So recently a chart released showing that in Japan Yu-Gi-Oh is still by far the 2nd largest card game after Pokemon. We have seen multiple times now, Konami doesn't actually care what the non-Japanese players think about the card game, they only care about what Japanese players want. And sales are up in Japan. Only when sales decline in Japan will Konami act to try and improve the game. And that doesn't look like it's happening anytime soon.

As someone who actually played through the whole of tear 0: nah we don't. Both tear and snake eye formats suck in different ways. During tear format, deck building didn't matter as everyone was playing almost the exact same deck card for card, while in the snake eye formats it's gameplay that's stopped mattering, most games you're just comparing hands with your opponent

Unless the recent banlist unbanned merrli and dragon ruler I severely doubt tear will be a true meta contender. The problem still is the fact they had/have access to floodgates. Dweller is the main ridiculous one especially back when agido and Kelbek were around, but tear was certainly among the most fun metas. Dozens of meta/playable decks, while the main negative was cyber stein being legal (with spright elf)

If you had me to choose between Branded, Tearlaments and HEROES, I'd always pick Tearlaments for a simple reason: It teaches you the importance of sorting the order of chain links because of how frequent it is to have 2 or more cards meeting their activation conditions. I will say all I want from Komoney is to bring back Kitkallos to the TCG back to 1 and nothing else; she already paid two long years in the banlist. The cards that broke them are gone, so they will be a strong deck, but nowhere the tier zero they once were. Just remember... all your lingering hate for Tearlaments and current hate for Snake Eyes will soon shift towards Fiendsmith come 2025... or even as soon as the end of this year.

Master duel as example, before Tear the meta was Branded-Despia (pre Mirrorjade) and before that Swordsoul. What was scrubs response at that time? "Omg grindy tryhard metadeck " When they were fair decks. Per last year they are fair beginner deck. Low floor, higher ceiling. Hating meta for the sake of it is the driving force.

Both these people just played this SO horribly. Late Dweller activation, not holding Orange Light to stop said activation, not attacking Dweller before Normal summoning Reinoheart, the list goes on. And notice how many of those interactions involve Dweller, it's quite possibly the most convoluted game of Protect the Castle in Yu Gi Oh history, because the game's probably going to time if you can't get a Dweller to stick.
