I’ve tried this deck out and I don’t really get how it’s meant to function. Extravagance just makes it impossible for scapegoats to ever get out borreload (which makes scapegoats a brick) or sometimes banishes all dragon knights (which makes keeper of dragon magic and polymerisation total bricks too.) I’ve been playing with dark magician for so long and I still haven’t found a version that seams consistent enough wether it be with keeper of dragon magic, eye of timaeus or even windwitches. Dragon knight is so good but there just isn’t anyway you can make a consistent dark magician deck while making dragon knight a focus at least that I know of. I’m desperately trying to find a dark magician deck that will stick with me so I can finally feel good about playing with my favourite deck

ross ferla you wanna switch that out for the spell book draw engine. Way better for the deck. Basically makes it so you’re running a 34 card deck. Plus with the Dragon fusion searcher you’ll be able to one turn Dragon Knight. I’d also say to bump illusion to three. This version is just to inconsistent

I only use dark magician the dragon knight, no paladin no magician girl fusion. BUT run 3 extra foolish burial. Send DM the dragon knight to the grave and eternal soul special summon him from the grave

I've learned recently that many meta cards (saryuja, guardragons, vortex dragon, etc.) Are dragon types so if you run 2 super poly you can easily run your DMtDK and with the added benefit of not getting negated because S.poly is a spell speed 4, you get rid of a prob card, and you can activate in opponents turn

OK so I understand why those cards but I rather the spellbook cards for draw power cause what if u banish your dragon knight by mistake and u need him or why rivalry or the warlords if u want your spellcasters on the field and u have dragon knight on the field u will have to send the others why cause rivalry makes both players control one type not attribute so it will affect the deck

What about the mana dragon as an alternative to some choices? It can bring back a spell/trap after one has been destroyed or banished. Also can be used in grave so when it's in the hand it can be used as discard fodder.

It basically takes $600 to make DM even halfway playable. And also, this could be much more anti-meta with a Trap Trick Scythe engine rather than just going for Dragon Knight. Dark Burning magic in with Dark Magician Girl can essentially mean a two turn kill. This build doesn't have as much kill fire.

Me and a friend are prepping his Dark Magician deck for a regional. What do you think of "trap trick" and "Dark Magic Expanded?" We figured DME would be good to protect "Eternal soul" and "Dark Magical Circle" while adding more consistency with running 2-3 "Magician of Dark illusion." "Trap Trick" is basically like running an extra 1 to 2 copies of "Magician Navigation" which is good for opening hands. Also, "Ebon High Magician" makes all your quick-play and trap cards hand traps and protects them from field removal by staying in your hand. Its disgusting. Great deck profile!

Really nice profile! I like this build but since you wanna go anti-meta you gotta play at least 2 EEV imo. I like secret Mained but my meta is different than yours so it’s up to you. I personally don’t like 3 soul or playing fusion builds but it’s up to preference. Other than that though it’s perfect.
