Pandor is like Haru. She was there to make a point. Revolver says this line you mentioned. Let me explain what I observed. In the last few episodes Ai mentions how he couldn't decide, which is something he already said way earlier to Lightning. (Between the two AIs/humanity - he wants co-existence, if he has to pick - he can't do that and will gamble in a fair match as long as Yusaku doesn't have to die THAT way). Before Ai and Yusaku duel, he also mentions what happens when Yusaku loses - Yusaku won't be no more (but they will die together at least, Yusaku won't get shot) but at least there is a chance for humans and AI to co-exist. He later reveals that he won't be no more either. He doesn't know if he will open the box of pandora with this and basically the AIs are like humans, some could turn, some probably won't he can't predict it ... But HE WANTS TO GIVE THEM A CHANCE while splitting his free will, he wants to make co-existence happen, even tho he's gone. It's almost like he's fantasizing about this thought. Pandor is the last Pandor and when Revolver says he probably let her survive on purpose, I think it is exactly this. He wanted AIs to have a Chance to co-exist with humans in some way and this is why he let her survive, also because she seems to have better chances, because of her limited free will. According to his calculations he couldn't, so somebody else should in his place. He wants her to live on in his place and let co-existence happen. He even tells "Pandor-Chan" to take care. He wants her to make it happen. So if he loses (and his will won't be split into many different beings), there is still the last Pandor to try co-existence, even when everybody else is gone. At the beginning of the season, he claims that he wants to fullfill Lightnings wishes, in the duel with Pandor however, he says he doesn't plan to kill humans but it might happen and he already hurt them (Queen). In the last duel he reveals that he does in fact not want to become like Lightning and is afraid of this. So, it was never about carrying on his wishes, but more about getting revenge and finding another way even if that means that he is gone, he couldn't see Yusaku die like that, but he couldn't give up the thought of co-existence either. "But humans wouldn't agree with it". I think he even said something along these lines before the duel, something about a chance too. Edit: I added a little something because one sentence could be taken differently than I intended, also tried to format it better. (Update 24.5.20) If anybody cares about Haru: Haru is just another person to join the "siblings bond" side. Because an incredibly big amount of characters have no parents (dead parents) but sibling bonds.

When Earth was being dissected, I noticed that Akira didn’t seem too happy about it. In fact, he didn’t seem happy with most of the things that Queen did. If it was up to me, I’d have Akira realise how evil Queen was and then challenge her to a duel with control of SOLTIS on the line with Akira winning. Also, what happened to Topologina Nabee? While i do think the original ending of Vrains where humanity dies would've been an absolute BALLSY ending for a ygo show and rather incredible if they pulled it off, i do think the one we got given how much emotion, character development and all around better since it gave good wrap up on characters, gave us some amazing character moments and left us on a rather open ended ending which i personally liked. But it would be kind of insane if they ever did do an ending like that i will say.

@Hattan AlShutaifi The sad truth is: Every single Yugioh show has wasted evil organizations. 5DS and Vrains still were good, because at least we got a good villain on their places: Z-one for 5DS and Ai for Vrains. Arc-V had it the worst, because every single organization there sucked: Security and The Academia. Zarc took all the screentime of the Academia in the final arc, and he was still terrible.

To be fair to 5ds though, I think the Arcadia Movement arc was scrapped due to one of the Japanese voice actress (I think Carly's) was a part of a cult. So they decided to just scrap all traces of a cult in Yugioh.

I never really got into 5ds, but it still kinda annoys me that that one cultleaderguy was literally revived offscreen just to instantly be arrested offscreen. Why in hell would they write it into their canon that he was revived to begin with? He was not even a dark signer and those specifically were supposed to be revived. Why someone they killed too? What is even the consequence to death anymore?

The Hanoi's spy thing exhausts me a lot. It was just a mere guess made by Yusaku and Revolver's smirking face was no confirmation. The Knights could hack the entire security system of a prison, so of course they could do the same thing to SOL's system with ease. Also, throughout the show, we had seen that literally any skillful hackers like Kusanagi, Emma, and Blood Shepherd could mess with SOL. In conclusion, the fact that the Knights could see Earth's death scene was so obvious and natural that we don't need to have a spy of the Knights of Hanoi in order to make it reasonable.

I still wished they had let Aqua meet with Flame and Ai. after she partenered with Aoi, they never let the 3 good guy ignis be in the same room beyond "commenting about what is happening in a duel". Tey could have even done a recap but as long as the framing device of said recap was the Cafe Nagi Gang filling up the details to Aoi and Aqua about what she doens't know, it would have at least been an opportunity to let thecharacters interact at all

To be honest it would be nice to get to know Yusaku's backstory more. It will be interesting to see his parents and know his life before the incident. Another thing I wish they continued is the story with SOL Technologies. I feel as there are many unknown questions answer about SOL Technologies and there true intention. They had in season 1 the Chest Pieces, season 2 Queen, and season 3 The Kings. It would be nice know their true role in series because I feel as they all had other intentions.

Yeah, I'm disappointed they never went into the SOL chess pieces after season 1. And yeah, we never found out what happened to Queen at the end of the series. I wish they did an episode or something where Queen attempts to find out the identities of the main Ignis holder trio in season 2 and attempts to capture them and their Ignis that way.

I would argue that the Lost Incident was kinda of a drop story, though it’s more of a missed opportunity, because of how very little it meant if we try to look at the whole picture. Even though it was the trigger that caused Vrains to happen, with very stupid reason for happening. Yet despite that, I felt like the Lost Incident could have been used better if we explored the victims more closely by having the main group be those six. Or at least five of them since the concept of Spectre was still interesting, if disturbing. 5DS had a similar structure and with some modification that would fit the show and bring it up to date, Vrains might have been a more tightly written show that all I’m saying.

Pandor(if I recall) and Spectre(definitely)did talk in the last episode but I agree with all of the forgotten storylines. To think that one of the main hanois could have been the spy and I feel pandor could have been what brought out the destruction of the world like her name coming from pandora's box comes from. Here's a twist though if they had gone with the confirmed original ending what if yusaku had lost and the scene where ai asks to join him would have been the way that Yusaku would live on as an ai while every other human had died? Definitely would have been dark for any yugioh series! Also, I feel like Bohman would have been the divine ignis had all of the ais come together and in the original ending it would have been cool if lightning had another back up file like ai found and would show him in that ending claiming victory.

They could've completley rewrote season 3 Have not only Ai but all 6 ignis return in human form soltis. And have soltech obtain the data from all 6 ignis post war with the ignis. With that data the chess pieces create their own divine ignis, whom the humans and soltis Ai have to team up to defeat along with the 3 chess pieces and queen. Then season 4 be about humans vs the ignis and have the humans and ignis both lose with Yusaku vs Ai ending in a draw

I really hope they would make an OVA with the high-performance ignis and hanoi spy, but that's just grasping at straws at this point. It could even be fit into the timeskip in the last episode if they ever decide to revisit vrains, and not having yusaku appear in it would also give a new twist and give focus to other characters. But oh well, vrains is just untapped potential in a lot of ways unfortunately. PS: I do like this style of cutting in and out, makes it feel more personal.

Imagine the fusion of all 3 of those plot points though. The chess pieces, the divine Ignis, and the spy all in an arc? It would’ve been amazing! Yusaku and others having to take on the chess pieces in a somewhat Barian style arc to defeat them and stop the divine Ignis from being created. Then the spy either defects and helps the crew out OR the spy kills the last chess piece and the divine Ignis with Yusaku then establishes the Knights of Hanoi as the new leaders of SOL! I could’ve died that would’ve been the best show

But I’m guessing Pandor would’ve ended up turning on humanity if the series ran for the more typical length. I think one fight we all expected to see were the six victims vs the chess pieces. But they pretty much weren’t involved, and only two victims got real screen time. I really wish we could’ve seen more aspects of real life in the show. But if I remember correctly, I thought Faust was doing something with Dr. Kogami? I wonder if the divine ignis kind of got scrapped for Bohman. Or if SOL somehow got the data for the rest of the Ignis somehow through a longer series. I hope we eventually get more news on the behind the scenes aspects of VRAINS, like how we did with 5Ds

Yeah, definitely my biggest thing w/ VRAINS was the fact SOL Technologies was set up as the Big Bad, Final Boss kinda thing, only for them to never get a proper arc, much like w/ the Arcadia Movement in 5D's, like someone else already mentioned. Folks tell me "Yeah Lightning putting the virus in Dr. Kogami instead of SOL makes perfect sense," but, given SOL Technologies' methods, especially in covering up inconvenient truths such as the Lost Incident, I still don't buy it. ~Unless~ VRAINS wanted to do a twist where Lightning was actually working w/ SOL directly, especially since the whole "God-like Ignis" subplot and Lightning's Bowman subplot are very similar, so yeah, it was him, but endorsed by SOL, so the Knights of Hanoi going after SOL would still make sense. That would've been neato 😂 Also, about Pandor, I remember a few of my pals and I were discussing back when she first showed up about the possibility of Pandor switching to Ai and Roboppi's side. Because it's definitely plausible for Ai to tamper w/ the programming to make (or somehow convince) Pandor to be more sympathetic to AI and their cause and Roboppi could be all, "New friend! :D" Would've been hilarious. 😂😂😂

Maybe they could cover the Soltech arc in a crossover movie! The Divine zig is could’ve been made too powerful to the point that he pulls famous duelist from various ages (the MC of each series) to absorb into himself to become the ultimate duelist/life-form (taking a page from Kars). I’m also surprised they didn’t have a Divine Ignis since any duelist worth their deck (obviously sans Naoki) would’ve know about the god cards, then again since Konogami doesn’t seem like a duelist worth anything that may be why there wasn’t one! Another thing they didn’t cover is why did they kidnap who they did during the Lost Incident! What made them chose Yusaku, Myu, Jin, Soulbruner and Windy’s Partner (should’ve given a name at some point too), what was it that made them special? As for Pandor, an idea I had for VRAINS rolling around in my head was that she would make the first human/AI hybrid using part of her own code for the AI part. The result would later go on to bring back the Ignis (removing Windy’s personality alteration and giving it to Lightning instead to make Lightning willingly and happily subservient to the other Ignis (especially Ai)), make Bohman and Haru good guys, and taking down the Kings while leaving Akira in charge of Soltech permanently! This character uses Cyberse pendulum monsters because the Cyberse could use pendulum monsters as well as Judgement Arrows and a Link Spell of his own design. He even makes special ones for each Cyberse Archetype! Thoughts?

I still don't think that the spy needed to be addressed or was ever planned to be a major plot point. Sure, it could have been turned into something bigger, but I really think it was just a quick one line to explain how Revolver was getting information.

It has been addressed on both this channel and reddit that the staff had experienced some serious production issues. There were some pieces of evidence such as the change of director, the huge amount of recap episodes, and the inconsistency of animation. I heard that there were some workers who even revealed those problems on Twitter (too bad that I don't have the link). There is no final conclusion, but it is safe to assume that VRAINS was ended early because the staff simply didn't have enough resources to continue the show.

Looking at the quality in season 3 specifically (but it is even obvious before that) and the lack of Openings (which cost a lot), it's easy to assume that they went out of budget and didn't have a lot to begin with from the beginning, which is why it is about 30 episodes shorter than the last 3 series and the timing is a mess. It even started later. It's a wonder that it even finished.

3:17 I wouldn't particularly say knocking her physical/robot body off a plane really counts as "sparing", exactly. Though as to why he didn't do what he did to Spectre and everyone else he and Robopi beat, well it's partially influenced by my headcanon that Ai's (and Bohman's and Robopi's) data was altered due to interacting with Lightning's data (Bohman through absorbing Lightning, Ai through the Ignis giving Ai their data to make Darkfluid, and Robopi through Ai) and Ai didn't want Lightning's data to influence Pandor. But again, that's just a headcanon.

I'm glad we got the ending we got for Vrains. I would hate to see any Yugioh Protagonist die, no matter how good the scene would be, or how poetic. I just like to have happy endings to my shows. Let them go through shit, but keep them alive. This isn't Dragonball, we can't wish people back to life. That being said, it would have been symbolic of Studio Gallop losing the rights to Yugioh.

Our ending was better but that dark ending would have been cool to see to see a third season finale where the 4th season becomes a post apocalypse story where the last humans become the good guy versions of z one uporia Bruno and paradox where they go back in time to become the "villains" to destroy ai and everyone before it's too late and "kill" yusaku by his own hand. Would be a nice reverse 5ds story if it happened

The vrains bad ending could have taken a route like in the game Radiant Silvergun where humanity dies, but a robot that survived remakes humanity using clones (although that plot also involved time travel so Hehe). Maybe make it so humanity is remade by Ai as Ignis

Everything until arcv happens in the same multiverse with the original to 5ds happening in the same world. Vrains and sevens are pretty clearly not part of it until there is good evidence against it. Zexal and arcv literally only get the pass because zexals backstory of the creation of the universe matches the one given by gx(for reference, see the "nightshroud referenced all yugiohs"-video) and arcv is canonically in the position where the dimensions were formed around past locations and events. Meaning it takes place after both 5ds and zexal.

Definitely would've been a bizarre feeling for any Yu-Gi-Oh series to end in such a dark tone humanity being wiped out I'd say the ending for Vrains is satisfactory even though it was shortened

Maybe I'm wrong with this because it happened so far ago, but during the first season, didn't we see Decode Talker (or any monster) materializing? I thought that means we were going to see real life duels with Yusaku using Playmaker's deck without the avatar, putting his identity at risk or something, but in the end they never had a duel IRL

We never found out why A.I. gave Naoki cyberse wizard and A.I. wanting to fuse with playmaker literally just came out of nowhere and never really meant anything.

I think it would have been awesome for the AI to win because it would be even cooler to have a follow up series to fix the world, also my theory about the chess pieces Is that Yu-Gi-Oh VRAINS was set before ARC V because in season two of arc v the head of security uses chess pieces in the syncro dimension so that could be a possibility

Rewatching, i noticed a few things Lighting knew Earth would be killed by sol tech and Earth's will to fight against the humans would have been a perfect point to save him or at the very least recover the data from GO and add an extra fighter to his side as well as killing GO in the process Second, Why didnt they keep the plotpoint of Yusaku being Bohman since the idea that we've been watching the antagonist the whole time without knowing would have explained his cold personality and for the main reason Jin was a target, he needed someone to reach out to for help without lightning finding out

I don't think I would have liked Vrains if it ended on a tragedy. Even at it's darkest I feel like Yugioh is always a hopeful series and a tragic ending wouldn't have fit in with that shonen optimism. I also don't think a tragic would have answered all our unresolved questions either and if anything would have made the ending feel less resolved than it already is. I think one dropped storyline I wanted to see explored more that isn't mentioned in the video is the whole thing about Yusaku possibly being a fake AI. It was brought up briefly during the duels with Bohman but then it was just kind of dropped and never brought up again. I feel like that would have made for an exciting twist the show and could have given the show some more depth.

@ULGROTHA That said I think they could have had an instance in the show where Playmaker maybe loses a duel and someone like Blue Maiden has to come in and save him. I think that would have made for an exciting twist that still has a happy ending and gives other characters more chances to shine. And I always like it when the main character loses a match and they struggle with the angst of losing and then improve themselves to be a better duelist. Like when Yugi lost against Kaiba in Duelist Kingdom.
