as she is not apart of the family despite being wightprince's crush

I love skull servants! It’s quickly become one of my favourite decks to use and the only thing I wish they had was a card that allows an effect negate to work around troublesome removal cards, but still they are amazing. Also if skull servant got a way to overcome yubel cards by making their ability disabled for a turn so your king could 1 shot them, that would be incredible

Skull Servants has been my favorite archetype since I discovered it back in high school. I got my ass kicked by Wightmare while playing Stardust Accelerator. I found it hilarious and tried beating the game with them. Then built them IRL, such a fun card.

I just love this archetype and the story around it. Skull servant is just the goat for never giving up and always keep giong until he had a happy life. He diseves it. I just wish we had some spell and Trap support for this theme that not ola has them in their artwork but actually helps them out plus an effect version of Marron that supports his new family.

Gotta say, never knew that I'd get hooked by the Wights when I found my main deck with the Shiranui and Eldlich archetypes, but man they grew on me. I just love my skeleton family.

This is my favorite archetype to play with. Fast paced, OTKable, and no complicating reading and setup to get it running. :) One weakness would be traps like Magic Cylinder that would kill me instantly and since I don't run traps in it, I block traps with Royal Decree.

When I first started playing Master Duel, I hadn’t played YuGiOh! since elementary school. I went against a Skull Servant deck in one of my first ranked matches. They made an absolutely massive King, but I magic cylindered them. One of the funniest duels I’ve ever been a part of.

One of many old monster cards that gets a massive upgrade and turned into an archetype. Much like how the recent Voiceless Voice archetype is made up of multiple retrained ritual monsters such as Skull Guardian and Saffira which seemingly had no real connection what so ever aside from the card art in their ritual spells showing they share a girl in a red cloak which late became Io. Wouldn't it be funny for Crab Turtle and other no effect water ritual monsters back in the day to be combined into a Deep Sea archetype and then upgraded with nasty effects?

I’m a big fan of the zombie archetype especially during Halloween bc my big card when I first started out was red eyes zombie dragon and zombie world. I’d love to see you try a zombie world deck.
