When playing the dragoon/vanity version it is more optimal to summon the vantity to the most right monster zone and the dragoon to a zone beneath the extra zone. Both are then protected from the creature swap monster, but dragoon is also protected from relinquished anima because it can’t get targeted. Sure they can’t summon the anima, but still

Definitely a great point, and like you said it doesn't come up often because Ruler shuts them out of both anima and geonator. I made a point to mention Geonator specifically because a lot of weaker hands/games where you get handtrapped, you'll manage to just end on Dragoon, and then it becomes important to play around Geonator.

Benten is literally this deck's Block Dragon. And I can't possibly see how that could go wrong.

Eva actually has an almost identical effect to block dragon, banish cards from gy to add 2 cards. Benten is more like this decks Sky striker engage. so this deck has both a block dragon , an engage , and a magical meltdown.

Seems like benten should still activate from that example you gave, because it doesn’t have an “activation location”. Benten only needs to be tributed, doesn’t have to be in the GY. So as long as it isn’t in the deck or banished FD, it should technically be able to activate. Unless it’s ruled that way because “konami said so”

I think ghostbelle should work to negate the drytron summon, because the effect includes the option to summon from grave, if it was there. Knightmare Phoenix is conditional to draw a card. Kinda different.

Time Skip version is kinda jank, BUT i think splashing in Amorphactor Pain in the Megalith version could be interesting, hes such a powerful effect if unchecked that it might justify itself being there even though hes a very greedy card, cant wait to see what decklist you have in store, once the set drops officially (dang the delay) im definetely ordering some physical cards in hopes of going back to real games, in the meanwhile,mthank you s much for the combos!

I have a question on the ghost bell, The card simply says when a card or an effect activate that INCLUDES this effect you can negate it. "Special Summon a Monster Card(s) from the GY." All the drytrons include that effect. Ghost belle doesn't say that effect needs to be activated, it just needs to include it.

The LCS staff pretty much recognized the Benten vs D.D. Crow thing you said is wrong. They ruled it that way but it's not the way it's supposed to work because Benten doesn't specify it has to activate in the graveyard. I'm not saying it's correct, but I'm getting a lot of conflicting information on this one.
@jebusmcazn4584

if you can link a source for LCS saying they ruled it incorrectly, I'd be interested in seeing it. upcoming Konami-sanctioned events like the UK remote duel extravaganza are also ruling that Benten doesn't activate, as they've adopted a ruleset similar to the OCG April revisions (which, like I said in the video, pretty unambiguously say that Benten doesn't activate). the issue of the card not mentioning a location it has to activate has caused regional splits in the past, the most iconic examples being Hieratic Seal and dangers vs shark cannon being ruled differently in NA than EU. under the april revisions, these should (in theory) now all be unified, and the main point of contention is whether events are using those revisions or not. there is a possibility NA continues to rule this interaction differently from the rest of the world even after all this, but we have to wait for official word from R&D/AdjCon for this

Another issue is that the last action occurring to the card was not being tributed, but being banished, which also could be judged to not meet activation requirements due to game mechanics, but I do believe that would be up to a judge at hand to rule it that way.

I disagree with the benten ruling as benten doesnt state where it activates. It's different with sangan in the example in the ruling as it states where it needs to be activated (when this card is sent to gy which means it actuvates in the gy) or like deneb (cl1 mst target coth cl 2 targeted coth) deneb will not activate in this case because deneb's effect activate when it is summoned which means he activates in the field. While benten only states if this card is tributed which means that as long as it is tributed it can activate. If im not mistaken it has been discussed in the judge's lounge in FB group which contains judges that is official

A card effect cannot be activated if it is no longer in the location where it reached its activation requirement. The easiest example of this is Sky Striker Raye vs Zeus with Raye as CL2 and Zeus as CL1. The chain will resolve backwards allowing Raye eff to summon Kagari, and then Zeus will send Kagari. Even though Kagari was successfully summoned, she left the location where she met her activation requirement before you are able to activate her effect in a new chain. The April Master Rule update in the TCG unified this with the OCG. This is not debatable and is simply incorrect if ruled otherwise.

ygorganization.com/whyarentyoubuyingddcrowsrightnow/ Regarding the Activation of Card Effects that Move Away from Their Activation Location Before Their Effects Activated -In card texts, cards refer to their effect activation requirement as well as their effect activation location. (For example, if it is an effect that activates when the monster itself is Normal Summoned, it activates on the field, if it is a Trap Card whose effect is activated if it is sent to the GY, it activates in the GY.) If a card moves location from its activation location to a different location before its effect activated, its effect cannot be activated (including mandatory effects). Example of Old Way of Resolving: “Sangan” is Tributed to activate “Crush Card Virus”, and “D.D. Crow” is activated in a Chain to banish the “Sangan” from the GY. “Sangan” activates its effect after this chain is done resolving. (In this case, “Sangan” is treated as activating its effect in the GY.) Example of New Way of Resolving: “Sangan” is Tributed to activate “Crush Card Virus”, and “D.D. Crow” is activated in a Chain to banish the “Sangan” from the GY. “Sangan” does not activate its effect after the Chain is done resolving.

@@P-kun26 Did you even read what you posted or what? That is literally the ruling, yes. The card moved from the location its activation requirements were met before it can be activated, thus unable to be activated. Some more rulings, if you're really insistent on arguing a very wrong interpretation of the ruling update. These are all applicable. Leviair the Sea Dragon's effect is activated by detaching Cir, Malebranche of the Burning Abyss. In response, D.D. Crow's effect resolves, banishing Cir. After the chain resolves, Cir's Trigger effect cannot be activated. (new for KDE-E and KDE-J regions) Hieratic Seal of Heavenly Spheres' effect is activated by tributing it. In response, D.D. Crow's effect resolves, banishing it. After this chain resolves, Hieratic Seal's Trigger effect cannot be activated. (new for all regions) Dark Hole is activated. In response, Subterror Final Battle resolves, flipping Subterror Guru face-up. Then, Guru is destroyed by Dark Hole. After this chain resolves, Guru's Flip effect cannot be activated. (new for KDE-E and KDE-J regions) Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring's effect is activated by discarding it. In response, D.D. Crow's effect resolves, banishing it. Ash Blossom's effect resolves as usual. (unchanged for all regions) Judgment Dragon's effect is activated. In response, Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit's effect resolves, destroying it. Judgment Dragon's effect resolves as usual. (unchanged for all regions) You activate Twin Twisters by discarding Danger! Bigfoot!. In response, D.D. Crow's effect resolves, banishing it. Bigfoot's Trigger effect cannot be activated. (new for all regions) You activate Twin Twisters by discarding Danger! Bigfoot! while Macro Cosmos is applying, and Bigfoot is banished as a result. Bigfoot's Trigger effect can be activated. (unchanged for all regions)

@@inurfaceak I read what I post. It states in card texts, cards refer to their effect activation requirement as well as their effect activation location. If an effect that activates when it is summoned, it activates on the field because technically you cannot summon anywhere else. If a card is sent to the gy, it activates in the gy (obviously). But what if it states if a card is tributed? It doesnt say any location. It can be in the grave or banished so then the activation location can be anywhere right? So even if benten is d d crow-ed after being tributed it still doesn't matter because there is no specified activation location right? Well I guess another way of people seeing (which I'm starting to see now) is that the interpretation is that if it is being tributed while there is no banishing effects, then the activation location is in the gy but if it there are banishing effects the activation location would be in the banished zones. And since there is a way of labeling the activation zone then moving it will cause its effect to not activate because of the ruling. I see I guess that's another way of interpreting it.
