Ootomo never found out what actually happened, that's why she still hates Ishigami, and they never told her because Ishigami is like that, he likes to help people but doesn't want recognition (plus he just wanted her to be happy at her new school, and telling her would just break her heart)

If I remember correctly, in the manga is stated Kyoko's boyfriend broke with her and was forced out of the school, Hayasaka asks Kaguya if she was responsible for it and she says she wasn't BUT she told the truth to some of the VIP students of the school who are capable of doing more unpleasant things than her.

That girl Kyoko almost got her porn leaks and force to sold her body by her own boyfriend at the age of fifteen. To protect her, Ishigami takes all the blame and reduced those damages to "My boyfriend dumped me, because a boy in my class beat the shit out of him". No one outside the student council room have any chance to know the truth, because the truth alone could hurt her. And Ishigami did all that just because she's been nice to him from time to time. What a man.

Correction, many of upperclassmen, especially more influential, know and it's a common knolwedge about those who got curious. It's for that reason that Yu has actually a pretty good reputation among them. Unfortunately that doesn't apply to year 1 ones

hindsight is 20/20, its very easy to talk smack when we know the entire picture. As another comment said, Ootomo was never really given a chance to even process the truth, she was manipulated to the very end at the same time, solving it this way also is the "ishigami" way(kinda like hachiman), so in a way im glad they didnt go the route of her getting known the truth. Man, this backstory really makes all of Ishigami's "I wanna die" and "I wanna go home" jokes look a lot more depressing in hindsight.

It's even deeper than that. It's also why he gets so incredibly offended whenever Chika cheats at games and says stuff like "there's no limit to your depravity". Ishigami is a man who places integrity above all else, and he gets easily triggered whenever someone behaves in a way that he considers a betrayal. It's also the reason he memorized Shirogane's birthday and why he's upset that Chika didn't know about it. Going further, Miko Iino is a very principled person and she struggles with social acceptance as a result just like Ishigami does. One of the reasons they fight so often is because they see themselves in each other including their own flaws. It's also why in Season 3 when Chika is roasting Miyuki he says "people who revel in slandering others are questionable to me". People don't usually call that shit out unless they have a reason to be upset at seeing people mistreated. Ishigami is a very nuanced character.

Don't forget, Kaguya is a Seinen romcom. Meaning it includes adult and serious themes and is not just 1 gag after the other. Hence it's my favourite manga, once the longer arcs start rolling out (Sportsfestival isn't long but kinda marks the beginning of it) it just never misses.

So, for context, Kaguya did say she did nothing to Ogino, on the manga though, we see that she did nothing to him, but she told some important parents of students that made Ogino go elsewhere. If you remember the ep where Kei appears for the first time, the talk Miyuki was having with some people was about Ogino. Edit: It was on Season 1 and he did go to another country which was said by Kaguya.

Ishigami was already my favorite character, but after this, he could have been the protagonist of his own series. Also I love how much the student council did for Ishigami even though all they knew about him were bad rumors. Really makes you appreciate his bond with them a bit more

There was actually an extra little scene in the manga where she talks about what happened to Ogino. It's very satisfying, and it features in chapter 90 if you wanna look it up.

If i remember correctly while shirogane rescues ishigami and Iino makes his sentence lighter. Shinomiya leak the truth to all the club presidents and told them to keep the truth to themselves. Then they kinda bully/gang up to him to quit school.

To clear something up: The girl is an airhead and has no idea what truly went on. But after the incident Ishigami immediately got suspended and then she flunked out of Shuchiin before he was allowed to return, so she never even had a chance to talk to him about it. This was not to "hate on Yu" to ruin his life. She just wanted to have a final word with him, tell him how she feels and then be done with it. From the ending you can quite clearly see that now that she had this final shout at Yu, the issue is pretty much out of her mind already.

My favorite episode in the series hands down, Ishigami endure so much just so he could protect that smile of hers. That's why anything involving with him I can't help but root for him because you want this man to succeed, you want him to be happy because he deserves it.

They kinda mistranslated Ishigami in the CR subs. He says “shut up, stupid” as opposed to “go to hell, idiot”. Sometimes CR subs are way off base I don’t normally like reactions to these episodes since they’re typically antagonistic but Ootomo is a decent person. A lot of people hate that’s she’s ignorant and upset when she’s ignorant cuz of the main cast. It really isn’t fair to her. The fandom overall has a pretty major problem demonizing certain characters, often for unfair reasons

I agree with you from an "inside the situation" stand point... but from our viewers perspective it is also ok to be annoyed by her for not trusting her friend, or rather for not allowing him to explain the situation at least later in private and instead completely abandoning their friendship... yes ishigami was quite at fault too because he should have also done something from his side toward her but she broke him first... So Hating her is too much... being annoyed by her for allowing the situation to escalate THAT much is deserved a bit more than how we are annoyed by ishigami for the same reason...

While I can agree the fandom can take the hate too far, I see it as the point of Ishigami's decision and why Kaguya said she wouldn't tell Oootomo. Everyone (us fans, the student council, whoever else knows the truth) can hate on her or the situation all they want if they want, but to act upon that hate and tell her the truth would undermine the struggles Ishigami went through in the first place.
